What is your favorite Disney memory?

Alladin asking DD3.5 to ride his magic carpet ride with him

My dad says his favorite is when we all first saw the castle.

I was at the premier of fantasmic, and it was incredible. I was so excited to this day it is still my favorite disney show.

Wow, just wanted to say thanks to everyone for posting their favorite memories, it is good to see so many different things that you all remember and hold as special.

I have 2 favorites:
FIRST-My dear Mom's first trip to WDW, our second--she needed to use an ECV to get around and she was a riot on it. Joking with the bus drivers, offering to put other kids on her lap in line, etc...

We were heading to Muppetvision in MGM & there was a not many people around right near TGM, she took off (really fast) the wrong way. My DH runs after her & says "Ma, you're going the way!". She abruptly stops and says, "This is Disney World, who cares if I'm going the wrong way, I'll have fun wherever I am!!" and tore off to get in line for Playhouse Disney. Very funny to all of us & we still laugh about it. My mom passed away last month & still talked about how much she loved that vacation up until the day she went into a coma.

SECOND: Same trip, Sept 2001, my DS (then 4) was sitting on the curb during Spectro and he saw Snow White. He's never been "into" the characters, but loves to watch Snow White. He jumped up when she was headed our way and she stopped right in front him, bent down and held out her hand, he knelt down on 1 knee & kissed the top of her hand, then she kissed his! Just adorable :)

THIRD: Maybe not my favorite memory, but memorable to say the least. DS & I were waiting outside RnRC since he was too short to ride and DH was enjoying it. We were near a large group of vistors from England or at least somewhere with British accents. :) My DS (then 3) was playing around, jumping here and there and ended up right behind a pretty teenage girl, decided to pinch her bottom and run away! Everyone around us was laughing so hard, but the English group was appalled and said "What a dreadul little chap!" and "Did you see that, that's what Americans teach their kids!".

The funny thing is, my DH doesn't ever do that to me, so DS must have seen it somewhere else, probably in a line somewhere, because it would have been right in his sightline! :) He's never done it since....

I have two wonderful memories- First one was in 1991 I think, my mom, sister and me getting stuck in the balcony scene of HM. We were stuck there for about 15 mins. I loved it! Second was last Dec. DBF and me were in line to take a picture with Lilo and Stitch. After we were done taking pictures, Stitch decided that he wanted to dance with me and he gave me a big kiss! He wouldn't let me go! :stitch: Those are the memories that I will treasure forever!

These are bringing tears to my eyes!

Our first trip my oldest DS was 8. He's very conservative, has never liked to draw attention to himself or to act/dress silly. Before I knew we were going to WDW I had said, "If we ever go to DW I'm getting mouse ears and wearing them the whole time." He was horrified, of course. Well, we did go and we all bought Mouse Ears. I wore mine the whole trip, and so did he, the rest of the family tired of them on day 2. On day 3 I asked him why he was still wearing them and commented that I didn't think he would like them. He said, "Mom, things are DIFFERENT in Disney Word." So sweet! We both wore them all 5 days.

walking into the MK, up Main Street and my DDs seeing the castle for the first time. My wife and I both had tears in our eyes! Other great memories: having the massive front doors to the AKL open and see the lobby at Christmas.
MNSSHP and walking on to most of the rides over and over!
Watching Illuminations from our balcony at the Dolphin most every night.
The HDDR
and the list could just go on!

This isn't the best memory or anything, just a very funny one which will always stick in my mind! :lmao:

My parents, myself and my 2 sisters were staying at the Holiday Inn. This was about 10 years ago.
We were all just chilling out in our room on our beds when all of a sudden, a little frog jumped onto my arm! I got such a shock, I screamed and ran for my life into the tiny bathroom! My sisters saw the frog and screamed too, then they both ran into the tiny bathroom with me!
We were so scared, we slammed the bathroom door shut so the frog couldn't get in (our childlike minds!), just at that moment, my mother was running for the bathroom door too, but we slammed it just as she got there.
She was just banging on the door screaming "let me in!!". We were all in hysterics, leaving my poor Dad to go get rid of the frog! :rotfl2:

Just thought of another funny moment which we captured on cam!
We were in MGM, watching a parade when we noticed a man dressed up, stood on the roof of one of the buildings. He had a very very long piece of string, and at the end of it was a very fluffy toy spider!
He dangled it all the way down from the roof, to the crowd of people below watching the parade. He then placed the spider on top of a bald man's head! It was so funny to watch what this man was up to! I still have no idea who he was. :lmao:

there are too many to count. :confused3 I would have to say though that taking my son for the first time last November. I've waited my whole life to become a Mother (we were told we would never have kids) so showing him special things is really important to us. DH and I are both big Disney fans so WDW it was. Now Preston is a HUGE :stitch: fan so when I found out Lilo and Stitch were at O'Hana for breakfast, it was a MUST for us. After we ate breakfast (it was a late seating), we were making our way around to the other side of the resteraunt to talk to Stitch one more time. We waited while he played with other kids. Preston had on his Stitch hat, his Stitch shirt. Stitch got down on all fours and started growling and clawing at Preston. He says to this day that he got to "play" with Stitch at O'hana. It was perfect and our most memorable thing during our trip.

I remember the first time we took our girls to WDW....they were 8 and 10, we were there for 8 days....the last day we spent in Magic Kingdom and we were leaving to catch the bus back to CBR and my oldest started to cry. She didn't want to go home the next day! I tried to console her saying we had to go back home, she had to go back to school and she looked at me and said "They have schools in Florida!!!" :confused3 What could I say???

Going to WDW with my highschool marching band and marching in the MK
Having Hubby as me out on our very first date after riding TOT
Holding hands and watching EPCOT's fireworks with Hubby who was my boyfriend back then (Nine years ago this year!!)

:lovestruc

Going in the early 70s with my grandparents and the times we were in WDW with my mom. My mom and grandparents have all past but our times in WDW were special. It is the touchstones like these that make life's voyage worth it.

OMG how sweet! Just like a little prince :lovestruc

I know this sounds crazy but we have done everything at all the parks and my favorite memory was staying after MK closed one night and eating our candy on Main Street. There were very few people around and it was just a magical moment. Second favorite was riding in the front of the monorail with my then 4 year old.

my MOst favorite memory has to be when my Fiance proposed. He did it while watching Wishes. It was perfect for us b/c we are such Disney freaks. It was magical.

There are too many to single out!

Almost every moment I have spent in WDW is so wonderful!

I can't wait to go back. It is killing me! :rotfl:

DD8 at the time she is 11 now were walking down Hollywood Blvd at MGM hand in hand just loving the fact that we were in Disney when all of our family was back home shoveling 12" of snow. As we are walking she stops suddenly, looks at me and say "The best gift I ever got was having a mom who turned out to be my best friend" Well let me tell you I just about lost it right there... I told her that was the nicest thing anyone has "ever" said to me. She then tells me thanks I heard it on a Hallmark commercial. :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I have a few Disney memories. Probably the one that sticks out in our minds is when we took our first family trip in 2004. We all fell in love with Epcot. Yes even my dd's. Anyway after Illuminations was over one night it started to rain. Everyone ran toward the exit. I talked my family into taking the long way out without fighting the crowd. So we walked from Mexico around to Canada in on and off rain, but we had the whole WS to ourselves. Our girls had fun "modeling" in France and window shopping at all the shops along our route. By the time we got around to the exit there were only a few of us left. The cm's were all waving to us as we left and it was just so magical to us. The bus on the way back was almost empty. Now we can't wait until June to create more Disney memories. I get a tear in my eye every time I see pictures from our trip around WS that night.

Last Feb my daughter rode Btmr for the first time and she held her hands up the whole time. She kept telling her DDad that she did. She was afriad of them upto that point and her dad is a rollercoaster nut so she felt she had something to prove. It was so funny and she was so thrilled that she actually dont it. She is almost nine now and wants to ride them all just like her dad. We live in 3 days to make more memories. :cheer2:

Reading these posts makes me want to be in Disney so bad it hurts!!! My favorite trip/memory has to be our Sept. '05 trip. We were supposed to go on a land/sea trip in Feb. '06 but Hurricane Katrina came our way and messed everything up! We had evacuated to San Antonio and were in limbo about where to go and what to do. We knew our house had survived, and the school where I teach was opening back up on Oct. 3. My Feb. vacation would have to be cancelled b/c that was our Mardi Gras break, and the days from the hurricane would have to be made up. So, I convinced my DH to go to WDW and we spent 9 glorious nights there!! My favorite memories were:
1- All of the parks and the fact that we did not stand in one line longer than 10 minutes. The best was when my DS6 went on Splash Mountain 5 times in a row. That was the happiest I have ever seen him.
2- My DD2's face when she saw Cinderella for the 1st time. The look in her eyes made me feel like I was the best parent in the world for bringing her there!
3- When we rode in the front of the monorail (twice!)
4- At the end of the trip, my son asked me if we could go to Disney every time a hurricane comes!
We were so happy to give our kids a little bit of excitement after all of the turmoil and destruction they were exposed to. Reality set right back in when we returned home, though, and began helping our family members and friends who lost everything.
