It is so very, very hard to wake up on your last day at WDW. Eventually I did drag myself out of bed to shower and start packing. On top of it being our last day, Jack had developed a nasty earache, and I was a bit worried about him flying with his ear bothering him.
We got our bags together which took ages, it was difficult to cram all my souvenirs into a few carry-ons and two checked bags! and headed downstairs. There we were able to check our two suitcases. Since I had bought my airplane tickets three days before the new charge for checking luggage kicked in, checking the bags was free. Yay! After getting our boarding passes we checked our four carry-ons with bell services and started to walk over to Epcot
.FOR THE LAST TIME. Boohoo.
Jack thinks its hilarious to frown whenever I try to take his picture. I do not agree.
Here he looks really miserable, which Ill chalk up to his earache. I also am not sure what I was thinking with that outfit the Disney jeans are one thing, but to pair it with a busy floral t-shirt? Really, Kelly?
It was so terribly hot this day, we stopped in Club Cool for some vegibeta and smart melon (no more Beverly for us, thanks). Then we headed out of Epcot via the magtastical monorail!
The transfer at the TTC to the MK monorail took forever (overall our luck with transportation this trip was not so hot), but I am so glad Jack got to ride the monorail. We were hungry so after we leapt off the monorail and charged down Main Street, we hit my favorite Magic Kingdom eatery, Ye Olde Columbia Harbor House
Lighthouse Sandwich for me
And tuna for Jack
I loved the tuna
I think I will get that next time! Next we went to Haunted Mansion because it had a mere 5 minute wait. I spent a little more time checking out the pet cemetery this time, since I had never noticed it before this trip. I got a kick out of a lot of the inscriptions on the stones Little Waddle saw the truck, but Little Waddle didnt duck!

Splash Mountain was next, which was heavenly on such a hot day. We got Fast Passes for BTMRR, then went to Tomorrowland and bought Mickey bars. Mine was melting so fast as I was eating that it was a less-than-enjoyable experience, but darnit, I wanted Jack to experience the wonder that is a Mickey chocolate head stuffed with vanilla ice cream!
Next was Buzz Lightyear, where I hit a huge target almost right away, and was ahead for most of the ride! And then somehow Jack still managed to beat me! I think he cheats.
It was time for us to use our Fast Passes so we headed back to Frontierland, while I wondered why all my favorite rides were in complete opposite ends of the park. Jack is asthmatic, and with his intense ear pain, was not appreciating the racing to-and-fro we had to do to get to all the rides. It was so hot, so after BTMRR we headed out of the park.
As we were leaving I stopped in a shop to buy a license plate with the castle on it for the front of my car. The CM who checked me out noticed how very sad I was to be leaving, and reminded me that I can always return. I was already trying to figure out how I could afford 8 days at the Beach Club next year. Boohooohoo.
Both Jack and I fell asleep on the bus back to the Beach Club. We hit up Beaches and Cream for a mint chip waffle cone for Jack, and Hurricane Hannahs for a strawberry sunrise for me. This is pretty much bliss:
I was sad to be leaving though, so I was quite teary-eyed. I must have asked Jack a hundred times if we could come back!
We had time, so figured we would check out the arcade. I got a Mickey Steamboat Willie quarter for my scrapbook
And then we had to play our very favorite game, air hockey!
Jack beat me, of course. And then soon, we were standing at bell services waiting for our bags. A boring old Mears bus came to pick us up, which we should have taken as a bad omen. The ride to the airport was a bit of a mess. We were lucky enough to grab a front seat together (no video was shown though, boohoo). Slowwwwly we drove to the BoardWalk. Then slowwwwly we drove to CBR (which was kind of neat, I had never seen it before). At this point it was 4:30 and the buses were all backed up. Ours was standing room only. And the driver was a total grump. I could hear his radio and it was interesting to listen to the manager try to sort everything out. I think what happened was one driver forgot to make a couple of their scheduled stops and it caused a crazy backup.
We got to MCO around 5:15, which was fine, I dont think our flight was until 7ish. We had a good dinner at the Marconi Grill spaghetti and meatballs for me, chicken calzone for Jack. We went through security and got to the gate with a few minutes to spare.
Jacks parents picked us up at the airport, and told us we had just missed a crazy storm I had never heard of a hurricane warning happening in downtown Philly, but apparently there was one that day! Jack and I had noticed that our flight was the first of the day to Philadelphia that didnt have a huge delay. We were really lucky.
And thus ends our trip! I am sorry it took me so long to write this thing, but thank you to all who have stuck with me. This was a wonderful trip with two people I absolutely love it really made it seem like two trips in one! I had a great time planning a week in WDW with two people who were totally up for anything I wanted to do.
I am, of course, working on a plan to go back. Over Christmas, a friend of mine who lives near my parents stopped by for a visit (I met him on the college program and
my first trip report was about a trip I took with him). Somehow I convinced him that he and his wife needed to go to WDW this year, and that Jack and I should go with him. He actually went home and talked to his wife about it, and while nothing is definite, we may be heading down in the fall! Id love to stay at Beach Club again, but Ive also been interested in checking out the Fort Wilderness Cabins, which might be fun to do with another couple (and anyone else we can sucker into joining us).

So hopefully that will happen
.either way, Ill get back there somehow soon!!
Oh yeah, and I gotta start that scrapbook!
Happy 2009 to all, I hope you had a wonderful New Years and I hope we all get to WDW (or somewhere equally wonderful) this year

I look forward to reading about all of your adventures!
