What is your LEAST favorite restaurant at WDW

Can DIS'ers please explain why they do not like the food at a TS or CS ?
...

We're pretty easy going. We even like Tony's. But the food quality and the service at The Wave were very disappointing. We were seated right away, but it took over 2 hours for us to leave. Our waiter just disappeared. My husband eats. A lot. He's not picky, and he loves meat. But his steak was tough and the sauce was really gross. He didn't finish his dinner, and that says a lot for us. The desserts seemed interesting, but the taste was just off, somehow. We just won't go back. There are too many other places to go that we would enjoy more. Oh, and it wasn't very crowded, but it was still extremely loud. Too loud to talk to each other.

Our faves have already been nominated here -- San Angel Inn (love their tortilla soup!) and Marrakesh -- five times, five great meals. We've also had great experiences and pretty decent food at Garden Grill all the times we've gone.

That said, we were NOT fans of Le Cellier - just like Ruth's Chris we found it overpriced and unsatisfying.

We also weren't wow-ed by LTT or 'Ohana (that might be because we expected more Hawaiian flare and had just moved from Hawaii).

WORST for us was CS at America -- we were in a rush with family and just wanted to grab burgers and THEY RAN OUT! So, I ordered a hot dog and had plastic in my bun. Luckily, a CM was VERY helpful and found us much more edible food but every time I walk by the America Pavilion I think back to how they couldn't manage the most 'standard' of American Faire

Shutters -- worst meal I've had. I shudder at the thought of it still.

I would just want to say not to discount a restaurant that has both good and bad reviews. I've had unsatisfying and highly pleasing meals at Coral Reef, 50's Prime Time, Crystal Palace And Whispering Canyon.

I havent been to a bunch of them, but from the ones i've eaten at, it would be Chef's De France. Stale bread, fatty short ribs with flavorless sauce, less then endearing service, and no acknowledgement of my sons birthday. I realize the birthday thing is meager, but if your not going to acknowledge it, dont ask about it beforehand. They also told us that Remy would be right out and here it was a Sunday and he never showed up. I guess he doesnt come out on Sundays. :confused3

Just disappointing all the way around.

Hollywood Brown Derby. It was the service that turned us off so not necessarily going to be bad if we go again.

Hands down, Brown Derby. We were on the deluxe dining plan in Oct...we ate at LeCellier (for lunch), Yachtsman, Flying Fish, Coral Reef, 50's, Artist Point, Crystal Palace, Akershus, Goofys Breakfast at Cape May....by far, Brown Derby was the biggest disappointment. Service was awful, my steak was badly undercooked, and it took the server 10 mins to come and ask how our food was, so by the time I got to tell her about my raw beef, everyone else was well into their meal. Just bad all around...and for the price, I expected much more.

I also won't go back to Mama Melrose's...gave it two shots.

Tony's is ok, but barely.

And Chefs de France was pretty awful as well....poorly prepared food and very lax service. Who ever heard of iced tea, with no ice cubes!!!!

That's correct, he doesn't appear on Sundays. The restaurant personnel should not have been saying that he would be out.

The Wave. Just went there 12/3/11. Service was painfully S L O W. We are not big eaters by any stretch, but the portions were tiny. I think we paid $16.99 for 2 scallops as an appetizer. 2 out of 4 entrees were sent back as they were very undercooked. On the positive side, the ice cream flight for desert was pretty good. But not good enough to bring us back. Good luck.

I don't this is not a popular answer but for both DH and I it was Boma. Didn't understand the hype and didn't like the food.

Artist Point, our first meal of the trip.

Terrible service, over seasoned salty food. No thank you.

Yikes now i don't know what to do

half the places i've reserved are on here, some more than once

Coral Reef
LTT
Brown Derby
Biergarten

Advice on replacement? HS is tough, should we just leave before suppertime and go to DTD?

My least favourite from last year was Cape May Clambake

I'm sorry to say, Tony's. Honestly I haven't had a bad meal anywhere else at WDW but Tony's was disappointing not once, but twice. Although the service is great and I really like the atmosphere, the food is just awful. really, REALLY awful.

jamescanuck, just my .02 cents worth, but we do Coral Reef every trip to the world and love it. LTT is my DWs favorite restaurant and we do that every trip also. Have only been to Biergarten 1x, but we enjoyed it. HBD was an imagineer lunch for us, and the food seemed a little over the top - not saying it was bad or good, just very hoidy toidy. You will find negatives for every restaurant in WDW, as every diner has their like and dislikes. I would say stick to what you are interested in, and decide for yourself. Good luck.

I agree, It's hard to believe how A Hotdog can be tasteless time after time. :confused3

I actually listed 2 of those restaurants myself. The fact that I didn't like them doesn't mean you won't. It's best to find out for yourself. LTT & Biergarten just aren't for me. We think LTT dinner is close to Cracker Barrel, maybe a tad bit worse. Basically, it's country cooking, but not like mom makes. ;) I grew up in the south, so it's hard to find country cooking in a restaurant I think is really good. Biergarten is too meat & fat heavy for me. If you prefer meats over salads/sides, it will be perfect for you. IMO, HBD is one of the best restaurants on property. The quality far exceeds the other park restaurants, with the possible exception of Le Bistro. A negative review based on bad service would never prevent me from going to a restaurant. Bad service can happen anywhere at any time. The odds of me getting the same server in the same mood are very slim. Also, one person's idea of bad service may not be yours. For example, some people like a paced meal others like to get in & out. Two different families could have the same server on the same day & view the experience very differently. You chose those restaurants for a reason. If I were you, I wouldn't let this thread or any others change my mind.

See that's what I think is so great about having so many different restaurants and dishes to choose from. What one person dislikes another one loves. I'm a vegetarian who LOVES Biergarten. :lmao: While it definitely is "meat heavy" I find the salads and other sides to be more than satisfying and quite tasty. I have even been lucky enough to have a kind chef decide to make me a few extra dishes. One was a stewed tomato dish and if I didn't know better I could have sworn my mother made it. :goodvibes

I also happen to like LTT, too. I happen to prefer LTT for lunch since they have an extremely tasty salad, but I'm more than happy to eat the sides if we have dinner at LTT. And now that Stouffer's is no longer the sponsor I'm even more excited about trying out dinner. Not that I didn't like dinner, but I'm excited to try the new dessert with Crasins. :)

So in my opinion you need to try a restaurant out for yourself.

ABC Commissary.

The absolute worst meal I have ever had on Disney property. It was literally inedible. Should have asked for my money back.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but they did have a couple salads I liked. Basically, I ended up eating a couple different salads & a roll. I just didn't think there was enough for me to come anywhere close to getting my money's worth even by Disney standards. I'm not a vegetarian, I'm just not a big fan of meat. That's why I said everyone should try it for themselves, & not let others opinions change their mind.
