What Means "Ay, Caramba?"--Famous for Family of the Day!,Sept TR-Cape May HooRay 4/14

I stare at the bulletin board everytime I ride COP! I'm always hoping to catch something new... I have this fantasy of sneaking my Christmas card photo up there!

Tony's... It always starts out on my list of restaurants but eventually gets cuts. We've been a few times and I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Nice to know they are willing to help create a custom dish!

I love the idea of surprising your family with the dessert party! There's no way I'd be able to keep it a secret!

My favorite photo from your updates is the one at the end with the kids sleeping on the bed... Even Duffy is exhausted! So cute!

I just read Dani's update and now yours, so cool. More awesome photos, hope you don't get tired of hearing that over and over and over again!! The dessert party looks like a lovely, relaxing way to catch the fireworks. Trying to maneuver a double stroller into fireworks position is nearly impossible as I'm sure you know! During a Christmas party, we got stuck and had to to just stay put until it was over! Definitely need to try this someday!

Sawyer looks pretty full of desserts in his picture, he looks to me like he's debating whether or not he can finish! So many yummy treats!!

ETA- And that comment about Brynn, so weird, who says stuff like that. Oh wait, that could totally be my dad! He's kind of a rough Montana cowboy type and he's sometimes a little gruff and clueless. He says the most awful things that make me cringe but he doesn't mean them bad. Glad the guy followed up with the beautiful comment, maybe he was just having a stupid moment.

I love this update so, so much. It brings back so many good memories, and just makes me very happy. I love Brandon's photos, especially the one of Danielle with Brynn and Sawyer, and the ones of me and Julia. You guys are all just the best, and we're so lucky to know you!

And I second Danielle's sentiment that it's really fun to see what you guys were up to while we were elsewhere. Love this concurrent trip report thing.

I can't wait for your next update, since it'll be about one of my favorite days! :cloud9:

Looks like such a fun filled day. I love reading your TR and Dani's TR and seeing both sides of what you were doing each day. :)

I love, love, love the picture at the end of all the kids fast asleep. So wiped out from a totally fun day at Disney.

Tony's looks like it was cool place to eat. I always try to add it on but it always gets replaced be someplace else. Maybe one of these days we will actually eat there. I love that fountain of Lady and the Tramp and the stained glass window.

Brandon took some amazing pictures, especially the ones of the balloons. :goodvibes

I am going to be doing the Dessert party for the first time ever and hearing about it from you and Dani is getting me even more excited to go. That is so awesome that you kept it a surprise from your whole family.

Okay Sawyer sounds so cute with the whole answering the questions on the Laugh Floor and keeping everyone entertained around you. Also how he heard Dani scream and proceded to tell her over and over about it. :)

Great update. Looking forward to the next one. :goodvibes

What we failed to think of was that it was sort of windy...and when you walk in wind with balloons, you (and anyone near you) get beaten about the head with said balloon...over...and over...

At least it was comical.

[/B]

One of my favorite moments at MK was when my DH got smacked in the face by a passing balloon. We'd actually been having a really bad morning, and then WHAM, out of nowhere, smacked in the face with a balloon. So. FUNNY.We could not stop laughing at the ridiculousness of it all.

He's rather wary of balloons now though. :rotfl:

So, like everyone else, I just have to say that the pictures are amazing!!! I especially love the ones with Julia and Matt. They look like they've been best friends forever. Lots of warm fuzzies in this update.

I think I actually knew about the post it note, because I know (in my brain filled with random Disney facts that are generally useless) that it's a reference to Marty Sklar, Disney Legend and former Imagineer who has helped open every Disney park around the world.

I feel like the first time we did Laugh Floor this past trip the people they picked were duds as well, except "that guy." Everyone just agreed with whatever the monsters said. The second time at least was soooo much better (and my joke was picked!), and then our last time was in the middle, not spectacular and not horrible.

We also ate at Tony's, and I enjoyed it! I was actually bummed they called our name so quickly because I wanted to keep watching the movie haha. Though even in December the cheesecake was still pumpkin. I'm not a huge pumpkin fan to begin with, but I also feel that by December, the "seasonal" flavor should have changed to eggnog. Or at least peppermint. But preferably eggnog. Can you guess what my favorite Christmas treat is? :goodvibes

I seriously considered the dessert party and for some reason decided not to.:confused3 Boy did I wish I had our last night, because it was after the parade taping and the park was PACKED. Next trip for sure. Especially since I really don't care about seeing MSEP.

On this past trip, we used a FP+ to sit in the Rose Garden and had a dessert party. We actually rather the Rose Garden over the dessert party because you are closer and (for our group at least) you could sit on the grass to enjoy the show where at the dessert party you are told when you go in that most people will go to the railing for Wishes and you may stand at the railing as well.

Just wanted to share....

What a great update - glad you enjoyed Tony's. Funny how sometimes staff want to be accommodating and say "yeah, sure, no problem to bring that giant stroller in!" ... without thinking about what the implications of that are. Though, you would think Disney would be used to it and have a dedicated area for people with sleeping kids in strollers.

"I heard you screammmmm!!!!" ... now that could lead to some real awkwardness if he says that to a couple coming out of the resort room next to you one morning or something ;-)

Definitely get the "OHMYGOODNESSMOMMYGOTTAHAVEABALOONRIGHTNOW!!!!!" .... we, of course, had to get the Tinker Bell one - not because it had Tinker Bell on it but because it was the most sparkly one

Kids crashing hard after a long day at the parks are the norm here too. Love the pic of all them crashed on the bed. Definitely a challenge on the bus ride home tho. Great update and you got me hook on Dani's TR too.

Thanks for this!!! I did attempt to get a FP+ that night, but of course it said nothing was available. Which I figured would happen, but thought I'd give it a shot anyway. You do make a valid point about being able to spread out (and it's free, which is always a bonus)

What a nice surprise to come home to after my crazy snow filled day!! I still think it is soooo awesome that you and Dani and Matt and your family got to spend so much time together !! and there is a picture of Brynn looking at Danni during the dessert party that literally makes my heart melt- B has a look of pure admiration and you can just tell D is amazing with the kiddies.

Cracking up about Sawyer in the Laugh Floor, kid seems like a complete trip. LoL!!
My kids adore Dani and Matt. They're great judges of character :thumbsup2.
Sawyer IS a complete trip! He cracks me up constantly. He's my source of entertainment.

I feel like I need to catch up now! Lol! Then again, if we were all at the same part in the TRs, mine would be much further along! Lol I had no idea there were bathrooms back there, note taken!

I love Push! So sad I missed him that trip! Awwe, glad to hear Julia had fun this time around! Oh my gosh I feel like that Sawyer on Buzz photo is a bit of a repeat, bahaha, how cute!

Yay! Dismeet! Bahah, that picture!! Lol It just doesn’t want to be found! I’ll see if I can find it…yeah…no such luck as of yet..I have no idea where I saved it too…I’ll search around for it!

Can I just say how much I appreciate that your kids have SEEN lady and the tramp! I have friends that haven’t even seen it, it really doesn’t get enough appreciation! Glad you guys enjoyed the food, and how cute Julia saved a piece of pizza!

PUMPKIN ANYTHING IS JUST AMAZING. AND ITS SO CUTE! Okay, clearly I need to go back to Tony’s next fall just for this!!

….I’m not kidding when I say I just showed off those balloon photos to everyone in the room, there’s something about Disney and balloons that’s just awesome!

Aasdaskfmdgfklmadgkad THAT PARTNERS STATUE PICTURE….it is now saved on my computer…and will be my new background in a matter of minutes!

Oh that Mickey confetti is gold to twenty somethings too…I once jumped around trying to catch it after Move It Shake it and the super attractive Stitls guy grabbed a bunch for me… #bestdayever….ahaha, its now up on my wall!

Like, seriously that ride photo…like…I would frame that forever…it’s so priceless!

That’s a gorgeous picture of you infront of the castle from the dessert party! So pretty! Arrrrgg those photos of matt and dani with the kids are SO CUTE! They all look like they’re having so much fun!

Yay Susie!!

You guys have the best photos…for serious…also…I’M SO EXCITED FOR WHEN YOUR VIDEO IS DONE!
Glad I could let you in on a bathroom secret, lol!
I thought that putting the Partners picture on your desktop was genius...so I did it, too!! I can't believe we can't find that silly picture. I guess I could take a screen shot of it from my Instagram, but that would probably be horrible quality, if I could even find it on there! The original ipad I had taken the photo on broke, so it got replaced. No more camera roll from the trip :(.
I love balloon photos, too. Like, whoa. That's why I included so many of them. They just make me so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait for the video, too. Unfortunately, Brandon had a wreck this week, so the stress of that sort of took up his working time. WOMPWOMP! Hopefully he'll be done sooner rather than later, though.

Surprise, surprise... I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS UPDATE! Oh my gosh, it really is SO much fun reading things from your end and seeing what you guys were up to when we were doing something else. Plus the photos! I LOVE the photo of Brynn and Sawyer looking at me while we're just chatting away at the party, since we are confirmed BFFs these days. Basically I just really adore your whole family, but you already know that.

I'm so glad you were able to surprise Brandon and the kids with the Dessert Party! It was such a good surprise, too. We had so much fun with you guys that evening, and Sawyer on Monsters Inc. was the best thing.. well that and "I HEARD YOU SCREEEEAAAAM!" Oh my gosh that boy is too precious. So funny, I can just picture his little face and his voice saying that over and over again. It was the cutest.

Sorry, but I just love this update so much. Also, Brandon is such a pro at capturing some of the best moments on camera, I love it. :goodvibes
My kids just love you guys. You can so tell it just by looking at them, but I'm guessing you probably realized it as soon as they started insisting on holding hands:goodvibes.
The dessert party was really great, and I'm glad I could do that for the sake of the kids (and me!). Next trip, though, we might skip it. Julia wanted so badly to do California Grill last trip, if you remember, and then they opened up reservations so close to our trip and we didn't even know if they'd open in time. The ressies went quickly, and the only times they had were times where we'd have to totally rearrange our plans, which we couldn't do that close to the trip. All that rambling to say that I promised her we'd go there this trip, booking the full 180 days in advance, and we'll watch the fireworks from up there. Seeing the fireworks with ease is our one requirement, wherever we see them, but chances are that since we'll be dropping some major money to eat there, we won't spend money to do the dessert party. Still, it will be a special event. The dessert party was even more special for us because you guys were there:love:.
BTW, Sawyer STILL tells us that he heard you scream. Still. It made a real impression on him, lol!!

My favorite photo from your updates is the one at the end with the kids sleeping on the bed... Even Duffy is exhausted! So cute!

I HAVE THAT SAME FANTASY!!! Glad I'm not the only one!
It was hard to keep it a secret, especially with how much Julia likes to "help" plan things. She noses around in everything! This was not the last surprise I pulled off, either:thumbsup2. I was patting myself on the back this trip.
I love that photo, too. Just about sums it up, doesn't it?! Great day.

He says the most awful things that make me cringe but he doesn't mean them bad. Glad the guy followed up with the beautiful comment, maybe he was just having a stupid moment.
Oh, I know the double stroller agony! It really is imperative that we aren't in crowds for things like fireworks and parades. Brynn has trouble enough with just the noise level and not knowing what comes next. If there are people crowding her, she wouldn't be able to handle it at all. We had only seen fireworks previously (with Brynn, at least) from the very front of the park near the train station, since everyone crowds near the castle and on Main Street. It was so nice to be closer. Sawyer WAS debating in that picture! As much as he tries, he's kind of like me--not too huge on pastries and desserts. After this, he asked for fruit and ate an entire plate of grapes, pineapples, and watermelon. He can handle any amount of fruit you throw at him, but only a bite of anything full of sugar. He doesn't even finish cookies, usually!! That's why I'm glad the cake pops at Starbucks were a snack option. A small bite of cake is perfect for him.
And, yeah, it was a strange comment, but my Dad is exactly like yours, and it really reminded me of something he'd say. I don't think he meant anything negative at all. It was just odd wording. But then again, I am known for sticking my foot in my mouth, so who am I to judge?!?:rotfl:

I love this update so, so much. It brings back so many good memories, and just makes me very happy. I love Brandon's photos, especially the one of Danielle with Brynn and Sawyer, and the ones of me and Julia. You guys are all just the best, and we're so lucky to know you!

I can't wait for your next update, since it'll be about one of my favorite days! :cloud9:
There's another photo of you and Julia that didn't post. I need to find it, or Brandon will. It is even better.
Our kids just adore the two of you more than you'll know. (So do we!) You can tell by their looks that they admire you and are hanging on your every word. That's kid love right there.
I am loving the concurrent TR, too! I am not as fast at updating as Dani is, so I'm going to have to stick with it to stay semi-caught up!
This was one of my top moments of the trip, and of course I loved the entire next day, as well. Can't wait to re-live it!!

Looks like such a fun filled day. I love reading your TR and Dani's TR and seeing both sides of what you were doing each day. :)

Tony's had made our list before and gotten cancelled. I'm glad we finally got to try it! It was very nice, and most importantly, it had things our kids would eat!!:lmao:
You will LOVE the dessert party! It's just such a special way to enjoy Wishes.
Sawyer is definitely the entertainer of our group. And he does not disappoint the rest of the trip, either ;).

Great pics! :goodvibes
Thanks! I love having Brandon as my personal photographer!

:rotfl:
Haha, I hope the people our balloons hit also thought it was amusing!:rotfl2: We really just had to grab the balloon up near where it was tied as we walked (not easy while pushing strollers) because the strings were so long that they could reach across Main Street and whack somebody:lmao:!

So, like everyone else, I just have to say that the pictures are amazing!!! I especially love the ones with Julia and Matt. They look like they've been best friends forever. Lots of warm fuzzies in this update.

Julia and Matt definitely had an instant connection. They're old pals now.
I feel like I knew about the post it note in reference to Marty Sklar--I think I read it in Hidden Secrets book maybe?--but it was so cool to see all the other pictures and notes. Like what does it even mean to email a vet appointment!?!:rotfl2:
Laugh Floor definitely depends a huge bit on who's in the audience with you. We go in there a million times per trip, and each time is different.
Hmmm...sort of odd that it was pumpkin in December. I'd think they'd at least change it to gingerbread or peppermint or cinnamon? It can't really be called seasonal when it's still Fall flavors. It was good...but still.
The dessert party was really nice, I have to say. And it's not horribly expensive, either. It was a great treat.

On this past trip, we used a FP+ to sit in the Rose Garden and had a dessert party. Just wanted to share....
We weren't in on the FP+ testing this trip, but that's a great option for our next trip!

What a great update - glad you enjoyed Tony's. I was confused by our seating mostly because there were so many empty tables and better options! They obviously just weren't thinking about logistics. You're right, though--they should be used to it.
:rotfl: HAHAHA! Yeah, I find that my kids know how to pick an awkward phrase to yell on a regular basis!
We had to get the Princess one because it was "fanciest." And it was also $2 more. I had a $20 bill, and with the balloon Brynn picked and the fancy Princess balloon, the total was $22. That's why I had to raid the quarters. There were some people who walked by as we were buying the balloon who talked about how they didn't know why parents would ever pay that much for a balloon. Well, guess what? Fancy Princess balloon is still floating three months later. And can you put a price on happiness, anyway?!

Kids crashing hard after a long day at the parks are the norm here too. Love the pic of all them crashed on the bed. Definitely a challenge on the bus ride home tho. Great update and you got me hook on Dani's TR too.
It just means they had lots of fun!
I'm glad you're reading Dani's TR! She's a hoot!

Thanks for this!!! I did attempt to get a FP+ that night, but of course it said nothing was available. Which I figured would happen, but thought I'd give it a shot anyway. You do make a valid point about being able to spread out (and it's free, which is always a bonus)
Free is good. It'll be nice to actually have FP+ next trip so this will be an option.

OHHHH....your trip reports makes me so excited I feel like I just spent the day with yall at DW.
I haven't responded to any updates in forever so here I goooo.

First of all hope your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!

Loved little Brynn's haircut...she looks so grown up in the picture with her mickey ears on. :goodvibes Also, good prize choices for all the kids!

I for one, at first, hated that Starbucks was being brought in to Disney. But let me tell you the joy of walking in and being able to get Starbucks first thing on a day in the park!!!! Pure awesomeness!!!! Life Saving!!!

The story about Push had me cracking up along with Sawyer taking over Monsters Laugh Floor!!! What a cute kid!!! I'm going to have to start doing my trips in September so I can tag along with your family.

I definitely just told my sister about using change for the balloons. She always, always wants one (she's 22) and I always, always talk her out of it. But I feel if we use all of our change it won't be like were spending real money. Right?:rotfl2:

And nothing better than sweet sleepy babies after a good day at Disney World!:goodvibes

Ready for the next update popcorn::

yeah, at least those are definitely quality balloons. We even wound up looking up the policy for taking balloons on airlplanes to bring ours back :rotfl:

We wound up deflating it but Olivia now proudly has it tacked to her bedroom wall ... and peter enjoys playing with the Mickey balloon weights :goodvibes

Brynn and Julia look SO adorable in their matching dresses! And Brynn's glasses!!:cool1:

I'm a CA native so I had no idea that the dessert package was even an option last time we went...now I know to plan for our next trip! Thanks :thumbsup2

These have to be some of the best Push photos I`ve seen due to capturing the bystanders moreso than Push. Otherwise it`s just looks like a picture of a trashcan. :rotfl:

Yay Dismeet with Katt!! But no photo... it didn't happen. Keep looking!!

Haha for the record, the shiny Mickey heads are also gold for some in the over 8 set as well. Just sayin`. :rolleyes1

WOW this is just so cool that I literally just read Dani`s story about this very same evening. Surreal but awesome!

so many things to comment on!! we've never seen PUSH before--so cute! and all three of them on the seat together on the people mover is so adorable!

another thing we've never done--eat at tony's. it all looked pretty good, but I thought that pumpkin mousse looked soooo yummy! and the picture of the lady and the tramp fountain is beautiful!

we learned our lesson with double strollers and balloons last trip. we were there over thanksgiving and it was SO crowded. I can't tell you how many times we got stuck places because we couldn't get through with that huge stroller. then one day we got balloons (2 of course) and tied them to the stroller. when one wasn't hitting us in the face, the other one was and it made it even harder to get around. we realized that, while so pretty, those balloons were a pain in the tushie! :rotfl:

I love that picture from space mountain! hilarious!!!! and I adore the pictures of the kids with dani and mat. you can just tell that they all get along so great!

love the pics from the dessert party. we are doing it next trip and I can't wait! all the kids look so serious about their choices. and sawyer looks like just the thought of eating one more bite of a dessert will exhaust him. love it!

my favorite picture is the last one of kids all crashed out and randomly laying on beds. it reminds me of my favorite pic from our last trip. we got back really late and the kids pretty much just passed out where they fell. our oldest refused to let us wash her facepaint off, so she had a tiger face still. our youngest refused to let us finish changing her into pj's and fell asleep with no pjs on. they are both laying across the bed and are surrounded by Disney stuffed animals and dolls. it was a perfect picture!

Tony's does get a bad rap but it's a must-do for my girls. We always get spaghetti & meatballs just like Lady and Tramp. I've thought about making reservations for a parade time and getting a table on the front porch, that would be fun.

"I have always wondered what's on the bulletin board, so he did a zoom shot so I could see! Ever since, we have a new inside joke--Marty called. Wants changes. I know it's one of those stupid things that only the people who use the joke understand, but since I report everything, I'm throwing in that tidbit."

I'm guessing this is a reference to Marty Sklar? I love it when they use imagineers' names/images in attractions. I love everything about COP, even the last scene. We make fun of it because it's so cheesy but we'd be sad if they updated it.

That pic of the kids passed out on the beds is awesome!
