We had a malanois--she was such a great dog. We got her as a puppy when dd was 2 and it was hilarious to watch this tiny little girl boss the big dog around.

Out of the OP's choices, my favorite is the German shepherd.

I've had so many great dogs in my life and but we're not loyal to one particular breed. Right now my favorite is the golden retriever. This is the most mellow, eager to please dog I've ever had.
