What is your favorite movie scene?

In About A Boy when Hugh Grant's character gets on the stage with a guitar and helps the boy sing Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly" at the school talent show. Hugh looks so cute and vunerable!

Austin Powers where he is dancing for the fembots to "I touch myself"

Just about anything from the Holy Grail

An Officer and A Gentleman where he carries her out of the factory

The Way we Were when she brushes back Robert Redford hair at the end (I cry every time)

That is but a few I can think of off the top of my head........

First two that come to mind:

Steel Magnolias-Right after Shelby dies, when Sally Field rushes out of the hospital to get to her grandson.

The Patriot-When Mel's youngest daughter that won't speak to him finally does and she says, "What do you want me to say, I'll say anything!" Absolutely breaks my heart.

two of mine are from Armageddon (SP) where Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck are saying goodbye and he sings to her and the other guys join in. And of course the animal cracker scene. Also love the one from Knotting Hill where Julia Roberts is standing in front of Hugh Grant and saying Iam just a girl standing in front of a boy speech. STeel Magnolias where Ouiser asked MLynn if she has a reindeer stuck up her butt.

Any line from THE COLOR PURPLE!!! Can't get enough of that movie! :bounce:

Hmm...

This is something I would have to think about, but one that comes to mind is the dramaaatic court room scene in "A Few Good Men"

C'mon, we all know it:

Tom Cruise: "I want the thruth!"

Jack: "You can't handle the truth!"

I also love many of the scenes from "Ever After" and ooooohhhh, "The Kiss" scene in Pirates of the Caribbean. The look in Orlando Bloom's eyes makes me squeel (spelling?).

The whole "Come What May" scene at the end of Moulin Rouge :)

Just thought of another one. In "Pieces of April" at the begininng when April's family is looking for their mother and the husband opens the garage door and Patricia Clarkston (the mother) is sitting in the passenger seat of the car already. Strong scene.

Ok, thought of two...

Scene near the end of Bram Stoker's Dracula where Dracula is getting ready to bite Wynonna Ryder (can't remember character's name) and the music is swelling and he says..."I love you too much to condemn you to death" in that heavy accent.... so romantic!

End of Sense and Sensibility where Emma Thompson realizes Hugh Grant has come back and he is in love with her.... I bawl like a baby!! Love that movie!

Mine is from CLUE:

When the butler recaps the events of the evening:

Wadsworth: Very well, I know whodunit.
Col. Mustard, Miss Scarlet, et. al: You do?!
Wadsworth: And furthermore, I'm going to tell you how it was all done...

...and he proceeds to tell how it was all done at lightning speed.

Stalag 17...when Animal and Harry are dancing, Animal mistakes Harry for Betty Grable. That cracks me up soo much lol

Breakfast at Tiffany's...the kiss in the rain, doesn't get much cuter than that.

My Man Godfrey...when Godfrey puts Irene in the shower and she runs around yelling "Godfrey loves me!"

Some Like it Hot...when "Daphne" is dancing around the room with the maracas, telling "Josephine" all about her engagement

You know what's funny? I played this movie 3 times in my store today :)

One of my favorite movie moments is from Dirty Dancing...

"Nobody puts Baby in the corner!", and then the dance at the end. Lucky gal!

And anything in PoTC! pirate:

One of my favorite is from The American President. Through the entire film, the opposing candidate ends his speeches with "I am Bob Rumson and I want to be your president"
At the very end, when the sitting president decides to fight back, he makes a speech and ends it with
"My name is Andrew Shepherd and I am the President"

I just love that line!

and

I was married. My husband cheated on me left and right.
He made me feel like I was crazy all the time. One day
he tells me it's MY fault he saw other women. So I picked
up a knife and told him it was HIS fault I was stabbing him.
- *Living Out Loud*

Lastly--

A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver, with some fava beans and a nice chianti...."
* Silence of the Lambs

I have the videos but if it is on TV .....I have to watch it.......when the three men were in the galley and they were showing each other their battle scars........

McClintock - where John Wayne tells the guy "Someone should belt you in the mouth, but I wont' - I won't - the hell I won't" and let's him have it. And that starts the fight where eveyone slides down into the mud pit.
I know - I'm showing my age here.:)

I love that McClintock scene too. I forgot about that, but it is great!

Some of my favorites that come to mind:

The last scene in Splendor in the Grass when Natalie Woods goes to see Warren Beatty after a couple of years and he is married and has children. Always makes me SO sad!!

When Elle Woods graduates in Legally Blonde- Love that movie (and especially Bruiser).

The graveyard scene in Steel Magnolias when Olympia (isn't that her name) tells her to hit Shirley McClaine- you're crying hysterically and the next second, you're laughing. That is a fantastic scene.

Any Joan Crawford and Clark Gable scene from any of their movies.

And from the X-Files movie, when Mulder tries to convince Scully not to leave town and they are about to kiss.

Okay, one more.....when the aliens come out of their ship at the end of Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Gone With The Wind- the scene in the library when Scarlett throws a nick'nack at the wall and Rhett sits up on the couch revealing that he heard her whole conversation with Ashley. I love the whole movie but that scene is my favorite.

The Jerk:

"The phone books are here - The phone books are here"

"He hates those cans"

Forest Gump

"Sometimes there aren't enough rocks"
