I was wondering what everyone's favorite airplane type is. Are you an Airbus or Boeing fan? Do you prefer the DC9/MD80, the 727/737, the 757/767, or the 747/777?

:D :D :D

Any plane I can fly on in Business or First Class ;).

OK ... my favorite "coach" plane is the Triple-7. They are awesome.

The SST aka Concorde.
But, in real life I like to fly the 727's and 737's also the MD80' s and the L1011's.

I like the MD-80's on teh 2 seated side and I also like the 757-400 series and the 767-300 series. I hate the 737's all series... too noisy. and there is nothing like a 747 luxury liner either....but I am really growing to love those new airbuses on uair.....

Ooooo those triple 7's are the best so far!!! Then come the L1011's. I like the foot thingy on the 777, my legs are short and they help A LOT! ;)

I would live to do the 777 but I like the 767 so far the best out of all I have been on, I usually fly the MD 80 with AA from Boston but they ahve been doing the 767 and 757 lately.,.....I do not mind at all!!! expecaly since in first class!

Delta Business Elite (aka transoceanic first class) on a 777 with a free upgrade for our family of 4! Now that was special. My 8 year old got a kick out of the video game unit. I liked the "push one button" to turn the seat into a sleeper.

Thanks Delta!;)

I have a soft spot in my heart for the DC9. My favorite first class ride is on a 727. The 757 comes in a close 2nd. I agree with some of the other posts here about the 777. It's an awesome plane to hop the pond in. I love the little screens with games, channels and movies. I know Delta bought a few and from what I understand, they're just being used domestically. Maybe they've started taking them overseas by now.

I've been on a few different Airbuses and they haven't impressed me much. They get me there, but I just get attached to the Boeings...:)

It will be interesting when that new Airbus comes out though. The one that's a double decker along its entire length. The commercials for it were a hoot! It can have a bar, child care, health club, casino, restaurant, etc. I'm wondering what the airlines will do with all that space. Probably just cram as many seats as possible. That would probably be more profitable than any revenue that the other amenities could generate.

One of our trips to Disney, we flew in a DC-10. That was a big hit with my DH and boys!!! It was so-o-o big!!!!

The Airbus A340 is a really sweet plane. I like them much more then Boeing's.

I haven't had a chance to ride on one of the 777s yet.

For coach, any of the 767s. With the 2-3-2 configuration, it's hard to get a bad seat. In a typical row, you get 2 window, 4 aisle, and only one middle.

For first, the 757. I don't know about other airlines, but Delta has 6 rows in first class on the 757s.

As for commuter planes, I like the Canadair Regional Jets. MUCH quieter than the turboprops.

I've always thought the 727 was a neat design with the three engines.

:p :p i like the 6 seater ceasnas and the old stinsons are my favorite:p :p

My favorite aircraft is the venerable L-1011. Regretfully her days are limited. Delta will be retiring their last one this summer. ATA still flies them but they are set up for charter operations and have 10 abreast in a coach class which sounds like torture. The days when aircraft were luxuriously appointed and travelling was a luxurious experience are long gone. Does anyone remember when the airlines would set up lounges on their widebody aircraft for both first class AND coach passengers?? Those were the days. The 747 is also a very nice plane to fly in. The 777 is also a wonderful aircraft and very comfortable.

Favorite plane I haven't flown yet: Van's RV-9A. Augusta Municipal to Kissimmee Muni in 7 hours.

Otherwise I prefer larger Boeing aircraft (727, 757, 767). I avoid 737s and McDonnell-Douglas aircraft and I refuse to fly Airbus.

Last time I rode an L-1011 into Orlando we were in the pattern on downwind and I felt the pilot slip the plane - this is a maneuver used to decrease altitude in a hurry while not increasing airspeed and isn't something done often in a commercial airliner. Talk about an E-ticket ride!

Being in the Royal Air Force (UK) I always chose a servicable one, I have had a long stay at MC Dill AFB, Gander Canada and Cyprus.

Civilians don't know they are born until they have endured a Atlantic crossing in a HERC C130.

There will always be a fond place in my heart for my first Jumbo, the 747. I don't fly as much as I used to. But when I've had to fly longer disances the last few years, I've had good experiences with the 757 and the A320.
