What kind of shopping is there at Disney?

I know there are the souvenir shops in all of the parks, but what other shopping around Disney is there? I'm taking my mom and thought that my husband could take our son(will be 1 yr by then) to some of the rides and let my mom and I shop. We're staying at the Grand Floridian and I know there are some shops in there, but what about the shops Downtown Disney (where is that btw?) and on the Boardwalk? Thanks!

The link above will give you all the answers you have about DD. My fav shop is THE WORLD OF DISNEY!! It's a Disney lovers dream!! DD is just like the parks as to where you need at least a day to have the full experience of it!!

Below will be two links for you. One is a map of the Disney resort and the other is a link to Beyond The Parks on the Disney site. If the first link doesn't work for you, try the 2nd and see how you do. The 2nd just gives you a little more info about DD.

If you have a car you might consider the Disney outlets. One is right near the Crossroads, not far from Disney property at all. The Belz outlet is similar, but more of a ride. They both carry Disney merchandise, either last seasons or discontinued items for MUCH less than you pay in the parks. We did all our souvenier shopping there and loved it! You can probably find more info on this topic on the Budget Board (that's where I heard about it and got driving directions). Have fun!
