I don't think we need to normalize the data, as has been suggested, based on resort size -- let's not forget that many of us bought "whatever was being offered at the time", regardless of our "favorite"! We LOVED OKW and would have bought it, but all that was offered was BWV. We liked BWV, so it didn't hinder us in our purchase (I do confess, however -- dh is from Delware / NJ area, and from the very first time he ever took me to the shore there -- ugh. I'm a Carolinas beach girl. The boardwalk doesn't do much for me. Or at least, not the Rehoboth and Atlantic city versions!) Our first stay as
DVC owners was actually back to OKW! And it was on that trip that we saw it... VWL. It had just opened so we went to look around. Oh how dh and I just loved it! We each wondered if we should have held out for it instead of buying BWV. And then DH saw BCV. Now THAT's his love. I, on the other hand, confess i'm a mtns and tranquility kind of girl. THe bright beachy scene is good -- but not wholly me. As someone else pointed out, I marvel at Disney's ability to put something where it shouldn't be (i.e. a mountain lodge in FLorida!) Now THAT's themeing!! It honestly feels 5 degrees cooler there, even in August! Its proximity to MK, the activities available (water craft, Ft Wilderness, quick boat to COntemporary), its views (I love the bay!), the critters (otters and ducks and you name it...), the food, the music they play, THAT LODGE, the excellent pool and the way the waterfall just takes you to it... ALL of it!
It's true about the first love. We plan to stay in every resort, but I somehow have a feeling my heart will keep coming back to VWL! Wonder if DH will stay with me, or head back to SAB/BCV...
(Ummm, just in case you couldn't tell, I voted VWL...)
