What is your easiest go to meal with 6 ingredients or less?

My favourite meal only takes 2 ingredients, a phone and a credit card.

I order out with the best of them.

tacos: 1.5 pounds 90% lean ground beef, 1 packet taco seasoning. brown meat and follow directions on back of packet. serve with lettuce, salsa and tortilla or corn chips or spoon into taco shells.

Easiest with few ingredients:

Mac and Cheese Casserole

Kraft Mac and Cheese
Diced Ham
Peas
Wishbone Italian dressing

Cook the mac and cheese, stir in ham and peas, give a few shakes of dressing. Mix up. Bake on 350 for about 30 minutes. :thumbsup2

More ingredients, but super fast and easy:

Turkey Taco Salad

Black beans
lettuce
ground turkey
Bottle of 1000 island dressing
McCormick's taco seasoning
Crumbled tortilla chips
Shredded cheddar

Fry the ground turkey with taco seasoning, and toss in with the rest of the ingredients. Serve with sour cream.

And then my other easy go-to, but it's very starchy:

Kielbasa
Saurkraut
Lima beans
Mashed Potatoes

Fry up Kielbasa (or use a low fat smoked sausage), add saurkraut. Serve with Mashed potatoes and lima beans. We usually just pile it all together. Yum!

 I love fresh salmon, just curious as to what "spikes" are? I googled salmon spikes but didn't see aything obvious.

Oops, yeah, typo. I mean spices. My favorite is a mix of star anise, cardamom, allspice, and a touch of cumin. It gives the fish a very northern African taste.

I do have to say many of the guesses to what the hack a salmon spike is were quite funny. I mean I broil for 4 - 5 minutes and turn once in the oven.

Sorry for any confusion I caused because of the disconnect between brain and fingers, it happens quite often.

2 quarts water
3 tablespoons chicken base
1 pound chicken (cooked and diced)
1 heaping tablespoon chili powder
2-11 oz cans whole kernel corn
1/2 red pepper, diced
24 oz chunky garden style salsa

In a large sauce pan, add all ingredients and simmer for 6-8 minutes until peppers are cooked.

(FWIW - I do not like peppers - so I do not add them, and use the type of salsa that you like to eat. We eat a mild salsa, so that is what I use in this recipe.)

Mix 1 can of whole cranberry sauce, 8oz. french dressing and 1 packet onion soup mix. Pour over chicken breasts bake @ 350 for 30-40 min. We usually have rice and broccoli as sides.

Grilled Quesadillas:

Soft tortilla shells
butter/margarine
shredded cheddar/monterey/pepper jack cheese (your choice)
black beans (we buy them in a bag in the refrigerated section)
sour cream
salsa

We take the tortillas and lightly butter them on one side. Take one tortilla and place in a skillet (buttered side down). Spread it with a layer of black beans, then top with shredded cheese. Place another tortilla (buttered side up) on top of that. Once the bottom tortilla is golden brown, flip the whole thing over and brown the other side. Cut it into wedges, and serve with sour cream and salsa if you wish. (and sometimes we add some chopped jalepenos for a little added spice.)

I know these sound more like an appetizer or a party food, but we make them all the time for dinner because they're quick, they're cheap, and they're very filling with the black beans! One tortilla each is all we need for dinner!

I do this, but I toss a couple of chicken breasts in the crockpot that morning. This is our younger dd's favorite meal. Oh, and I just add the chicken, black beans, cheese on the tortilla, and bake them in the oven for 4 minutes or so.

Penne alfredo with Salmon

We buy the frozen atlantic salmon from Costco.
Throw salmon fillets in a pan with a little olive oil, cook on medium high, breaking the fillets into small bits as they thaw. Once it's all broken up, cooked through, and partly browned, pour a couple jars of store bought alfredo sauce into the pan. Throw some cooked penne pasta into the pan, mix together, and serve.

Very tasty, very easy, and all the kids like it.

Or if we want to have an actual fish meal, we'll wrap the frozen fillets in foil, with olive oil, garlic, and dill, and throw the foil packets on the gas grill for about twenty minutes.

We make a variation of this. I cut salmon into chunks (sometimes I buy it on sale, other times it is leftover from grilling) and saute with a little asparagus, add a tablespoon of jarred pesto and either leftover alfredo sauce or just some milk or half and half and then toss that into the cooked penne. I've also replaced asparagus with leftover broccoli. Very quick fridge to table meal.

Mine is ginger and soy sauce marinade, and then grilled chicken, pork, or seafood.

1 lb ground meat
envelope chili mix
16 oz can can tomato sauce
1 lb shredded cheese
1 can corn
1 lb elbow noodles cooked

Brown ground meat; then follow directions on envelope of chili mix (I only add water). Add tomato sauce & corn; simmer for about 10 minutes. Pour over cooked pasta; add cheese, stir & cover for 3 -4 minutes before serving to allow cheese to melt before serving.

I thought for sure someone would have said this already; tuna casserole.

We always have a can of tuna, a can of potato soup, and some macaroni or rotini or something on hand.

I use cream of mushroom soup in ours!

Mix 1 can of whole cranberry sauce, 8oz. french dressing and 1 packet onion soup mix. Pour over chicken breasts bake @ 350 for 30-40 min. We usually have rice and broccoli as sides.

This sounds good- maybe for pork chops too..........

American Chop Suey:
pasta
browned hamburger and onion
tomato soup (condensed)
tomato paste
garlic powder

Hey, I was right LOL

Italian grill cheese and tomato soup combo:

Sourdough bread or Italian, mozz cheese, provolone cheese and pepperoni. And a good old brand of tom soup.:goodvibes

Yum! I have never heard of beans in the refrigerator section!:confused3

They're in a little pouch, and it's black beans with chipotle, red, and cayanne peppers all mixed in. I think Azteca is the brand name that we use. They're really good, and not too spicy. They add just a little extra flavor to the mix. :thumbsup2

Mine is 1-800-get food to go. As long as the bill has less than six digits (with the cents) I'm good to go - LOL

I'm making yet another version of Salsa Chicken. I have some rotisserie chicken leftover.

About 1 1/2 lb. of shredded chicken
1 (drained) can of corn
1 (not drained) can of black beans (I'm trying this to thicken the mixture)
2 jars (total of 32 oz.) of Picante mild salsa

I put all of the ingredients in the crockpot on warm. I'll use it in tacos (hard and soft) tonight. We have lettuce, tomatoes, black olives, cheese, and sour cream. So technically it's over the 6, but the mix isn't. :) Smells good!

Spaghetti

3 cans of tomato sauce
envelope of spaghetti seasonings
1lb of lean ground beef
2 bay leaves
and some garlic powder to taste
Spaghetti noodles

Black Bean Soup

3 cans of black beans
one can of rotel
1 can of corn
1 can of chicken broth
onion and garlic

Saute onion and garlic for about 5 minutes then puree it with one can of beans. Then place in crock pot. Take 2nd can of beans and chicken broth and puree and put that in the crockpot. Add rotel and corn and last can of beans to crockpot. If you want it spicer add a few pickled jalapenos.

Beef Stew

What ever size roast you would like cut into small pieces
envelope of beef stew mix
Beef broth
onions and garlic
can of potatoes and carrots

Place in crockpot on low for 4-6 hours depends on how your crockpot cooks.

Chicken Pie

pie crusts not frozen
cooked chicken shredded
can of FF cream of chicken soup
can of veggieall

add water with the soup to the thickness you would like. Add veggies. Place pie crust in your pie pan. Add chicken and then the soup veggie mix. Put the top pie cruise on and use excess to make cut designs to add to the top. I use a small heart shaped cookie cutter to make small hearts for the top of mine. Cook at 400 for 20-30 minutes

Moravian Chicken Pie
Pie crusts
2 cans of chicken broth
cooked chicken
2T flour

Place pie crust in the pan. Add cooked chicken. I do not know how much to tell you because I do not use a recipe. Just fill the pie crust up with chicken. Mix the flour well with the broth. Pour over chicken. Normally you can not use all the broth mix. Place your top pie crust on the pie. Cook at 400 until done about 20-30 minutes. I then make a gravy with the other can of chicken broth. Use one tablespoon of oil to one tablespoon of flour and once it is at a low boil add the chicken broth.

If you do not have broth you can use bouillon cubes.
