What is your PERFECT trip length??

We have done two Disney trips in recent years: a 5 day/4 night trip just DH and last year a 10 day/9 night trip with our two littles.

The first was a quicker trip, but the second seemed like a great amount of time. We were able to have down time without feeling like we were missing out, got a day at each water park, two MK days, and one day at each other major park.

Has anyone gone a day or two longer than 10 days? When do you max out? What is the minimum you would go as a family with two younger children (DD 5 and DS 3 at time of next trip).

TIA :)

We usually go 10 nights which is perfect for us. We do 5 Disney park days and 2 Universal days plus lots of shopping and relaxing as we normally stay offsite. Maybe Seaworld depending on our mood. And mini golf!

Our favourite length is 2 weeks which we can't usually do due to my parents not being able to get much time off. So we've only done that 2 times and a third next March as it'll be my 21st birthday and likely our last family trip.

We have always done 7 days. Would like to do 10-14 one time. But work prevents it. Also now we take kids out of school so a week is all we can do.

But I think 10 days would be great. Plenty of park time and even universal.
But also we love days at the pool. My kids love being at hotels.

Maybe one day in future if have grand kids. Or if I ever quit my job. Lol

We took two 2 week trips this summer. After the first trip, I was ready to go back because I felt that I wasn't done. About 1/2 way through the second trip, I was MORE than ready to go home. I would say that about 3 weeks is the perfect amount of time for us, even if it means we still don't get around to doing everything we want!

Saturday to Sunday seems perfect for us. 7 full days to do the parks with travel days on each end. We try not to fly super early or super late.

We did a Thursday to the next Saturday trip this June, and that seemed perfect for us. 9-10 nights.

We found that our sweet spot with young kids was 10 nights. That's for our trip total - not necessarily our Disney days. (We used to mix Disney and Universal on our trips). We had one trip which included 2 nights at a relatives house after 10 nights at Disney. That was 2 nights too much. We had 7 parks days then - of 7 different parks (US/IOA/SW/HS/MK/EP/AK) and one off day in the middle. They actually did well with that at 11 months, 3 year, and 6 years. We had done a 10 day trip the visit before, which included visiting relatives in there - and that was perfect. We had one 11 night trip planned- but our eldest came down with a stomach virus on the last full day - so we left a day early. 10 nights had been fine for the others so they really didn't feel like they missed out.

Our last trip wasn't Disney, it was US/IOA/LEGOLAND and it was 8 nights and we could have handled more, but it worked fine - they were 4, 7, and 10 then. Our next trip is 13 nights - so we'll see how it goes! We have 8 days in the four main parks, 3 days with waterparks/Disney Quest, and 1 day at LEGOLAND. So, we're going to be busy! We're going at a hotter time of year than usual though so this way we can pace ourselves if needed.

We did Friday to Friday, it was a good length, I wouldn't want to go for *less* than that. However I would have liked a resort day and *gasp* ;) a few days to do other non-Disney things in the area. Sea World, Cocoa Beach, maybe Universal (I really don't have much desire to do Universal until our kids are all older). A 2 week trip would be great, not sure if that will ever be possible with my husband's current job.

We did a Saturday to the following Sunday which was great and we did a Thursday to Tuesday which was not enough. Too much rushing and not enough down time/pool time.

We will probably go next august and do the saturday to Sunday again or even Friday night.

We prefer 7 nights. We usually fly in early on day 1 and out later in day 8. That is plenty of time for us and that includes our down time as well. We went for 10 nights once and it was just a little too long to be away. The last 2 days there was a lot of focus on getting home and back into the normal schedule(s).

4 nights is the minimum, mostly due to the cost to fly. Flying from the Northeast is around $350-500 per person depending on how and when we fly. Spending $2K for just a night or two really jacks up the cost of the vacation.

10 days was too long for us. It was our first trip. We also had 2 days before we arrived in The World at the ILs where DH and I did Universal.

By the end of 10 days in The World, we were all exhausted, and I had a very relaxed, laid back touring style too, always taking mid-day breaks, sometimes not even returning to parks afterward.

The second trip was 7 days, and it was perfect.

It depends on what you want to accomplish. Just Disney - probably 7 days is fine. Disney & Universal - 10 days.

I like to switch it up, some short trips (2-3 days, obviously not all parks) some longer. 10 days was my longest trip and I was pretty ready to go home.

I guess if I had to pick I'd say a week, but I'm happy that I go enough to switch it up.

Our last trip was 11 days and it was amazing!! I finally felt like I could stroll around and really observe the little things. Sitting on a park bench in MK was so nice to do without feeling
Like we were missing out, we litterly felt like we did everything!!

We have found that you need at least 5 days and our family prefers 7-9 days. By the time a week or so has gone by everyone is tired and ready to sleep in their own beds, but you need enough days to conquer some parks and have a day or two of play/rest by poolside to recuperate.

We usually do 7 days but that's just not long enough. This next trip will be 11 days.

As soon as this lottery thing pans out I'm spending a month there.

As long as I have clean underwater, I can stay forever!

We've done 5 nights (painfully short), 7 nights (too short) and 10 nights (just right but I was still sad to leave).

This trip will be 12 nights: 2 of those days are devoted to the marathon and kids races, 3 are rest days. That gives us 7 park days, woohoo!

We're also doing our first split stay, as I felt 12 nights was too long at one resort. I'm hoping the change-up will bring a new vibe that freshens us up.
