What kinds of snacks do you serve at a kids birthday?

It depends on the party time. If its like 2-4, people will only expect light snacks like fruit, chips, cheese and crackers, etc. If it is anywhere near a mealtime, say 3-5 or 11-1, people will be hungry. Pizza is easy and popular, as are chicken nugget trays or those tiny hawaiian bread sandwich trays.

Fresh fruits and veggies would suit a farm party well.

It's 1-3, so I feel like it's....past lunch time? So maybe just snacks? I asked on my local parents group & the majority said a 1pm party is Ok to just have snacks. Many also suggested to me that I note in the invitation that its "snacks & cake", so the parents know to feed their kids ahead of time.

Honestly? Not much. Kids will be too busy having fun. Cake and drinks was usual for all the parties my son attended. Occasionally individual ice cream cups. And if over a meal time then pizza. Please have water for those kids who don’t drink juice.

Fancy veggie trays or fruit trays are gonna go uneaten. If you want to ensure snacks then pretzels or smart pop or goldfish is plenty.

1-3 is definitely just snacks here. And yes I’ve seen cake will be served or cake and pizza will be served where applicable on most of the invites.

Then I would do age appropriate snacks - grapes, berries, cherry tomatoes, apple slices, cheese and crackers, etc. I always have the individual bags of cheetos, those are quite popular with the kids around here.

Here, pizza is served regardless of what time the party is.

pretzels, goldfish- no matter what time a party is here some type of meal food is served- at the very least pizza. 1:00 to use would be lunch time and would assume that some type of food would be served.

What time is it happening... this will determine your food needs, if you are near a meal time, then I would think about a meal options, mini sandwiches, or slidders, hotdogs, animal shaped chicken nuggets.

Sides -Chips, Fruit cups, veggie plate with some ranch, animal cookies, cheese sticks or baby bells.

Also will mom and dads be hanging around, you will need to include them in the food count.

Trail mix is a constant snack in addition to the fresh fruit and veggie platters this way. I always blanch the brocolli since I really don't like it raw unless it's in slaw. A cuke and yogurt or green goddess dip can be served in addition to to the ever popular ranch dip.
Many parents in my area are pretty health and allergy aware so there tend to be 2 different types of trail mix: one with nuts and one w/o.
Chips if served are often the vegetable type.

Finger sandwiches can frequently be found when a more substantive dish is needed; also chicken lollipops, wings with the least messy sauce and cold soups. I like to brine wings before baking them. If pizza is served as a meal it's often a pizza making party with lots of bowls of toppings so the kiddos can personalise their pie or slice.

Kids parties always serve a meal and it is usually pizza. It doesn’t matter what time. We have had 10 am parties with pizza. (Some do bagels if very early)
Also at that age parents stay around here too. So people order enough food and beverages to include the adults as well

1 to 3 screams lunch time to me!
Sometimes it is easier just to serve the pizza than come up with a bunch of snacks
