What Makes DVC "Magical" or Not?

The magic is the pressure it relieved. No more worry about having to do EVERYTHING every time we go to WDW, because we know we'll be back there very soon.

Like everything else Disney - what you make of it.

It is magical for us because we always stay in deluxe villas, love Disney and are committed to going twice every year, so on and so on. It will not be magical if looked at as an investment, or expected to make vacations cummulatively cheaper. You save greatly on accomodations if you stay in deluxe villas already, but you also have to add in all the extra costs associated with the extra trips that you will be taking. It is magical to us because we fit all of these criteria...

I think it's in the eye of the beholder. For me, some things are "Magical." For instance, we have a house in Cape May that we bought with my DSis. This was bought in '98, we bought DVC in '03. Ever since we bought DVC, my house in Cape May has been "our very own Grand Villa" by the sea in my thoughts. The house is still the house on some level, but DVC has made it magical for me because it's a place that we can share what we have with family and friends. It's DVC's connection with the magic of WDW that helps me associate many gatherings of family and friends as being "Magical."

We take other, wonderful vacations. Last year I visited Poland on a Baltic Cruise. This was the land of our heritages, DH's and mine. That was aweome and moving, it connected me with roots and was spiritual. Natual wonders make me feel that way. This year, DH and I will go to Glacier NP and I expect to be moved, but not to feel magic.

Anyway, I never gave "Magical" much thoughts until DVC, and I used to go to WDW lots. So, DVC, in particular our very first GG celebrating DM's 85th birthday party was the start of my adventure with the "Magical!" I hope these times continue!

Magical:
1. The fact that I could pick between so many wonderfully themed WDW deluxe resort to stay in every year.
2. I don't have to worry about pin codes or free dining
3. $100 off AP :)
4. I can plan big family gatherings every year with our points and not worry about spending $10000 for hotel rooms
5. If I can't use my points for whatever reason, I can rent my points for a pretty decent price. At least covers the purchase price and MF for that year.

Not:
Yearly MF... ugh

The CM's make it magical.... It doesn't matter how nice the accommodations or how much money you save. If you have to deal with inconsiderate, rude, I hate my job, I don't want to be here, "no soup for you" Cast Members then it really spoils the trip.... "Welcome Home" :thumbsup2

I don't know that I would call owning DVC *magical* for me but I would say it rocks!!! :woohoo: Best vacation money ever spent. I am guaranteed fabulous accommodations at WDW and for now can trade out, which we have.

Having a big part of any vacation paid for is a huge benefit. :thumbsup2

What makes it magical for me is that it feeds my Disney obsession!!!:lmao:

I love knowing that things are set for my vacations for years to come. No more reading the resort boards and feeling envy for all those getting pin codes as I sat there with no discounts.

DVC is magical for me because it makes us take vacations, we have guaranteed deluxe room - that we love - at different themed resorts for every trip if we want.

Again, DVC is what you make of it

1. Being able to have wonderful living quarters for our family of 7 (and guests)
and not worrying about paying for it (since it was pre-paid).
2. Being able to make every visit a relaxing "resort" visit and not all park time since we will be back soon.
3. Being able to bless others who could other wise not stay in these resorts.
4. AP discount
5. Being able to plan ahead and look forward to several trips a year!

It forces me to take a vacation...something I would probably say I couldn't afford to do...and it makes my DD smile :goodvibes every August...she knows it's DisneyTime

Magically

1. Knowing we can go to WDW every year without spending countless hours looking for a deal
2. A more relaxed pace since we know we will be back
3. Being able to take extended family (or not!)
4. AP discount

Imagine Tinker Bell driving a huge truck which backs up to your house and unloads tons of pixie dust. That's DVC.

There are so many things that make it magical for us! :woohoo: The most magical thing for us is that we can take family and friends with us and share the deluxe accommodations with them! :dance3:

We just love our DVC! :cheer2:

:) Walking into Kidani lobby in wonder and awe, then seeing Jambo's lobby for the first time and just standing there with mouth open :goodvibes. Being dropped at the #3 stop instead of #13 at the end of the road. AP's. Two trips in a year in 2011. Seeing DH use his camera equipment out on the balcony. Just sitting out on a "balcony" with my own fridge and cold drinks in freakin Disney World (not the usual ice bucket to cool the drinks). Being able to gift a studio to my MIL and see her smile. Seeing DH be excited as me and us both taking in that deep breath before we open the door to our studio the first time....then running to the balcony at age 41, looking back at him, saying "it is just like the pictures on the Internet". Being able to talk to a CM from Africa for an hour one morning. Having a purple box waiting for ME!! Having a bench while waiting on a bus at your resort. CM meeting and greeting you as you enter the building. DVC is Magical and having the opportunity to own time at a world class resort, just completely OFF THE HOOK, BABY!! :woohoo:
