I'm thinking of staying at a few resorts on my trip. I was thinking of doing 7 days in a value resort, 2 days in a moderate resort, and 1 day in a deluxe resort (though depending on budget I may have to forgo this one and add an extra moderate day resort). I decided to do a couple polls since I've never been to WDW and see what are people's favourite resorts. Unfortunately I can't do three polls in the same thread so I've had to create seperate threads for them. For this thread could you please vote on your favourite value resort and if you would like post why you like the resort you voted for. Much appreciated!

OH! I should mention, I'm travelling alone, no children with me.

All of the All Stars are very similiar, and having stayed at all 3 I would say that you can't go wrong with any of these. Some people hate the All Stars b/c they are value resorts, like Pop, and lack the ammenities like sit-down restaurants, watercraft rentals, work out areas, etc. that deluxes have. Also families with children tend to dislike them more often b/c they want more room and the square footage is a bit smaller in comparison to the moderates. Are they small though? Not at all, I didn't notice any size difference even though it's there so it can't be too much. The best thing about the All Stars is the price though, you can get with a good pin rate or a good AP code (and if you are going for 9 days you might want to get an AP b/c of the savings on hotels that you can get) it can get as low as $54/night!!!! Also, their food courts are insane in a good way!!! Their food selection is wonderful. I tend to notice that b/c I'm allergic to half the foods out there (no joke, lets start with finding citric acid in stuff and go from there lol), and these food courts are ones I am sure that DH and I will be driving to on our honeymoon so I can find a quick bite to eat there. (Well have a rental car so it'll be no trouble to do so! ) Also, the resorts I find are the quietest in the back section, and the walk to the food court is very short. Again this is a place where people often claim the walk to be too far. I have no idea how they figure that once again, b/c we stayed in the very back building of the All Star Music with my grandmother (the same one I mentioned in the moderate thread with 2 hip replacments) and she didn't think anything of the walk either. It's quite ocmical actually, my whole family was following her worrying she would break, and there she was practically sprinting to get food, ignoring our rental car out in the parking lot! LOL Anyways, the All Stars are great resorts, my favorite is the All Star Movies though b/c I'm partial to Giant Dalmations. :rotfl: The Pop Century holds 0 appeal for me b/c who on Earth would WANT to look at Giant Play Doh cans? It just doesn't make sense to me...

Hope this helped a bit!

Stayed in Music, it was O.K. The room was clean; the service people try to make it a Disney experience (thematic arraignment of your purchases, my Poohs were using the curtains as their own playground!). It wasn’t too loud, but it was like a motel.

The worst part about it was some of the other guests. It was like they didn’t know how to act, which to be fair, they probably didn’t. But really, you can’t bring your beer INTO the Calypso pool; it’s Disney, not Vegas. :sad2:

My vote is the POP. They are all likely the same, but the POP has it’s own bus!

I guess they cannot be so bad if we are staying there again this summer!!

We are a family of 4 me, DH, DD13,DD9 and we have no problems with the size of the rooms. However, using one bathroom for all of us in the morning in order to get ready gets a little tough, but I don't mind....I'm in WDW!

We have been very lucky in our room location so far and have always been close to the pool and food courts, we'll see this summer if I'm still as lucky.

As for the food courts, never had any problems with the food, mostly there for b-fast or for a family pizza, the rest of the times we ate in the parks.

I have been to a moderate for my cruise and I felt it was a bit TOO quiet for me, The resort was really spread out, had to take a bus to get to the food court!. I need my resort to be alive and not so spread out. But if you're looking for a quieter resort, I would opt for a moderate.

I noticed you are Canadian ( Yeah! Canadian Idol! ) so maybe you should give the values a try, the exchange rate isn't so bad but it still adds up quickly. Spend the $$$ on other fun things, there are plenty of those in WDW!

We always stay at the Sports nowadays. Last time was for 16 days so it cannot be too bad. We stay there because we are the first on the bus and first off, usually.

If they had a couch or a comfortable chair it would be pretty darned near perfect. (hmmmmm, maybe we could bring our own next time if there is room after we pack our rolling backpack cooler/BBQ)

I voted on all three of your polls. I voted for you in mind due to you'll be travelling alone.

A note of the value resorts......I've read and heard there's lots and lots of families that go to them with children running up and down in the hallways, above you, very thin walls -- you'll hear everything!! Kids in the pools at midnight.

If I were you I would consider staying at a moderate for longer time.

This poll I voted for All star music with you in mind.

i love the POP but we never stayed at any of the other value resorts

I voted for Pop Century mainly because I like the kitschy, campy theme of the place, the layout of the resort, and the best feature:

One bus stop.

The three All Star resorts will share a route at certain times of the day, making a stop first at Sports, then Music, then Movies, before heading out of the resort area.

Pop Century has only one main bus stop (for now --no word on the construction for the other side of Pop Century.)

I usually stay there as a solo traveler. I've only stayed at the 70s section, every time, per my request. I've stayed at both buildings, facing everywhere from a parking lot to the Hourglass Lake. All room locations were convenient for the public areas and bus stop.
