What is your next race? Disney or Otherwise?

After running (or swimming, rather) the LA Marathon, I wanted to take time to train. My schedule is pretty lax through the end of the year:

September 4 - Disneyland Half Marathon
October 3 - Twin Cities Medtronic Marathon (Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN)
January 2012 - Goofy Challenge!

I might find some 10K's to run here and there, but I'm much more inclined to just hit the beach and do it myself, haha. My friends are trying to start running this summer, though, so I'll be bumming along with some of my C25K friends.

Whiskey Row Half Marathon (Prescott, AZ) | 2nd time | Because it is close to home and a real challenge.
Disneyland Half Marathon (DLR) | 1st time | For the 2011 Coast to Coast
October 16 - Nike Women's Marathon (SFO) | 1st time | For the Tiffany bling!

Need to find a couple of cool weather half marathons for training in early to mid August. Non-existent in AZ. :D

1) Rock and Roll half - San Diego. First time running this one and first non-disney half. Basically, I got caught up in expo fever walking around the LA marathon 5K. $10 off if I signed up that day.:rolleyes1

2) Disneyland half. I think it is my 4th time. (First time Coast to Coast):woohoo:

3) Nike, if I'm lucky.

4) Tinkerbell

5) Princess

I have a "double stuff" weekend coming up: Derby Mini Marathon (a half marathon) in Louisville on Saturday then back to Cincinnati for the Flying Pig Half Marathon on Sunday. My own mini and local version of the Goofy Challenge.

gotrojansgo Fight on! My DS is a frosh at USC--almost finishing up his first year.

So it's looking like I may do the Cologne Half marathon (October) since my DD will be in Germany for 5 months. Then the Chip & Dale Marathon Relay. And then if the new registration process lets me in, the 2012 Boston Marathon.

Now what do I do between now and October?:confused3

Next Saturday I will do the inaugural Summerlin Half Marathon near Las Vegas.

My DH is attending the NAB conference in Las Vegas, so I always try to find a race to run - usually its a 5k, but this looked like fun.

Wanted to share an update: I shocked myself at the Summerlin by cutting 7 and 1/2 minutes off my half PR :cool1: It was really amazing for me since I almost always run in the flat Midwest or at Disney....this race was near Red Rock Canyon had absolutely killer looooong hills.

Actually also lucked out because the Sat before the race it had been in the 90s and the Sat following the race was also forecast for the 90s - my race morning it was 38 and only got up to 55. Thank you Race Gods!
