What Not To Wear At Walt Disney World - Getting ready for the next one -Show on again

your plans are making me hungry and wanting to go to WDW NOW!!!! I loved the WNTW report too. Can't wait to see you on it on Friday!

Your plans look great and you will love staying at the Wilderness Lodge! I am so jealous, I wish I was staying there again this year. :cloud9:

I can't wait to hear how you like Wilderness Lodge.
I wish I were going this year. I have to wait November of next year. Boo hoo.

They actually do a lot of research on the unsuspecting candidate to make sure that they are likely to go along with it. Imagine spending week getting ready to shoot the 'surprise' and then have the person refuse to be on the show!

According to a behind-the-scenes episode they did (where they answered questions sent in by viewers) they said that they did once have a person who wouldn't participate. BTW, I was sure surprised when I saw this thread and realized who was writing it, since I just saw your episode last week!

Tub tops... I once saw a lady fall out of hers at a check out line at WDW!

I had one in high school and fell out of it once too! Never again!!

Your plans sound like fun!!
WL is such an awesome resort!
Your gona love the famous tonga
toast, its to die for!! Have you
done Soarin yet? I hope I can back
one day just to experience it!:goodvibes

I have gotten to do Soarin' a few times, both at WDW and Disneyland! I love that ride.

Stacy and Clinton would not approve of my clothes, I have tons of tees, as well as six pairs of Crocs, and two Disney swimsuits. I can't wait to read the rest of your TR.

Hello! I love my Disney swimsuits! I should get more Crocs for WDW. My lone pair of Mary Janes is pretty beat up!

Hello and thanks! I am hungry too, thinking about tonga toast  I'm excited for Yak and Yeti too - I love duck!

I am really excited as I have never even set foot on WL property. I know that I didn't have much free time when I worked at Disney, but I often kick myself for spending four months there and not even checking out all of the resorts! I have also never seen Fort Wilderness, All-Star Sports & Movies, Pop Century, or the Swan and Dolphin.

Yes, I heard about that from one of the show's producers. That is why they now do extensive research on the candidates. Jakkie had to get my parents to call WNTW and vouch for my personality (and sanity) before they started taping

Hi Kelly - your plans sound great! I noticed that you're planning to have lunch at Kimono's and I'm not sure they're open that early in the day. We stayed at the Swan 3 summers ago and at least at that time it seemed like the lounge didn't open until evening.

The tonga toast is totally like a dessert. My ds LOVED it! I on the other hand LOVED the pineapple macadamia nut pancakes.:thumbsup2

Airtran did the same thing to us, but they were able to change our flights to non stop at no cost.

looking at those horton hears a who pancakes made me a lil bit ill. not sure I could ave gotten them down lol

I'm so glad that they are airing your show this week. I'm going to make every effort to watch it. I will also be checking out Jellyrolls for the first time in September. It sounds like a great time - I can't wait!

Hi Kelly! I'm so glad you are doing a TR! :yay: I can't believe your trip is almost here!!!!!!!! I hope you have a great time! We ended up canceling our Aug. trip :sad1: but we're going for Halloween & Christmas this year, so I can't complain. LOL! :rotfl: I'm looking forward to hearing all about your trip! :goodvibes

Take care,
Michelle

P.S. I'll let Jordan know you started a TR! I'm sure she'll want to read along, too!

Okay...I found my way over here and now I am caught up! I can't believe how similar our plans are! We are in the same parks most days. :thumbsup2

Yeah, we're even both staying at WL (although I think you check in a couple days after I check out)! I'll have to keep an eye out for you and your DH :magnify:
(PS: Love the Wall-E icon!)

Michelle! I am so glad you found me. I was just looking around the other day to see if you had started a trip report - I didn't realize your August trip had been cancelled. But I'm looking forward to your next two!
(PS: I love your Wall-E icon too! What a wonderful movie)

I am excited for Jellyrolls too - I have heard so much about it!

Usually I think plain old pancakes are too indulgent for breakfast, but I somehow managed to scarf those down! :crazy2:

I love pineapple...maybe I'll convince Jakkie to get those so I can try them ;)
I used to love Air Tran - they were so inexpensive and easy to deal with - but I'm really frustrated with the drastic flight changes and cancellations this year. I really hope I can get my money back for that return flight.

Your plans sound so much fun!!

Thanks! I can't wait. Jack is already sick to death of hearing me go on and on about the trip! I was fussing at him yesterday because since he is arriving a day before our Beach Club reservation I can't get him on Magical Express and I was obsessing over the best way to get him to WDW from MCO. I think I am just going to tell him to bring $60 and jump in a cab.

Thank you for bringing that up - I just checked online and it looks like you're right! I am trying to avoid eating much at DHS because I'm not a big fan of their food (except Sci-Fi milkshakes....amazing!). I tweaked my plans a bit, now we will have dinner at Kimonos the next day. Makes more sense actually, since we'll be spending that afternoon hanging out at the pool. :thanks:

I know that I didn't have much free time when I worked at Disney, but I often kick myself for spending four months there and not even checking out all of the resorts! I have also never seen Fort Wilderness, All-Star Sports & Movies, Pop Century, or the Swan and Dolphin.

You have much to do then! You can walk from WL to Fort Wilderness, which we have never done but will eventually, or take the boat. It's a beautiful campground. At Christmas time, many of them decorate their campsites, and it is so cool!

Pop Century - go have your picture made with Goofy at the pop jets and then sit by the pool eating your tie-dyed cheesecake. Do the Hustle with cast members, or play ping pong, or hula-hoop.

All-Stars are neat, too, and have many good photo spots. Lots of cute icons.

We've never been to Swan or Dolphin, either. We were going to run through them this summer, but even ten days is not enough for everything on the list, so that got scratched. We'll get there eventually.

Of course, you'll be at Wilderness Lodge, so you may never want to leave the premises to go see anything else! I hope to be able to stay there someday, so I will enjoy seeing all of your pictures as I am dreaming of that time.

Can you get Jack on ME to WL? Will he be staying there with you? Just let them know you have a guest change, that would sure save some money for him.

If that doesn't work, you should research a car rental. Not sure how old Jack is, less if >25y/o, but a one day car rental would be cheaper than $60, then you would have a car for your move to BC. National is at the Swan or Dolphin, so it would be easy to drop off the car after you check in.

Your plans sound great! I have never seen pancakes like that ever! I would say my 12DS would love them as they are pancakes but he might not be able to get it down with the colors... (he is soooo picky and even after making green eggs and ham himself would not eat them).

ooo i like reading your trip reports, they're fun! sounds like you guys are going to have a great time.

I know, I can't believe I have spent so much time in WDW and there are still so many things I haven't done! I can't wait to see WL. The pictures I have seen look great but so many people say that photos don't do it justice.

I'll have to try ME again - that would be ideal. I looked into National, and their cars were about the same price as the taxi, but I liked the idea of having a car to move to the Beach Club, so I started hemming and hawing about it. Finally Jack just said "It is your vacation, I will be fine, don't worry about having to drive on your vacation" It is a really good option that I had not thought of though. I am really glad to know there is a car rental place at the Swan should we need it. Thanks!

I had green eggs and ham at the Dr. Seuss land at Universal! I was so excited but I wish the ham was green too, not just the eggs. for some reason I had it in my mind that they were both green. Although now green ham does not sound that appetizing!
I didn't get the green eggs and ham at IHOP because the green in the eggs was spinach...I hate spinach!

ooo i like reading your trip reports, they're fun! sounds like you guys are going to have a great time.

Thank you! I am sure we will. I cannot wait!! 18 more days!
I just took the day before we leave off from work - it will be nice to relax that day, since we have to get up around 5 AM on Saturday to go to the airport :crazy2: I also will help Jack pack then, because he is not into packing (he told me he is going to bring one change of clothes and a toothbrush!). I also will take that day to go to the DMV and have my new car registration stickers replaced - they came in the mail and I threw them out

Last night I was flipping through all the upcoming What Not To Wear episodes on my cable guide so that I could set a reminder for your episode. My husband was like, wow, you really want to watch that particular episode, huh? (I had to scroll through about 15 to get to yours) I told him that it was a girl from the disboards so I had to watch it, and he just started cracking up laughing. I think he thinks I belong to a cult...
