So I am sitting here watching them tell a Mom to use a jersey dress as her new fall back outfit. It is what they say she should go about her day in.
:rotfl2:
Um anyone?
Are you Mom's wearing a dress all day?

I hate when they throw out all the broken in jeans and sweats. What the heck are you supposed to wear when you are cleaning house and doing yardwork. And those sweats (no matter how ugly!) are an essential when curled up on the couch in the winter time! If they tried to get me to the show... no way I would turn over my wardrobe for $5000. The places they send people to shop, you can't buy 1/4 what you need for $5000!

I would like to see them do a show shopping only at like a Target. Show us what to wear from stores that we can get to. I am within an hour of NYC so I could go in and shop at those stores - but I don't have $5000 lying around to shop.

My grandmother used to say Anyone can look great in a $100 dress(it was a long time ago) but it takes a real beauty to look great in a $10 dress.

Oh but I am loving the new ending- the one where they show EXACTLY what they bought with the whole $5000!

I'm not a mom but I have many friends who are and a couple of them wear dresses everyday...they are comfortable. I am the only woman in my office who wears at least 3 times a week. I just think they're comfy! :goodvibes

I'm sitting in the living room in the recliner on the laptop right now wearing a dress :thumbsup2

Show me how to dress well from reasonably priced stores available across America!

I think they do a lot of good for many men and women. Acting like you can't go to the grocery store unless you look like you're ready for a magazine shoot, though, is one thing that really annoys me about them.

Pre kids yes I wore a lot of dresses. Now I only do if I am going to a wedding. I can't imagine showing up at the bus stop in a dress. When I wore lipstick my friends asked if I was having an affair. :rotfl2:

That's an awesome idea! I would love to see an episode showing something like that!

I wear a dress almost every day. :) I find them to be much more comfortable than jean/khaki shorts and shirts. I have a flabby muffin top courtesy of my two little monsters, so I hate having that hang over the top of my jeans! Dresses solve that problem for me!

I like the show, but hate what little clothes you get for the money where they shop.

I am dying to have Nick cut my hair. I live close enough, but his prices are HIGH!

He's not on the show anymore!! They have some new guy and he did do a slamming haircut today. Maybe his prices will come down! lol

AWww, I liked Nick. I have not watched the show in a while. Maybe without the show, Nicks prices dropped?

scratch that- his cuts are still $500
I guess that won't be happening! haha

YMMV, but I felt so much better as a SAHM after I started wearing "nice" clothes everyday. When I discovered myself in WalMart in clothes that could be only considered 1 notch above pj's, I staged my own intervention!

I do my hair everyday, I wear makeup everyday, and I wear nice clothes everyday, including dresses. As for housecleaning, I have a couple of long aprons that protect from food and bleach.

You are in the South- that doesn't count!:rotfl2: I do have one friend in Canada that wears skirts everyday and a June Cleaver apron. She is adorable. But really I can't do that.

I have started accessorizing a bit though. (boy it looks like I spelled that wrong) and a good shoe goes a long way. I just have to move inland on the body I guess to improve the whole look.

Thanks for the apron tip!!! I LOVE it and am definitely stealing that (after ruining too many good clothes from bleach...)

I'm in the North - does that count?

When I became a SAHM, I vowed I wouldn't let myself go. 18 years later, I'm still dressing nice, doing my hair (ok well sometimes it's just a ponytail...) and make-up. And I take Flylady's advice and wear shoes in the house. I'm telling you, it makes a world of a difference in your attitude and in your productivity at home.

And I do wear dresses at home! Not every day, and usually only in the summer. Cute sundresses are not only adorable but cooler than shorts and a tank, and you can give yourself a nice fanning every now and then. :rotfl2:

I have a friend who dresses every day. We work together and there is not a day that she doesn't look great. Some days dresses, some suits, others slacks and a great top/jacket. Her shoes are great too.

On the weekends she wears, depending on the season, a great little skirt with flats and a terrific top, or slacks and a tailored shirt or a little dress with cute shoes.

Her theory..there is no reason to look sloppy when going about your regular life. And yes, she does clean her own home and you could eat off her floor. She just has a different vision of how she presents herself to the world. I mean, she looks like she's stepped off the pages of a Talbot's catalog sometimes.

I wish I could put it together like her. Yes, it helps that she's tall and very slim (neither of which I can claim for myself) but still, she does know how to put it together.

Oh, and she does have a pair of jeans for things like a baseball game or outdoor activity.

And I cannot believe Nick charges $500! I could use a really good cut like that, but since I can't afford it, the hair just keeps on growing.

I cleaned my whole house yesterday in a casual skirt and top. Being dressed in clothes that aren't sloppy is hardly magazine cover ready, its just dressed.

They throw out your broken in jeans and sweats becuase they are ugly and don't look good on you. Buy a pair of yoga pants in a flattering cut. Just as comfy, not as ugly. Get jeans in a nice cut and wash, they won't throw those out.

Glad Nick is gone, he was a hack. Gave everyone the same soccer mom bob. I really like the new guy.
