What is Your Christmas breakfast Menu?

I enjoy reading about everyones Christmas traditions. Do you have a traditional Christmas morning breakfast?

A few years ago dh was out on Christmas Eve day and picked up some cinnamon crunch bagels and a container of cream cheese from Panera Bread. We had it on Christmas morning with OJ, coffee and milk..... soooo yummy! It has now become our tradition. Then we head over to my in-laws for a large brunch.

I make Do-Ahead eggs--they go in the fridge the night before, then into the oven in the morning.

We started a new tradition last year that had been my Aunt's tradition when my cousins were growing up. She gave me a recipe for caramel rolls that you prepare the night before, put in the oven (don't turn on) and then turn on the oven in the morning when you get up and then they're ready by the time we're finished with presents! easy and yummy!!

Paula Deen's french toast casserole, sausage links, I rotate an egg based breakfast casserole, and cinnamon rolls. Also usually some fresh fruit. Breakfast is our big meal of the day on Christmas

Bacon, eggs, pancakes. I'm looking for something new this year, but I have some stubborn eaters(DH!)

Maybe homemade Cinnamon Rolls, but they take forever.

We also hit the candy in our stockings hard!!!

I make a ham, cheese, egg, milk and bread breakfast casserole. I prepare it the night before and pop it in the fridge. While everyone's waking up and dad's checking to see if Santa came, I get the camera ready and pop the casserole into the oven. By the time we're done opening presents breakfast is ready and we can sit down as a family. After that the chaos of opening boxes, putting stuff together and visiting family begins but those couple hours are ours alone.

I would like to sit with them around the tree and enjoy watching our son play with his toys rather than standing in the kitchen cooking for several hours. An ideas?

Dark Hot Chocolate with Raspberry Vodka

oh, and plain Hot Chocolate for the kids.

There may be some pastries in there too.

I make monkey bread since I do not like casseroles either! But then, I am happy eating a breakfast roll and tea. Your husband might want more of a breakfast?

I like a version like this that uses butterscotch pudding.

Sausage bread
pizza doll rolled out, cover with cooked ground sausage, garlic powder,mozzarella. roll up and cook at 400 for about 25 min-will look golden brown.

make the day before then just warm it up in the morning

Sarah Lee Coffee Cake - my DH had this as a tradition growing up and we are continuing it. I bake a breakfast pie (quiche like thing - eggs, sausage, milk, hash browns, cheese in a pie crust) that I prepared the night before. When we visit my in-laws (not this year) they have scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage & tamales.

Oh yeah, now here's a good idea I never even thought about boozing up my hot chocolate or coffee on Christmas morning, but it sounds like a good idea to me...and It will help me deal with MIL, too

We usually have coffee/hot cocoa/orange juice, bagels and creamcheese and Christmas cookies for breakfast on Christmas morning. We don't do a big breakfast because we eat our meal around 12:30 or so.

Our traditional Christmas "brunch" comes from my grandmother, who grew up on a dairy farm in Indiana. My kids call it "egg soup" but the real name is creamed eggs on toast. • Spinach, gorgonzola & pine nut quiche (set up night before, baked Christmas morning.)
• Poppy seed bread (the Pillsbury mix - made the night before)
• Bacon (always have to have bacon!)
• Fresh fruit
• A cocktail called the Lumberjack - made with Southern Comfort, maple syrup, gin and apple brandy. And a fresh rosemary sprig! Sounds horrible but is quite tasty.

Hot chocolate and candy from the stocking or Christmas Cookies. Breakfast of champions! (and kids bouncing off the walls)

Our big meal on Christmas day is at Noon so we don't usually eat too much for breakfast - whatever we can find. This year my sister and her family are visiting and they have requested that we have their morning tradition - Blueberry pancakes made by her Dh, before opening presents . I've warned my kids and they are okay with it.

Our breakfast tradition started in the early 1900's, long before I was born. We have kidney stew (made from lamb kidneys), scrambled eggs, sausage links, toast and OJ. My Mom and I make the stew a week or two before Christmas and freeze it. It just tastes better that way I have had this on Christmas morning for 49 years.

I put out a fruit tray with yogurt dip and some fresh muffins and bagels from the bakery! That way everyone can eat when they want! We mostly graze on Christmas till our big meal in the evening!
