We are traveling next month on the QSDP, but would like to splurge and have one character meal. This would be for 3 adults and 2 boys, ages 6 and 3. What is your favorite?

Crystal Palace Dinner and 1900 Park Fare Dinner.

In would say my favorite w/ 2 boys factored in is either Crystal palace w/Pooh and friends or Chef Mickeys w/ Mickey and friends. It depends if your 6 yr old is still into pooh or not.

Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's for us. Both are very good, just depending on what characters you want to see.

We have 2 DS's 11 & 6 and since my oldest DS was 3 we have been going to :thumbsup2Chef Mickey's. The boys just love it and a lot of adults really seem to enjoy it. Last trip in Aug 07 we did Breakfast & dinner. I think we enjoyed the food more at Breakfast, but the whole character thing is great at either one. You can't go wrong with WDW. Enjoy.:cheer2:

I have a 5 yr old daughter. Watching her little face meet the princesses at Akershus was priceless. The food on the other hand...well...the princesses were GREAT! I plan on going back just for that.

The food at Crystal Palace was probably best and the characters at Tusker House were fun to see in their Safari outfits. The motif at Tusker was unique too.

Honestly, I really don't think you could go wrong with any of the character breakfasts. I've been to pretty much all of them and loved them all. However, I'm assuming two boys wouldn't want to meet the princesses so you can easily rule out Cinderella's Castle and Akershus at Norway.

I think my favorite might actually be Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club. It's not as popular as some of the others so it's a little quieter. But the food is great and I love the characters all dressed in beachwear.

My 2 boys were the same ages as your on our Oct trip. We did lots of character meals (see my trip report link below for pictures). Their favorites were Chef Mickey, Donald Safari Bfast and Cape May. DS3 loved Hollywood and Vine because he's crazy about Little Einsteins. They loved meeting the characters, getting their autographs, and playing with them.

I would find out your kids favorite characters and see which meal has the best mix. That would probably make them the happiest.

Crystal Palace at 8:05 am, awesome food, empty park great for pictures

Mine would probably be Ohana - Lilo and Stitch are great and the food (especially the pineapple bread) and juice is fantastic! :stitch:

Our favorites are Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace. I agree with the PP that going to Crystal Palace first thing is great because you get the empty park pics as a bonus. But Disney just isn't the same without Chef Mickey's for us.

Hi. Can I ask a question - how many days are you going for? If it's 5 or less, then you'd probably make out using the regular dining plan. It's only $10 extra for you and DH, and a couple dollars for the kids per day. A character dinner is going to cost you around $125, a breakfast around $75. You could get a few character meals on the regular DP.

But, if you're going for a week or more, then stick with QSDP!!!

I'd vote for Cape May Cafe breakfast with Goofy, get a later in the morning reservation and you'll get more character time. The kids get crayons to draw on the tables and it's a quick walk to International Gateway and Epcot, or grab the boat to DHS. Lots of fun and the characters are sweet. It's Goofy, Donald and Minnie in beach clothes.

Chef Mickey's for breakfast wins hands down. We have booked both the earliest 7:00 AM and got in and had a nice breakfast and to the parks before opening. Also a later 10:30 AM breakfast which was great as we were not going to the parks and spent a lot of time there. DS ordered an omelet with bacon only and it was so huge it was bigger than the platter.....we all ate part of it. The only thing I wish I could add to Chef Mickey's is the breakfast lasagna they serve at Crystal Palace.
