I'll be going with my 11 & 6 yr old daughters. This will be our first trip with no stroller, no dad ( :Pinkbounc - we love him he just hates theme parks!), no grandparents!!! So while I'm psyched, I gotta carry everything! I need a waist pack that I can carry our cards/cash, sunscreen, small wipes, camera, h2o bottle, and a few other things....What do you guys use? I'm not a huge backpack fan, but I will if I can find a comfy one. Thanks :earsgirl:

I use a Mickey one that I got in the parks. It is a good size about 9" x 6", I can fit my wallet and digital camera in there, and there is still room for some other things. It has an outside compartment so you can put ID and credit cards in the slots and then have more room inside for other stuff. I usually use the drink straps for water. But I still use a backpack too. I put my video camera and 35mm SLR camera in there along with my sunscreen and it also holds our purchases or sweatshirts if we need them, but that is just me.

I carried a small backpack two years ago, similiar to what you see college students using. On our first couple of days, no problem. But each day, more and more was being stuffed in there until my two kids and my wife started calling me "Sherpa Daddy". The lesson is, the smaller the fanny pack, the less to lug around. You will get your priorities then. I would reccommend a fanny pack sold by "Cabela's". Its a basic fanny pack, but you can buy additional items (such as a water bottle etc) that securely snap on. The beauty is; if you are going to be gone all day and need alot of stuff, you snap it all on, if you only need the essentials, you can remove the non essentials.

I got a free pair of waist packs from American Express, still use them since 99'.

I do like the Fanny Pack I bought at the World of Disney. It is designed to open up completely and not have everything fall out. It has zippered compartments and such. It was large enough for my camera, wallet and misc stuff. I also carry a backpack for larger items

To me-the less to carry the better.
We took two fanny packs. Hubby had the camera, gum, money and a bottle of water in his. I had granola bars, a bandaid, advil, the passes and money in mine.

We put on sunscreen before we left. If kids wanted a sweater, they tied it around their waists or wore it. This was when we went to DLand. We stayed in a very close hotel, so could always go to the hotel if we needed sweaters or more sunscreen or something.

I didn't want to have a backpack to have to worry about when I was sitting on the rides. We found that was all we needed. Like someone else posted-the bigger the pack, the more you will find to stuff in it!

I highly recommend a "Roo" bag made by North Shore - I got mine at Dick's. It's about 11 inches long and about 4 inches deep. It has a really comfortable, wide belt, which can be looped through and you can carry it as a purse. I like it because I can put my cell, digital camera, wallet, change of clothes for my 3 year old, and some wipes and ziplocs in the main compartment, and put my keys, tickets, FPs, etc in the front pocket. I've also found a holder for my water bottle that I can clip on. While I've not yet taken it to WDW (leaving July 15), I've used it at Baseball games, football games, zoos, and plane trips. I think it's great.
