First time coming up next month. What other expenses should I expect to pay?
We have the resort, food, and tickets already taken care of.

If you purchased the Disney Dining Plan you'll still need to account for tips. Also, if anyone in your party wants an alcoholic drink, that will not be included in the Dining Plan.

Plan for tips:
mousekeeping, bell services (for bringing bags to your room), bus driver (if taking DME to resort), table service meals.

Travel expenses.... either car or plane... if by car add gas and (maybe) hotel charges) plus food while on the road.

Our extra expenses occurred before we left, but were for the trip: Park shoes-- athletic shoes and/or walking sandals. Of course an arsenal of sunscreen (very expensive to buy on-site), a good park bag, etc. Just the "extras" that do add up.

Parking at the parks if you're not staying on-site.

I know there's more but those are the ones off the top of my head.

Depends on what your plans are. I have a basic list I go by
Transportation
Mousekeeping
Dining & Dining Tips
Extra Drinks/Snacks not covered under dining plan
Tickets
Accommodations
Souvenirs
Bell/Valet Service Tips
Towel/locker rental for water parks
Other Entertainment (Movies on rainy days, mini golf etc)
Misc Expenses (every trip someone has an unexpected medical issue..upset stomach or something)

If you are planning on taking your car to the parks, definitely plan on $14.00 each day for parking. What is nice is that if you pay for parking at one park and leave to go to another park the same day, you won't be charged a second time for parking that day. At least that is what they kept telling us when we went a month ago.

Have fun!

Since they use the word "mousekeeping", I'm assuming they are staying onsite. If they are staying onsite, parking at resorts and parks is included. No extra fee.

Also remember that some shows and events might cost extra and if you want to take any of the tours offered, they tend to cost extra.

This is true - one fee per day (if you're an offsite guest, it's free if you're onsite). Same applies to locker rentals. Just keep your receipt from park 1 and get free rental at park 2 (you do have to pay the refundable deposit again).

Don't forget to add in the cost of parking at the airport if you are leaving your car there. Also the cost of pet-sitter or kennel for any pets while you are gone.

Not so much an expense, but last time I went I brought 2 rolls of quarters and a handful of pennies from home, my nephews are in elementary school and love to use the souvenir machines at the parks where they can squish a penny and imprint it with a Disney character, b/c so much of the trip was already paid for I wouldn't have had enough of the right change denominations to indulge them.

We do this too. The pennies make nice/cheap souvenirs to bring home. You need 50c for every penny you want crushed.

There is no need to tip housekeeping. They are unionized and categorized as a non-tipped position

But there is a reason to tip drivers (including ME drivers, but not on site Disney transportation), bell hops and waitstaff - who are in tipped positions.

If you are renting a car you will need a roll of quarters to pay the tolls. If you need to do a load of laundry you will need quarters too as well as soap and softner. I just bring a fee softner sheets with me and a sample bottle of soap.

So even if you stay on-site but decide to take your car to the parks, the parking at the parks is free?? If that's the case I didn't know. Not long ago I stayed at the All-Star Sports and took my car to MK. I remember paying the fee to park in the lot. I thought utilizing the buses was the way to save on the parking when you stay on-site.

Good to know for next time. :)
