I would love to hear what meals and snacks everyone loves! We are planning on a trip in late Aug and we are trying to figure out what table service, counter and snacks are a must do!!

Ohhhhhh, I love food threads!

We have booked dinner at Big Thunder Mountain BBQ for one night, apparently the AYCE ribs and chicken are amazing, and I love me some corn bread :)

We have also booked Blue Bayou for one dinner, because I like the ambiance and the food, but many people are divided on that front. Lots of people say Cafe Orleans is equally as good and better value.

I really like Churros, and Dole Whips, and pretzels.

We have also booked Minnie and Friends breakfast at the Plaza inn one day for a character breakfast, which I've heard is very good.

An absolute must and hidden treasure are the Mickey Beignets at the Mint Julep Bar in New Orleans Square. The mint juleps are good as well.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^

Another must for us is the fried chicken at Plaza Inn.

I tried Cafe Orleans for the first time last year and ordered their Garlic fries and let me tell you they were to die for........PHENOMENAL!!

We tried tigger tails (sold in the store by the pooh ride) and Matterhorn macaroons (jolly holiday bakery) on our last trip and they're my new favorites!!

I need to stop reading these threads because my list of "must try" meals keeps getting longer and longer... things that I'm planning to try because of DISboards:
Matterhorn macaroon
Corn dog
Pommes frites
Monte christo @ blue bayou
Fried green tomato sandwich
Fried chx @plaza

Other random food I'm planning 2 eat in October:
Mickey pretzel
Soup in a bread bowl
Churro
Dole whip float

Would love to try btrbbq but that's the one restaurant I'd feel weird going to solo, since they serve everything family style.... has anyone dined there alone?

I love:

Frozen bananas
Popcorn
Vegi crudités
Pot roast at the plaza
Clam chowder bowl at the harbor galley
Burritos at rancho del zocalo in frontierland
Churros

We like the Beignets outside the park at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express (in DTD) better than the ones that you find in New Orleans Square.

Loaded baked potato soup at the Carnation Cafe :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

The corn bread at the BBQ is awesome!

Corn Dogs - superior

Monte Cristo - I actually found it a bit too sweet for my liking.

Pacific Wharf Café:
Shrimp Louie in a bread bowl, Yummo!
Baked Potato soup in a bread bowl

White Water Snacks: ( at the Grand Californian Hotel )
Chicken Nacho's Yummo! Nice and quiet, nice break from the parks
Storytellers: Anything, great place to have a meal

Disneyland:
Plaza Inn: Fried Chicken
Café Orleans: Pommes Frites, Gumbo, Mickey Beignets

Have fun!

I'll pay someone to be in their family so I can go with them to Big Thunder Mountain BBQ with them and get cornbread. :wave2::)

I do like these ones too; had them for the first time last year. They are more like what I think the authentic ones in New Orleans would be like but I would go for either version right about now. :hyper:

Meals - Anything from Carthay Circle, Anything from Jazz Brennan's Kitchen , Anything from Catal's, some items from Napa Rose, lunch menu from Storyteller's Cafe and the chicken salad in a sough dough bowl from Pacific Wharf.

Snacks - Chocolate/Caramel covered Pretzel Rod, Churros, Beignets ONLY from Jazz Brennan's Kitchen, Variety of Candied covered Apples (mostly chocolate covered) and MINT CHOCOLATE covered Popcorn.

There is truly so many wonderful things to enjoy at the parks, the resorts, and DTD. I'll just name a few:

Uva Bar: garlic fries
WWS: chicken nachos
Cove Bar: lobster nachos
Hearthstone Lounge: sliders and shrimp cocktail
Plaza Inn: fried chicken
Bengal BBQ: everything

beignets
popcorn
Dole Float
churros
Mickey pretzels
caramel apples
dark chocolate rocky road from the Candy Palace
corn dogs
pickles
pineapple spears
Gibson Girl ice cream
Starbucks
clam chowder in a bread bowl

I love the corn chowder at Storyteller's! Their spaghetti and steak are great, too. Actually, everything is great there. Love the English toffee from the candy store. And, there is something fantastic about the popcorn at the end of Main Street. Oh, yes, the corn dogs from the truck at the other end of Main Street are great, but the wait is looooong!

I'm no foodie so hardly qualified to comment, but a few my thoughts...

I love the pizza at Naples, but it's because I feel that way in general about Neapolitan style pizza.

Blue Bayou in general is a lot of money for what it is, but the atmosphere is worth experience at least once if you've never been.

I feel as if the food at Goofy's Kitchen isn't exactly the best, but still I find myself dropping in every time I'm in Disneyland. I think it's a great place to go on your first day to sort of kick-start things -- we usually go straight there from the airport after checking in. It helps to get you in the right kind of mood to enjoy everything.

Also, not sure if this counts, but I find myself buying a lot of fresh fruit from the stands they have around the park... it's super refreshing, surprisingly affordable, and really good at keeping you going between larger meals.

Oooh,I haven't heard about the mint chocolate popcorn before. Where can I find that?

I love the turkey sandwich and crispy chicken sandwich at Hungry Bear. I am in the minority here, but we like Village Haus burgers. There is nothing special about them at all but we like them (maybe its more that we always eat there on our visits, so it is sentimental). Snacks- we always get churros, popcorn and ice cream from Gibson Girl. And every treat that we have tried at the Jolly Holiday has been great!
