I would like to get our 14-year-old a protein bar for a time when we hike or do an activity that she needs a good snack. What have your kids tried and liked. she does like chocolate, peanut butter, nuts things like that she does not like raisins or fruit. Thank you

I don't think this is a protein bar but my DD15 loves Fiber One brownies. I think it has 5 grams of fiber.

My 13 year old DD loves Clif Bars. They come in a lot of flavors, and she often takes one for breakfast (she's not big on eating early in the day). They're a little pricier, but I think they're more filling.

I know my picky 14 yr old son likes the Clif bars and and Special K protein bars. He usually doesn't like the texture of protein bars but these brands are winners for him.

Another vote for Clif Bars. You will have to have her try different ones as some my kids love, some they like and some they don't like but will eat if that's all there is and some that they absolutely would not touch under any circumstances and there's no rhyme or reason to those they like vs. those they hate relative to things they normally love (they hate the chocolate chip ones :confused3 )

Just make sure you're actually getting a protein bar. Many of the granola type ones are not full of protein, just a healthier 'candy bar'. Quest bars have a really chewy texture, but many people rave about their protein bars. Clif bars are decent, you have to try a few to find a flavor you like.....I don't really like protein bars though and go for the Odwalla or Luna bars LOL.

Agreed. While not initially economical, I bought about 20 different Lara, Clif, etc bars and had dd try them one night. Winners ended up being Balance Chocolate Craze and Kashi peanut butter and chocolate. Until they try them, you just don't know.

My 14 DD doesn't like any of them. She prefers the Target brand Whey Protein drink. I buy the huge container of it and she has it after dance classes or after working out.

for an actual protein bar, power bar peanut butter or chocolate.

My dd likes a big variety, but if you are hiking, etc, you might be looking more for a carb bar for energy rather than a protein bar. Also, if it is going to be warm, I would go more for a granola bar as they don't melt. honestly, an apple or two would also be good.

The South Beach peanut butter granola bars are really good (and I am a super picky eater)

My 14 DD likes the Luna Chocolate Peppermint Stick bars. She's a long-distance runner.

I buy DD16 Cliff bars weekly. She likes chocolate chip, and chocolate chip coconut. She takes them to school for a morning or afternoon snack depending on her day.

DD10 likes the Ballet/Dancer's Barre when we can find them--her studio doesn't always have them and I haven't seen them anywhere else. If she can't get those, she likes Luna bars.

My 13 year old son likes the Fit and Active Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough protein bars from Aldi.

I like that they are less expensive than most other brands of protein bars, but they have similar protein content.

Luna bar made for women. The pepermint stick one is phenomenal, tastes like a thin mint girl scout cookie. They have a lot of good flavors and none of them have that nasty protein taste.

Kind bars are delicious. They have several varieties that are just nuts, as well as some that have chocolate and/or peanut butter. And, they are high in protein and low in fat, especially saturated fats and have only natural ingredients.
