What is your PETS name?

Our Cat is named Tornado. We got him a year ago yesterday. He showed up on our porch, out in the country, and was cold and malnourished. I let him in and he was SOOOO excited. If you could have seen him for that first 48 hours or so you would completely understand the name. He is still very Tornado-like much of the time, but has settled down a LOT!

The cat I had to have put to sleep a few years ago was named Louise. My DD named her, and the other cat we got at the same time was Thelma. :) They were basically "barn cats" when we got them and Thelma disappeared, but eventually Louise became an indoor cat.

The cat in my picture is named Mystic. I thought about the other regular names for a black cat, Midnight, Blackie, etc. but I wanted something a little bit more unusual so thought Mystic fit the bill.

Our mini dachshund is named Schatzie (sweetheart in German) and our Chihuahua is named Tequila.

My cat--who originally belonged to my former roommate--is named Rowan, which apparently is a name from an Anne Rice novel that he (the roommate, not the cat) liked. He only gets called "Rowan" when he's in trouble, though; the name he usually goes by is Tub (because he's a touch, er, hefty).

My parents' chickens are the ones with the most interesting names, though:
roosters: Buster (that's my baby), Jim, Dennis, and Whitey
hens: Lucy, White Chicken, Myra, Chickie, Alex, Dee, and Bob. Bob was part of a pair of hens that my brother named Hank and Bob. Why? We're not sure.

Oh, and their cat (female) is named Chopper. When we first found her, we thought she was a boy (she was only 4 weeks old and really tiny; her wild mother had had to be put down after something attacked her) and I wanted to name her after one of my favorite hockey players, Al MacInnis, who is nicknamed Chopper. For a boy cat, it seemed OK. She also goes by Chomp, which is what one of my mom's tutoring students thought her name was.

They also adopted her brother, who we thought was a girl, and my dad named him Lizzie. (No idea why.) When we finally realized that he was a boy, we didn't want to confuse him, so we shortened it to Izzy, which we justified by saying he was named after Jason Isringhausen (Cardinals closer). We told my great aunt Isabella that Izzy was actually named after her, though; she was tickled to no end by that one.

My hound-mix is named Paisley. We named her that because of the unusual mixture of patterns in her coat. She has some large black areas, some brown "freckles" some black and brown spots, a lot of white. Half her face is white, the other black. I thought she just had a wild paisley pattern look to her.

My recently-deceased Jack Russell was named Lola--which really suited her.

We have two bunnies - Tina and Turbo

Turbo is currently in a timeout for digging!

Oh, and we also used to have a hen named 22; one of my mom's students was a HUGE fan of Mike Matheny (well, he was actually a friend of the family and did a ton of fundraising for them--both kids in the family had a very rare, extremely serious blood disorder that's threatened their lives since birth--and once Mike heard about their story and met the family, he just fell in love with the kids and did anything and everything he could to try to help them. We were all crushed when he signed with San Francisco a few years ago.), and since 22 was his number, that's the name she chose for the hen. My mom later met Mike at an event for Dream Factory and told him that they owned an enormous black hen who was named after him--she said the look on his face was priceless. :rotfl:

We have a 12 year old Shih-Tzu named Beavis! :lmao: It just fits him perfectly!
We also have a 13 Week old Golden Retriever name Barney ( after our beloved Barney Fife!)
Both names fits these dogs perfectly!:goodvibes

Miss Scarlett's Tara...of course, we just call her Tara. Or Stinkerbell.

TARA1.jpg

1 yr old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Annie (after the musical)
6 year old black cat - Seamus (DH loves Irish names)
7 year old Maine Coon mix cat - Vern (after Vern Yip from Trading Spaces)
Guinea Pig - Earl Grey (after the tea, and he's gray colored)
Bunny - Lily (just seemed appropriate for a rabbit)

Taz is our huge Black Lab
Snickers is our Border Collie
Sasha is our Cocker Spaniel.

My spoiled rotten cat's name is Twigg. Actually, Twiggolas Wickerson + our last name. (His nickname is "Twix")

I also had a cat named Blossom (she was 14 when she crossed the rainbow bridge).

Growing up, we had a Siamese named Nosey (it definitely fit her personality)

Lizzie is our black lab
Kali is our mix puppy that we got for Christmas... recognize what she's named after??? The kids came up with that, they insisted she have a Disney related name.

Our soon-to-be 12-year-old cocker spaniel is named Princess Daisy Belle II. We call her Daisy or Daisy B.

Our two-year-old lab is named Rolie Polie Zoe, but prefers Zoe.

Our dearly departed cocker spaniel was registered as Sir Riley Flash of Midnight, and we called him Riley Dog.

We had no creativity for our former cat. He strutted around to the name Mr. Kitty.

Our Yorkie is named Chewie. Not that she chews but she looks like Chewbacca. :chewy:

Grew up with 3 dogs (only 1 at a time):

Rebel (collie)
Goblin (collie)
Mischief/Chief/Nitwit (English Springer Spaniel)

Now have 2 cats:

Gizmo (Calico)
Shadow/Puppycat (Russian blue)

We have a Maine Coon cat named Pepper (whom we call Pepper Ann for some odd reason... :confused3 ).
