I just wanted to mention something I ran into while trying to shop when there was alot missing, and also with rising grocery costs.
Around Christmas I bought a cheap brand of all purpose flour to make my son his favorite birthday cookies. He loves them and they always turn out good.
Well, I made them with the new flour and they were awful. First, the dough wouldn't stay together no matter what I did - it just crumbled. I baked them anyway and alot of them crumbled after baking, then the rest crumbled when I put icing on them. I couldn't figure out what I did wrong? Then I realized the only thing different was the cheaper off brand flour.
So, I bought Dakota Maid all purpose flour and remade them. They came out perfect. I am careful about not buying name brands that I am not familiar with now.
I think the quality of the food at disney, and the complaints of not tasting the same, might be due to cost cutting and buying the cheapest around. (there is nothing wrong with the cheapest but this one time I got burned)
