I love to do laundry. I also am frugal and like to get great deals on detergent. I am not picky about brand, but I like All, Members Mark Tide and Aldi's Gain. I wash in cold and line dry most of our clothes. Line drying our clothes make them last forever and the colors never fade. We all have white towels so I wash those weekly in hot water with bleach. Not one stain and they look brand new going on 2 years. I do not use fabric softner. Waste of money to me.

We are not allowed to have clotheslines in our neighborhood, but I do have a drying rack I can set up in the bathroom and dry about half of my clothes on it. The remainder go in the dryer on low heat. I use All, as one family member is sensitive to Tide.

I do two large loads a day, the only things that I hang to dry are my old navy shirts, so inexpensive put such poor quality, they shrink up in the dryer. God forbid a towel gets used twice here. I’m fine with Kirkland detergent.

Tide.... only Tide...
I want my clothes to be clean!!!!
We use the FREE, because of sensitivity issues.

I also always dry my cloths in the dryer.
They are not going to be soft by hang drying.
Also, the sun can fade clothes if they are hung on a line out in the sun.
I also do not want pollen, molds, etc... in my clothing, sheets, and towels.

Tide with Oxi pods.

If I like the way something fits, I hang it to dry. We have a drying rack (a portable clothing rack on wheels). Everything else goes in the dryer.

Kirkland pods....hate the smell of Tide

No line drying.....way too hot to do that

My wife prefers Gain Liquid. She loves the smell. She even buys the vinyl floor cleaner made with the Gain scent!
We have a drying rack for some of dainty women's underwear.
Been in our house 35 years, we have never had a clothesline. With the birds, squirrels and currently, ash falling from all the brush and wildfire, our clothing would be dirty again before it dried it on a clothesline.

As a kid, we moved to a new house in 1960. New house had a dryer, which the old house did not. My mom was DELIGHTED never to have to use a clothesline again.

Tide works the best for us. I don’t line dry clothes but there are some I dry by hanging up inside for reasons others have said.

I use arm and hammer powder, I do not like the smell of any thing else.
I don't have an outdoor line, but I do air dry alot of clothes. It has nothing to do with saving money though. I never really thought about the cost of running a dryer, is it that significant?

I love the smell of Gain and that's usually what we use! We don't have a clothesline but I'm hoping to put one up next spring.

I use whatever detergent is cheap.

I have two foldable drying racks that I set up on the terrace or in the bathroom or kitchen if it's raining. I think I've run the dryer twice since New Year's.

We have a gas dryer. Our house came with that setup, and we would have to install a 220V setup for electric. Our gas dryer only needs 110-120V to mostly run the motor.

I air dry a bunch of clothes - most synthetics or synthetic blends. Maybe some really thin cotton. I find that polyester gets stiff from heat from the dryer, as well as pilling. One time my wife decided to put a polyester blanket in the dryer, and we’ve been slowly pulling off little lint balls ever since. That was never a problem before when I would hang it to dry. We have a rack though, and I’ll use a fan to speed it up drying.

I use Purex

I hang dry my stuff or lay flat within my house but it has zero to do with saving money and all to do with a good amount of my clothing advises to do that so I tend to just do it all. I do however use fabric softner.

The clothing I do dry in the dryer are pjs and underwear and socks otherwise everything else is hung dry or laid flat to dry.

It used to take a day to a day and a half for clothes to dry but ever since we got a front load HE washer my clothes come out sooo much less excess moisture on them thus they dry a lot faster.

We use the Gain pods. I think it gets our clothing just as clean as any other detergent, and I love the way it makes my clothes smell. We use the drier exclusively, we don’t have a clothes line.

I make my own laundry soap powder. Have for years. It costs 5 cents per load compared to 29 cents per load when I bought name brands. Our clothes are clean and I couldn't be happier. We also make a stain getter outer and it even gets out yellow arm pits stains on white tee shirts. Love DIY!

Whatever FREE detergent is cheapest due to sensitivity issues.
I hang a few things in the house because I don't want them to shrink, but I don't line dry.
