What is your favorite movie scene?

Gone in 60 seconds when Nicolas Cage's character and Angelina Joli's character are talking about which they like more-stealing cars, or....I like how Nicolas answers that question.:p

I love that scene too! Nic looks so good in that black leather jacket.

My favorite is the end of an Officer and a Gentleman, when he sweeps Debra Winger off her feet (literally!!!).

Gone in Sixty Seconds: when Nicole Cage dove "Eleanor" in that last chase(DBF and I loved that)

You Got Served: the dance off

Matrix: Reloaded: Neo vs the 100 Agent Smiths

LOTR:FOTR: The Black Riders looking for Frodo and the cave troll in Moria

Spy Kids: Alan Cumming singing Floop's song

Two scenes in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, but not the "I am your father scene."

First, the carbon freezing chamber, where Han is about to be frozen in carbonite for Boba Fett to transport to Jabba. Chewbacca starts to fight and throws stormtroopers aside, but Han stops him and tells him now is not the time, that Chewy has to take care of Leia, who tells Han she loves him and he says "I know." He started out as a smuggler only out for himself, and is ready to sacrifice himself to save his friends.

Second, on Dagobah when Luke's X-Wing sinks into the marsh. Yoda is telling him about the force and size doesn't matter. Luke says "you expect the impossible." Yoda then procedes to rise the X-Wing up and to dry land. Luke says "I don't believe it!" and Yoda tells him "that is why you failed."

Spider-Man -- Uncle Ben's death scene and Peter's chase after his murderer, the same man who robbed the wrestling match that he could have stopped but didn't.

Christmas Vacation -- Clark's rant.

Speed -- the bus jumping the unfinished highway.

Too many to name!

Godfather 2 - I love learning how Vito came to be the Don. I realize that's not just one scene, oh well!

Snoopy - totally agree, the part in Field of Dreams where he gets to play catch with his Dad, gets me everytime! Not to mention his dad is hot!!

Legends of the Fall - I love when Tristan meets Susanah for the first time. Also the scene on the way home when Isabella 2 is shot, my heart just breaks! Or when you see Col. Ludlow for the first time after his stroke.

Braveheart - When Princess Isabelle touches her stomach and you realize that she is pregnant with William Wallaces baby.

Good Will Hunting - When Will finally leaves - to go see about a girl.

Pretty Woman - love when she gets to go shopping :)

Tombstone - love when they arrive into town.

Dumbo - I love when Dumbo's mom rocks him from inside the jail.

The Wedding Planner - love when Mary gets a little tipsy and Steve takes care of her.

ok - that's enough, I'm sure I could think of a million more.

Ok, get ready for this...

The cheesy movie "Porkies" the orriginal one. I love when the two guys hire Cherry Forever to perform behind a closed door and that huge african american comes charging out with a "bloody" machetti! And all the other guys go running off buck naked and PeeWee gets picked up, still running throught the dark everglades by the cops.

Laugh till I cry.

"I gave her my heart....She gave me a pen"

Say anything is my all time favorite movie and there are so many great scenes in it --

The whole bought, sold, or processed speech is a favorite of mine, but I love the end when Diane is afraid of flying and Lloyd tells her that everything will be Ok once the seatbelt light goes out and they are holding hands looking straight ahead tlking about the light going out and then..."ding" the movie ends and you know that everything will be OK.

"The Prime of Miss Jean Brody" Miss Brody (Maggie Smith) confronts Head Mistress Miss McCay (Celia Johnson) in her office.
"I AM A TEACHER!"

"The Other" The first time , in the movie, Ada (Uta Hagen) plays "the game" with Niles.

"Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Kahn" when Spock realizes what he has to do to save the ship.

"The Day of the Locust" When Homer Simpson (Donald Sutherland) loses it at the movie premier and the crowd goes wild. Very Disturbing and powerful scene.

"Clearly you've never been to Singapore"--Captain Jack Sparrow to British soldier after soldier's comment that he never would have thought of cutting off Miss Swan's corset to enable her to breathe.

Legolas to Gimil in TTT

Shall I describe it to you... or would you like me to go find you a box?

The scene in High Fidelity where he organizes his albums autobiographically

Grosse Pointe Blank: the convenience store scene. "You can never go home again, but apparently you can shop there"

Oh...best scene ever...in Don't Say a Word, when Michael Douglas realizes the chain on his front door's been cut and his daughter's gone...the way he falls against the wall is so realistic to me.

Oooh, just remembered one of my all time favorite chick flick scenes.

The scene in Sense and Sensibility when Emma Thompson discovers that Hugh Grant is not married after all and that she will not live out her life as a spinster with unrequited love. The display of emotions she is able to evoke in a intense few seconds is simply acting at its best. She amazes me, in every role she has ever played.

And on a sad note:

The scene from Sophie's Choice where Sophie has to choose. :(

Austin Powers in Goldmember: when the Britney Fembot blew up

wow, great thread! My favorites:

Steel Magnolias
I love this whole movie but the 2 scenes that stick out the most are when Shelby is getting her hair done for her wedding and explaining what her wedding colors are "blush and bashful" and her and her mother argue over the colors both being a shade of pink and Shelby says "pink is my signatah culuh"

-second fave scene from that movie is at the end when everyone is at the funeral and Mylin (sp?) says "I can run from Texas and back but my daughter can't" that whole scene makes me bawl like a baby, it's so realistic to me.

Oooh, a couple of sad ones I just remembered:

The scene in Terms of Endearment where Debra Winger is saying goodbye to her children. :( :(

And the scene from Titantic where the mother is putting her children to bed and they are all saying their prayers as usual, the only difference being that she knows there will be no tomorrow for them. OMG, I am crying thinking of that now.

On an up note!

The dancing rhinos in Fantasia

:)

Two of my favourites come from "Con Air"

Firstly when Steve Buchemi says 'Define irony...............etc"

Then the other one is when Nicholas Cage tells the guy to ....."Put the bunny back in the box" and after he the guy dies he says "why didn't he put the bunny back in the box?"

I love that film!!!! :hyper: :teeth:

I have to agree with parrothead and lulugirl - "We need a bigger boat" - totally BRILLIANT quote!!!!!!!! ::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Another poster just reminded me of one of my favs,

In High Fidelity John Cusack explains his top 5 things he loves about Laura. For those of you who have seen it, guys do have little things we love about you women, but we can't tell you just keep doing what your doing. :)

Near the end of Overboard when the butler (Roddy McDowell) is talking to Goldie Hawn telling her that she has the rare privilege of changing her life.

The scene in Network when Peter Finch gives his "I'm as Mad as Hell" speech.

The Welcome to Earth scene in Independence Day. LOL!

When Hannibel meets up with the Senator who's looking for her daughter and he says, "I love your suit". Silence of the Lambs

Most of Blazing Saddles but especially the I'm Tired scene.

Roberta

When Gary Cooper lifts Audrey Hepburn onto the train at the end of Love In The Afternoon.

There are so many::yes:: Just off the top of my head:

This Is Spinal Tap: "this one goes to eleven"

This Is Spinal Tap: when they sing Heartbreak Hotel at Elvis' grave

A Hard Day's Night: when the Beatles are singing

Help: when the Beatles are singing

Yellow Submarine: After the Nowhere Man sequence John says to Jeremy Hillary Boob- "come on, we'll take you somewhere"
