What keeps you coming back?

This is a fun one!

Does it get old? Nope, and non of my friends could understand why I keep going back to the same place. There's always something new to experience.

How does Disney feel to you, versus the first few visits? Disney feels more like home. I don't need park maps to get around. It still feels nice and clean but it seems more crowded.

How is your touring style different? What IS your touring style now? Used to be commando style. Now, I know if I miss something I will see it again. It makes the trips much more relaxing and enjoyable. Still get up for morning entry at the designated park, but I'm fine going back to the hotel in the afternoon to the pool, where in the early years I wouldn't dare give up park time.

What’s important to you on your stays, since that you’ve pretty much experienced it all? Experience more at the resorts (and am able to afford to stay at nicer places then 10 years ago). Dining is more of a priority now to sit and enjoy a good TS meal.

I'm right there with you Orange! Matter of fact, I took my responses and posted them on Facebook because I usually get some sort of comment from someone when they see we're at Disney like "Again, really?" lol

I can honestly say WDW hasn't gotten old for us. Buying into DVC speaks for that.

Every trip we do our favorite things - rides, shows, activities, etc., but we always manage to find or do something new that we weren't aware of or didn't have time to do before. It is also neat to see what things have higher priority with my DD's as they get older. My nieces and nephew and getting to be prime WDW first timer ages as well and that will be another new experience.

I have to say our touring style has turned from less commando to more relaxed. We definitely spend more time at the resort and relaxing on vacation, as we have a pretty good idea of what we want to do and when we want to do it in the parks. For us FP+ helps tremendously in this regard. Please - I don't want to start another FP+ pro vs con thread - I can see both sides (as I would love to FP+ both TT and Soarin and TSMM and RnRC too), but for now FP+ works for us while using our DVC.

One new thing is going during Spring Break for the first time in two weeks! Can't wait to get out of the freezer that Columbus has turned into.

Feels like home.
Have 4 trips booked this year, love the special events, star wars weekends, Halloween and Christmas.

O.k. all you UBER visitors :thumbsup2, why do you keep coming back year after year? I’m talking about those who make annual (or more) trips, for like 10+ years…

Does it get old? Yes, that's why we switched to every 2/3 years so many places to go and experience. I do miss going more often. We stopped going every year about 2001.

How does Disney feel to you, versus the first few visits? Its not home, but the MK holds so many memories of years past and when they flood back it gives me the warm fuzzies.

How is your touring style different? I love commando What IS your touring style now? Relaxed and smell the roses, unless its just me and my crazy sisters then it total open till kicking us out.

What’s important to you on your stays, since that you’ve pretty much experienced it all? Finding the new little things that I have never done. I do believe I will never get to spend the night in Cinderellas castle or buy in the club. But hey a grown princess can have dream right?

My mom likes to go because "she gets to PLAY!" We're park commandos every time we go because we have a great time on most attractions!

Also, the immersion that Disney does. Everything is themed down to the trash cans, and I don't know of any other place that completely transports you to a foreign or fantasy location like that.

Plus, the restaurants! The food offerings are a big part of the Disney experience, IMO. (mom goes straight for the Norwegian almond pretzels and French pastries in Epcot!)

It never gets old! This years trip will be trip #22 for me! What keeps me coming back is that feeling I get when I am seperated from reality and immersed in the Disney bubble 24/7 from the time I step on that Magical Express bus. The sights, smells and sounds at the resorts and parks. The attention to detail is just fascinating. Eventhough I have been so many times, there is always something I haven't done or seen or a detail that I always catch that I've never noticed.

I couldn't imagine staying off property and not taking the buses/boats/monorails each day. I get why people do, but to me, that is all apart of the immersive experience. I love staying at a resort I haven't stayed at before... this year will be Wilderness Lodge. I love waking up early in Disney and have no problem doing that at all.. It is not like being home and waking up for work. I can start my day with a nice breakfast and head to park ropedrop, leave the park midday to relax or swim and head back out at night. There is always something to do, even if it is just relaxing at the resort. No other place has given me the feeling that Disney has. Where I can be a kid again and all thoughts of reality are gone from my mind. All problems and stress back home go out the window. And this is why I literally cry when I have to leave to go home, that Disney depression keeps me coming back, wanting more!

It does feel like HOME! I walk off the DME bus and say to myself "I'm finally home" and I walk in Epcot and MK for the first time of the trip and say the same thing to myself. That feeling of being home.

Never gets old for me! The first time i went was when i was in high school back in the 70s! I look forward to walking down main street and seeing the castle everytime. And seeing the Haunted Mansion (my favorite). I went with dh back then and took our kids through the years. Planning on a family get together for Halloween and now my kids (lol) will be 30 and 25 when we vacation together then.

As much as my DH and I love our trips to WDW, our kids (DD 20 and DS 16) are the drivers to go back every year. We offer to take them other places, but they like taking their spring break at WDW. Here are a few reasons we keep coming back:
  • Even if the weather isn't good in FL, it's better than where we come from.
  • We know what we are doing so we don't spend too much time planning it. On the flip side, planning is a lot of the fun.
  • We know everyone will be happy, if not all the time, at least most of the time.
  • It's beautiful and there are lots of new things to do.
  • We usually find new things to do--new resort, restaurant ride, show, activity.

We add in other things on the trip, such as Universal and spring training too.

At this point, it is because we own DVC and we would have to come out of pocket with money to sell the contract. May as well use it. ;)

I don't dislike Disney World at all; I just don't care for all of the changes, cut-backs and price increases.

Others have already said what I would say. I boil it down to one simple thing.

I enjoy Disney World more because of how I FEEL when I am there than because of what I DO when I'm there.

We enjoy travelling to new places, and we try to do that a couple of times a year. But, Disney World is where we go to get that warm, comfortable feeling that you get from visiting an old friend, enjoying fun times with family and remembering the great times from previous trips. Not to mention that it can provide a great break from winter weather. It doesn't get old, it just gets more relaxing as we try new things and enjoy old favorites, comfortable in the knowledge that we will be back again before too long.

There is the magic and pixie dust that Uncle Walt and his staff of magicians created that never gets old and keeps reminding us that there is a bit of child in all adults! It can only be found in WDW and Disney parks around the world. No other parks come close.

Add ton that the joy and love in the children faces, as they meet the Disney characters, bring tears to our eyes every trip.

It never gets old, but it does get EXPENSIVE!!!:smooth:

On a serious note, we always manage to find SOMETHING new-with or without trying.

We do miss the spontaneity, though. Some of our best trips were just before they changed over to FP+ and we just decided to wing everything! Yes, it appears those days are gone...

Why do we keep going back? I think it's the nostalgia for us. We have such great memories as kids and when our kids were young (who are now 22, 20 and 11) that now we get to just spend time together, rather than racing to ride every ride. The rides almost become secondary to just taking it all in!

Since moving to FL a year and a half ago, our trips are now 3-5 days and we might throw one of those "other" parks in there  .

Last week we decided on a Sunday morning to go and less than 2 hours later we were in the car! That's spontaneity that Disney has not managed to take away! And on a positive note for FP+: it came in quite handy that day.

Does it get old?
Yes but just a little. I'd love to go back to Dollywood but I can't fly there, or get close enough.

How does it feel now?
Like home away from home, not quite as WOW but more like" I remember why I love you".

Touring style?
Now includes 3-4 hour afternoon siesta at my resort (switched from Value to Mods a couple of trips back, except for AoA which I tried last year)
I still hit RD and EMH RD:love: and close the park I'm in at night (MK in the dark-I hope that's what Heaven is like). I have always Park Hopped.
Happy to have FP+ and it doesn't break my heart if I only get on Soarin' or Peter Pan once or twice. I seem to spend more time at MK, don't know why??
I eat more CS and less TS. Smaller appetite and less planning 180 days out. I always do Boma (breakfast and dinner) and Crystal Palace though!

What's important?
Not allowing myself to get to tired I can't go to very late nights.
Not eating all the wrong things BUT getting a frozen banana at Dino, triple flavour Margarita at Mexico, beer at Rose&Crown, pretzel and beer at HS
Avoiding the really crowded times.
I'm kinda done with DTD, at least until construction is finished, I'm not a big shopper.
The Railroad and Monorail must be running! Love the boats to Wilderness Lodge and the Fort.
I would hate bad weather but I never get anypixiedust:

For us, it never gets old and there is something always new to see. The fact that we have been there so many times it gets more relaxing time and time again. As a single mom I have been blessed to take my son there many times and I always felt safe and secure.
