:thumbsup2 your BF is AWESOME!! Never in a million years could i get my dh to step foot in BBB, not even to watch his daughter! :confused3

:rotfl2: Well it definitely helps if he has no idea what the BBB is and what is going on in there!

Thanks for the trip report. I am so excited about our upcoming trip.

Thanks! Have fun on your trip. :teeth:

He was a "cool dude" and the best boyfriend ever! What a fun experience. There is no way I could get my DS14 to go in there. I've asked my DD8 if she wants to go but she said she would rather get her face painted again. Last time it was a unicorn and very sparkly. She said she may get a spider this time. :confused3 I'm sure it will be cute whatever she chooses. They do such a good job.:thumbsup2

I love the face paint, I want to get that done someday too! They also do these little paint on tattoos at various stands around the parks. They're like $5. I wanted to get a Chip one so badly but never got around to it. Next time!

What a good boyfriend! I'm impressed.

And I think the Mickey is adorable. Just don't tell him I said "adorable", okay? ;)

Haha I won't. ;) I thought she did a really good job on his Mickey. People were complimenting it all night! I only wish I hadn't done it so late in the evening because he had to wash it out when we got back to the hotel so it didn't get all over the bed. It would have been fun to have it for the whole day.

Your BF is such a good sport and the Mickey was very subtle, too! DH got a haircut last year at the Harmony Barbershop in MK and they asked it he wanted anything painted on the back. Wanting to be a good sport (b/c dd had just had ALL her hair chopped off for Locks of Love), he said "surprise me". He was rewarded with a flower garden on the back of his head. :rotfl2:

Poor dh was not amused!

That sounds awesome! You don't have a picture of that do you? ;)

That is so cool! You do have an Awesome BF! I'm glad that he "gets it" where Disney is concerned! I don't know what I would do if my DH wasn't into Disney. He's not a DisneyFreak like me, but he definately gets it!

The next morning we were up at 8AM for marketplace croissants, eaten outside. Then off to DHS! These pictures lead me to believe we took the boat over.
IMG_5193.jpg

You can’t tell here but we are both wearing our WALL-E shirts that I had bought for the trip.
IMG_5197.jpg

We snagged our precious FP’s for Toy Story Mania – Jack had liked Buzz Lightyear, so I knew he would love TSM. Then we were off to the Tower of Terror & Rock N’Roller Coaster.
IMG_5202.jpg

Next we were off to TSM, which I was so excited about. We stopped to say hello to a fishy
IMG_5220.jpg

Then we used our fastpasses to bypass the long line, and then we got up to the part where you grab the yellow glasses, and Jack picked them up and said “Is this ride in 3-D?”
:headache: Oops. In my excitement, I totally forgot that Jack can’t see 3-D. :3dglasses
But it didn’t matter, he really liked the ride anyway! He even managed to beat me!
IMG_5222.jpg

Eating Mickey bars was next, and then the Backlot Tour. I know some people think this is lame, but I really like to do it at least once every trip. I like how there are always new things to see.
Along the way we stopped by the Sci-Fi Dine In
IMG_5206.jpg

We just missed the Backlot Tour so we were first in line for the next show. A CM came out and asked for volunteers. I knew what this meant, and I knew that Jack didn’t know what this meant, so I tried to shove him forward. He was actually considering volunteering until I opened my big mouth and said “Just make sure you don’t have to be the guy that talks on the phone!” That mysterious warning was disturbing enough to make him change his mind. No fun.
I always have to take a picture of Walt’s plane
IMG_5209.jpg

In the prop department there was a ginormous tree that they were working on for a new MK show – it was so cool to see. I wish I had gotten a picture of it. Now I'm wondering if it was maybe part of Pixie Hollow?
We headed back to the Beach Club, and wandered around for a bit. We wanted to grab something to eat. On a whim we stopped by the Captain’s Grill.
I was SO GLAD we did. The place had just opened, they were nearly empty, and we had a wonderful lunch. I was starting to realize that 'free dining' didn't mean 'you need an ADR for every single TS meal or you will never ever get a table in a million years'
IMG_5225.jpg

The only other people there were some folks sitting behind us who were at WDW for the pin convention. It was fun to listen to them talk about the events they were going to attend. I remember working at the pin convention when I worked at Epcot. It was crazy! People came from all over the world. It was a pretty stressful environment to work in.
We started off with a Sam Adams and a Glowtini
IMG_5227.jpg

I ordered a tomato mozzarella sandwich with orzo salad. It was pretty good
IMG_5228.jpg

Jack had a cheeseburger, which was very yummy. Of course it didn’t hold a candle to the magical Beaches and Cream burgers.
For dessert we shared a wonderful blueberry tart with yogurt gelato
IMG_5230.jpg

Jack was dying to check out the pool so we changed into our swimsuits and went to check it out. It was sooo nice. We swam around the whole thing, checked out the Jacuzzi, and loved the sand bottom and slide. I went down it a couple of times and then tried to take a picture of Jack coming down it. There were these bratty little boys who were horsing around, one of them came down the slide and then stuck out his arms so that he stopped before the end, waiting for his friend to come down after and crash into him. The lifeguard blew his whistle and told the boy “You cannot stop at the bottom of the slide.” The boy said “I didn’t.” The lifeguard was like “Yes you did, I saw you.” And the boy kept lying about it. Little jerk. Poor lifeguard, he seemed like a nice dude. When I was on the college program, I heard that being a lifeguard was the worst job you can have at WDW.

We had to laugh when we saw the poolside bar – it was named after the very storm that had been threatening us that week!

We went back to the room to shower for our exciting dinner. I don’t think I’ve posted any pics of our room yet, so here they be!

DSC_0334.jpg

I think you can buy your own Mickey lamp….for way more money than I am willing to spend on a lamp….
DSC_0335.jpg

I have a few more room pictures but I am out of room so they will be for next time. Coming up – Fancy Fishes at the Swolphin!

I could never be a lifeguard or a teacher, basically any role where I would be in charge of disciplining other peoples children. :headache: Poor lifeguard. :guilty:

That Mickey lamp is so pretty!

Great updates! I'd love to see more pics of your room and the pool!

Your BF has a great trust in you at BBB at MK! You both ended up with cute hair!

Great update!!!:thumbsup2 You truly have the best BF ever. It is great he was such a good sport when getting the cool dude. Sounds like you had so much fun.

We just returned from our trip and I miss Disney World so much right now. :goodvibes

Us, too! We were there the 25th - 30th.

I liked it better when Mickey was cooking our meals and cleaning up the mess! And out here, there is no music playing all around, no dancers up and down the streets, no balloons, no chocolate chip cookies scenting the air, and no icicle lit castle!!!

Spending my days with a roomful of 8-9 year olds, I've had a conversation or two or ten thousand kind of like the lifeguard's. You can be looking straight at some kids doing something, and they will go to their deaths denying they did it! They are amazing little creatures. ;)

I didn't know about the tattoos, thanks for the tip. I may have to get a tinkerbell one. ;)

I love your resort, I can imagine the pool to be awesome. One day, I will swim there. Hmmn, I should use my 40% off code and stay there for a couple nights next year.... it may only be good for value resorts, I'll have to check that.

The WALL-E pics and tees are so nice. I finally got my DD the plush toy, it's been sold out since the summer. :woohoo: I'm sure you were one of the first to buy the DVD. :)

We had matching WallE tees too! That's too funny.

I love the Backlot Tour too, and you have to get the mandatory picture of Walt's Plane.

You know, I saw them working on that giant tree and couldn't figure out what it was for. D'oh! It must have been for pixie hollow!

Did I see your episode scheduled for tomorrow (Friday) at noon? They'd better not pre-empt you this time!!!

Have you seen the Wall-E ornaments at Hallmark? SO cute.

Actually that's not me - that's another Kelly! And I haven't seen the Wall-E ornaments, I'll have to check them out. Yay Wall-E!

That didn't occur to me until I was posting this report. I actually edited the post and added that line because I had just realized that!

YAY 40% code!! That's why I stayed there. Definitely use it at BC if you can, it is so worth it!!
I actually pre-ordered the DVD from my local Disney store - we've already watched it twice! :lovestruc

You are so right MeMom. I wish I was having breakfast with Mickey right now instead of coffee at my desk :headache:

Me too!! Last night I was looking through my WDW book wondering which resort I should stay at next. I haven't even thought about when we'll be able to go back, it's too depressing!

Great updates! I'd love to see more pics of your room and the pool!

I liked his a lot! I wish he would style it that way every day

I know what you mean! I am kind of interested in teaching, but not little kids. High school or college perhaps.

The balcony was very small, but we had a nice courtyard view

DSC_0340.jpg

As we were getting ready to go out, we were talking about our plans for the evening. I said something like “I am excited to walk over to the restaurant, I don’t think it’s that far, and then we WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”
The joyous outburst was because I happened to look down and see what Mousekeeping had left for us. AWWWWW!
DSC_0352.jpg

Towel buddies!!! Yay.
I was feeling especially lovely this afternoon thanks to the weather channel
DSC_0353.jpg

We were dressed up – I was anyway, though my hair had no time to dry
DSC_0354.jpg

And soon it was time for a wonderful peaceful walk to the Swan & Dolphin. I had never set foot in those hotels before, but we were eager to try out Kimonos. We strolled slowly out of the BC, and I took pictures of every charming little detail that caught my eye.
DSC_0360.jpg
DSC_0364.jpg

We walked through the pool area – there were some ducks testing out the waters.
DSC_0376.jpg

DSC_0375.jpg

DSC_0378.jpg

We examined the boats and considered renting one – never got around to it – next time!
DSC_0386.jpg

DSC_0380.jpg

We made it safely to the Swan (or Dolphin? I can’t remember which houses Kimonos)
DSC_0392.jpg

DSC_0393.jpg

I had been panicking because Kimonos does not take ADRs (the horror!). I was convinced it would be packed and we would have to wait ages for a table. I needn’t have worried – they were empty.
DSC_0394.jpg

I had to start off with a ridiculously fruity drink from the menu – my general policy is that if it appears to glow neon, I’m drinkin’ it.
DSC_0398.jpg

I think it was some sort of kiwi beverage with my precious Malibu rum in it. We had a wonderful meal – shrimp and veggie tempura, coconut shrimp rolls, rice salmon rolls, boston rolls (which I apparently loved, because I drew a little heart next to it in my journal), and jalapeno rolls. Here are some of the goods
DSC_0400.jpg

It was a really lovely dinner. Extravagant, but worth it. Afterwards we decided to wander over to the Boardwalk. We spent a lot of time in the gift shop there picking out pins for Jack to bring back to his family. Here’s what he eventually ended up with for his parents & two sisters:
DSC_0490.jpg

We did some more wandering – here’s my attempt at some sepia-tinged old-timey pictures.
CSC_0428.jpg

CSC_0418.jpg

In the second picture you can see an entertainer who we watched for a while. He was balancing all sorts of crazy things. The best part was when a wedding party spilled out of one of the buildings and walked down the Boardwalk. Most people stood back to admire them, but this guy jumped right in front of the bride and tried to challenge her to a balancing contest :rotfl: She totally ignored him and just kept watching, so he tried to chase her down the Boardwalk for a bit, then just gave up. It was so funny – I wish I had gotten a decent picture of their interacting. I’m sure she was very taken aback.
It was around 7:45, so we decided to take a boat over to Epcot to watch Illuminations. The sun was setting while we waited for the boat (and waited….and waited….) – it was gorgeous.

Next – our evening at Crabcot continues here!

Soon we were in Epcot! Or “Crabcot,” as Jack insists on calling it. I couldn’t tell you why. Probably because it sounds funny.
DSC_0437.jpg

We started at Spaceship Earth. Now that I knew all about the magical animated ending I fully intended to make some sort of crazy, clever face for the camera, but I forgot and just looked like a deer in headlights.
At least I didn’t look like this guy, who I was elated to find on a box in Mouse Gears. He was shilling some sort of violent toy for little boys called “Airzooka.” I took about 6 pictures of this box. Still feeling the effects of the kiwi-rum beverage, probably.
DSC_0455.jpg

Soon it was time for ILLUMINATIONS! We watched from my favorite spot in the International Gateway
DSC_0460.jpg

This was followed by several attempts to get a decent picture of me in front of the world showcase lagoon
DSC_0468.jpg

Followed by many attempts to get pictures of the precious frogs in the window display of the UK tea shop. I was delighted by these frogs. Perhaps they reminded me of my buddy from the WL.
DSC_0476.jpg

DSC_0481.jpg

DSC_0483.jpg

Can you imagine, a frog drinking tea? Outrageous!!
We exited Crabcot and walked back to the Beach Club. It was amazing being able to walk to Epcot so quickly. I wanted to go there every day just because it was so convenient. Oh precious Beach Club, how you have spoiled me.
We stopped at the market for peppermint bark (me) and beer (Jack), and headed back to the room. We fell asleep watching MSNBC and exited for more Epcot adventures tomorrow!

Coming up: It’s a grill! In a garden!!

crabcot! :lmao: at least it's better than what ray calls it: hellcot. we had a HORRIBLE day there the first time we went and the name just sort of stuck. he actually halfway likes it now though! but he still calls it that.
