What is your favorite Disney memory?

I think my favorite memory was form our last trip when my son and I were able to ride in the front of the monorail. I had asked him while we waited if he wanted to and he so "no, people can ride in up front with th edriver!" Low and behold, the monorail arrived adn there were people in the front. Then got really excited and asked the attendant. We needed to wait for the next monorail. Much to his surprise, the next one was the red one, his favorite color. He still talks about it just about every day.

My favorite memory was during our last trip, in '04. I was traveling with dh, ds (6 at the time), dd , and ds. My oldest son is autistic, and became mesmorized with collecting Mickey confetti that we were finding all over MK. He was in heaven looking for them!!!

While waiting for our dinner ressies at the castle, I casually explained to the CM what my ds was doing, since his eyes were glued to the ground looking for something. She left, but came back a few moments later with a handful of Mickey confetti for him. She explained that it was pixie dust. The look on my son's face was just priceless....an entire pile of pixie dust, just for him. We still have his special bag of pixie dust :sunny:

I can't wait to make some more more Disney memories in October!!!

Wow, these are incredibe... isn't it amazing how other peoples memories affect us!!

Here is mine. I had just gone through an incredibly horrible divorce. I had also met the man that I am now very happily (10 years and counting) married too. My youngest son 4 at the time, wasn't really keen on him. you know, still hoping mommy and daddy would be together... anyhow, We took the kids to Disneyworld, (my first time as well) they were enthralled as I was too. My youngest warmed up to his future stepfather more and more as every day had passed. On our last night there we watched the fireworks at MK for the first time, (DH had been there several times before, so he knew) he kept telling DS that it was so magical that even Tinkerbell really flies. Well my DS was no dummy and just would not believe. But, as the lights went down and the music gave way, Tinkerbell did fly right out of the castle!! DS could only jump up and down yelling Tink Tink Tink!! He was so happy that when he turned around to tell him that he was right he had tears (of JOY) in his eyes!! They have been best friends ever since. That night made me realize that magic is real and fairy tales do come true.

I thank god everyday for my Prince Charming!!

Our first trip to WDW, and walking up to the castle with my 3 yr old daughter.
I wont ever forget the look on her face!! Priceless!! :wizard:

When I was serenading by one of the Streetmophere characters at MGM

Another good one, and probably my DD's favorite memory, was when her favorite bell hop at ToT took her to the control room. She was so excited!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: One of my favorite memories was in 2001. My DD was almost 4 at the time and we were waiting for the Pocahontas show to open and a very nice CM asked her if she would like to open the show. She was so excited and kept saying that the girl she opened the show woth was her best friend . It was so cute. She got a very nice cerificate with her name on it and she still has it in her room today. There are just so many favorite memories.... I will be making more in just 3 days..... princess: princess:

my favorite memory is simple. i promised my DD4(now 6) that she would get to meet her favorite disney charactor. while on the Disney Magic she got to meet cindy while dressed up just like her. they talked for many minutes and it is something to this day that she thanks me for. :cloud9:

My favorite memory is from my family's last trip with my mom Dec 26, 1997 - Jan 3, 1998. Mom had Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID - it's another name/form of Multiple Personalities) and had been in treatment for a few years, but this was the first family vacation we'd taken since the diagnosis. There are so many fun memories from that trip because we began to see the healing to the "little girl" inside my mom at WDW.

One of the best memories was an evening at Epcot. We really enjoyed walking around WS together, exploring the shops and tasting food from each of the countries. We grabbed fish and chips in UK and found a spot to watch Illuminations. While we waited we just had a good time talking and joking and reminiscing about prior trips to WDW. Illuminations was so lovely! Afterwards, we took our time walking back, and enjoyed watching all of the lights, the fountain, and all the people making their way to the exit. As we were standing by the fountain, we overheard someone say that some of the FW attractions were still open. We were skeptical, but decided to see if Journey into Imagination was open, and it was! Figment was my mom's favorite, so we quickly got on the ride, and rode it about 3 times in a row, singing along with Figment and DreamFinder.

I cannot tell you how many times I have looked at the pictures from that trip, and especially that night, and been thankful for the joy, love, and magic of our family time at WDW! Mom died suddenly in Aug of 1999, and some of my best memories of time with her were spent at WDW.

Thank you, Disney World!

I planned endlessly for our first family trip to DWD. My son was 7 and my daughter was 5. We arrived at WDW in the late afternoon and I had made dinner reservations at Chef Mickey's. My husband and kids knew nothing about character dinners and I hadn't told them a thing about Chef Mickey's. They had no idea where we were going for dinner. When we arrivd at the Contemporary, I suggested we buy autograph books because the kids would need them at the park the next day. I will never forget the look on their faces when they walked in Chef Mickey's and saw all the characters. I'm not sure whether the kids or my husband enjoyed Chef Mickey's more!

I love reading these too!

I have MANY favorite memories, but I'll spare you
and just post two of them.

I planned a trip for my whole family (ten of us) I am the Disney nut in the group. My brother, SIL and two year old son came on the trip. My brother and SIL like Disney, but didn't really "get it" before the trip. When we went to the Pooh breakfast at Crystal Palace, Pooh came over to our table first, we were a little worried about my nephew and how he'd do with the great big characters, but when Pooh came over to our table, my nephew leaned right over and gave him Pooh a big hug and a kiss on the nose. Memorable enough, but when I looked over at my brother he had tears in his eyes. Suffice to say, my brother "gets" Disney now.

On that same trip, my six year old princess loving niece was dressed as Jasmine for the Princess breakfast in Norway. Once we were seated at our table I noticed my niece was pretty quiet. She was looking around the room and I think she was just in awe. I was just about to ask her why she wasn't eating anything and I heard her whisper to herself
"I feel like I am in a dream." -- This time I was the one with tears in my eyes.

Oh I have tons of them but if I had to have a top three here they are:

1. First time as a kid. I was walking around the whole wee with my mouth hanging open. Little did my dad realize at the time he created a future diser.

2. My honeymoon. It was my first 10 day trip and it was my wife's first time there. It was great watching her walk around with her mouth hanging open.

3. My daughter's second trip but really like her first because she didn't remember the first one because she was too young. Experiencing it with her was the best. The cycle continues I created a future diser.

I also have many fond memories.
The first one was the first time we stayed on sight at the Yacht Club. We had always stayed on International Drive. So it was a treat just to be staying on sight. It was during over Easter break. So at that time my DD was 6 and DS was 3. We heard how they had an Easter hunt on Sunday morning. So my kids dressed in a rush and ran down to the lobby. We were greeted by a CM who directed us outside. There the lawn leading to the pier was covered in candy. Their eyes just lit up. They were handed bags and told to go find candy. This just confirmed to me that there is nothing like the Disney experience. We have not stayed off sight since. That was the year we bought into OKW.
:cheer2: :cheer2:

There are a few of them...so I will do a couple...I went to Disney for the first time in 74 or 75, I can't remember.

Riding 20000 Leagues Under The Sea!

Crying as my big brother got to ride Space Mountain and I could't because I was to small!

I have had some great Disney Trips but my last was my absolute favorite! We took my in-laws in late 2000 at the tail end of the Millenium Celebration. I had so much fun showing them around! They had never been to Epcot, MGM or AK. Also I stayed at the Wilderness Lodge - my hands down favorite hotel! There are so many great memories from that trip.

1. At the Crystal Palace Buffet I was concentrating really hard on eat. I noticed something out of the corner of my eye and turned to look. It turned out the "something" was tiggers nose! He was right next to me just standing there. I jumped about 3 feet in the air and my DH still laughs at me about it.

2. At the Kilimanjaro Safaris our guide's mike broke so we got to have a nice relaxing cruise through the Savannah without the cheesy storyline. (No offense to those who enjoy it)

3. We had the best server at The Primetime Cafe - Uncle Glenn. My FIL really got into the whole theme of the restaurant. He said it reminded him of when he was a kid. "Get your elbows off the table!"

I'm hoping to have a lot of great memories on the trip I'm going to this year - also with my in-laws - and for the first time with my own children.

I never got to go as a child and my first time was only four years ago!

The memory that stands out the most from that day was we took the ferry to Mk instead of the monorail and I could see us slowly reaching the castle and the magical place that stood only moments away. I was so excited because I had wanted to go my entire life and I finally was! I think that is my most special memory.
:)

I have two.

The first from 1976 which was my first trip. I was just out of High School and went with my mom. As we walked down Main Street she started crying. I asked her why and she said her dream was always to take us to Disneyland but since she and my dad split up when I was a baby she didn't think it would ever happen. I have many many happy memories of spending time at WDW with my mom and we even have a brick for her by the Poly (her favorite resort). Sadly the trip we had planned for May of '97 never happened because she was diagnosed with lung cancer that year and we had to cancel.

The second is from 1990 when I honeymooned at the Grand Floridian with my DH Mark. He liked Disney but since his only experience at WDW was as a kid at Spring Break he thought I was nuts wanting to honeymoon there. A week of pampering and empty parks later and he was hooked. Now we share many many trips to our favorite place and it all started that October!

My favorite memory is of my first trip which was only in 2003 with DSis and DBIL. It was his idea and we were all for it. He kept saying he wanted to go "one last time" (since he had been there before) and we kept telling him he would make many more trips. The smiles on his face that week, especially meeting Wendy Darling at MK, and the fun that we had still make great memories and laughs. That did end up being his last trip. He was diagnosed 2 months later with pancreatic cancer and passed within 6 months. SOOO glad we went...and now I'm HOOKED!!!

I love this thread!!!

My favorite memory from my childhood was when I was about 7 or 8. We usually went to WDW once a year since I was really little but this year was the first year (and only year) I convinced my Mom (who hated all things rollercoastery) to go on Big Thunder Mountain. Of course she couldn't go on herself so she dragged my aunt Gertrude on with her. I remember laughing so hard & spending the whole ride turned around in my seat watching her & my aunt screaming with their eyes closed and grabbing each other. It's one of my favorite memories of my Mom.

My favorite memory after marriage & children was when DH and I took our twins (then 11 months) to the MK for the first time. It was a quick 2 day trip before we headed to Tampa for a cruise but it was the best. It was also the only trip we've taken where it has just been DH, I & the boys. We've always had additional family since then. We stayed at POFQ and had to hide in the bathroom area so that the kids couldn't see us before they fell asleep (we got there around 9pm the first night & just put hem in their cribs). It was the last time either cried for two days. They were just enthralled & I just have a memory of complete love for everyone from that trip.

Thats an easy one for me. My favorite memory was about three months after we adopted our eldest two daughters (ages 13 and 15). They were in the process of learning the language (they spoke only Russian when they got home) and so due to the stress of the transition, laughter was precious. We decided to take the kids to Diz for a little break. We arranged to do the family tour of the Magic Kingdom. Well, my DH and I acted just like kids (which is a requirement for this tour) and the girls, along with their younger brother and sister laughed and laughed. Wendy Darling rode along with the girls on the Pater Pan Flight ride and afterward the girls ran to me. They told me "Mom, Wendy really does talk to much!" (Apparently Wendy talked through the entire ride non-stop.) The look on their precious faces was so priceless and it is something I will always remember.

My childrens faces the first time they set foot inside magic kingdom they were so amazed also the first time they saw fantasmic there is nothing at all like the parades and fireworks at all here in the uk so they were all so excited
and spell bound and my little boy then 6 getting very emotinal after his first day at epcot he refused to move and said he was going to live their for ever :cloud9:
