What music makes you weep?

I can't believe that I didn't think if this when we were doing the movies, but when I hear John Barry's soundtrack to "Somewhere In Time", I get choked up. Same with the soundtrack of "Saving Private Ryan"

How about you?

Sandy

The song Amazing Grace. I always cry when I hear that song.

A country song that was on the radio a year or two back. I think the name was "Don't laugh at me"

don't laugh at me
don't call me names,
don't get your pleasure from my pain,
deep inside we're all the same,
someday we'll all have perfect wings, don't laugh at me

I heard Bill Withers' Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone a few minutes ago and I had the urge to cry.:o Many songs get me misty eyed.:o

Josh Groban "To Where You Are" http://www.joshgroban.com/

Garth Brooks' "I've Got Friends in Low Places" (a favorite of a friend who died 9 years ago...) and "The Dance"

Celine Dion "Because You Loved Me"

Lee Greenwood "God Bless the USA"

and Ave Maria

Soundtracks??

The Sound of Music
My Fair Lady
Sleepless in Seattle

ummmmmmmmmmmm....lots of music makes me weepy I guess ;)

"The Star Spangled Banner"
"Ohio"

I'll be home for Christmas. gets me almost every time. :(

Most of those already mentioned, especialy "I'll be home for Christmas".

The other day I heard John Lennon's "Give Peace A Chance" the other day, and in light of what is happening here in the D.C. area, it made me weep. I think I needed to do that. :( Such fitting words for such a troubled world.

Taps

She didn't know she kissed a hero (I think that's the name- I heard this song ONCE and have avoided it ever since)

Mermaid, that one gets me immediately.

Three songs will bring tears to my eyes...Color my World by Chicago...Seasons in the Sun...and the instrumental Music Box Dancer. These songs remind me of my first dh who was killed in a motorcycle accident at age 32, eighteen years ago. Our two children were the light of his life.

Amazing Grace for me as well....I don't know what it is about that song, it just gets me!

RAP....I could cry every time I have to listen to it!

Seriously, quite a few of the ones already mentioned: Taps, Amazing Grace, Little Drummer Boy, I'll Be Home For Christmas. (Plus a lot of others).

I forgot to mention "If Tomorrow Never Comes" by Garth Brooks as well.

"Always Thought that I'd See You Again" by James Taylor.

"Colors of the Wind" from Pochohantas. (Has to be the one from the movie. Vanessa Williams' rendition, although nice, doesn't invoke the same emotions for me.)

"Wind Beneath My Wings" sometimes does it for me.

Sorry, I can't say "Amazing Grace" makes me cry, unless they are tears of dread. I really, really don't like that song. Never have. It's kind of like cantelope for me. I like the smell of that melon, but I can't get over the taste of it. Blech. I know I should try to like Amazing Grace, just can't get past the mecabre of it.
