What is your average length of stay at WDW?

We've got a long way to travel too. We usually stay in Florida for 30 nights, that includes at least 21 nights at WDW and a few nights for UO and Seaworld.
Shortest has been 8 nights :scared1: - FAR too short - longest has been 43 nights - now that was fun!

Our first trip was 10 days and the last 2 were 16 days. We like to go every 3 years so a longer trip lets us take our time and enjoy everything. On our last trips we spent 2 days in each park (3 in MK), one day in each water park, 2 days at Sea World, and one day at Kennedy Space Center.

Out of the 10 past and future trips...

... 1 will be 5 nights (April 2010)
... 1 will be 6 nights (January 2010)
... 1 was 10 nights (September 2006)
... 1 will be 12 nights at Disney + 2 nights at Universal (August/September 2010)
... 6 will be or have been 14 nights (July/August 2002, March 2004, March/April 2005, September 2007, September 2008 and September 2009)

I have only done 7 or 8 nights at the longest so how exactly did you do 43? If you don't mind me asking?

As we come from the UK we stay for between 14 and 16 nights...anything less than that doesn't really make it worth it considering the price and length of the flights!

The 5-7 day trips were not doing it for us, trips seem more special staying a Saturday thru another Saturday into another Friday. We like to relax, take a couple of days off and do nothing but enjoy the resort and pool which a longer stay allows.

Usually between 14 and 21 nights, like previously mentioned this is due to the cost of travel from the U.K (i.e Dec 09 £1081 ppn rtn $1746). However if I lived in the U.S, I would do shorter trips, so there was less of a gap between hols/vacations.

We usually go for 9 days with 7-day park passes (with waterparks & more package so we can hit Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, and DisneyQuest). This year we added the week long unlimited Universal pass too.

It was a bit much this year and we didn't get our money's worth from the waterparks or Universal. Since the 7-day pass was only a few bucks more than the 5-day pass we were considering, it wasn't that big of a deal. Still, you try to pack as much into the trip as possible and we were exhausted!

We started out with 5 - 7 night trips. We now do 10 - 11 nights, so that we are actually able to relax a little on our vacation.

As to the OP's question about what to do on the 'extra day'. I would not go to US or SW. I'd go back to MK. That is largely due to the fact that adding a 5th day to a 4 day ticket would only cost $3.

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Since we've been married w/ kids, our trips have been 13-14 nights long. This year we have 4 nights on property, and 10 nights off-site.

Although, this year we are also planning on a Christmas trip for only 7 nights, and a parents-only trip for 4 nights in March.

We average any where between 8 and 10 nights at the world. The lowest was 3 nights and the highest was 19 nights.

In the past we've gone for 8-10 nights. I really think that we got to see/do everything that we had planned, even with kids. (You can NEVER see everything at wdw!!) This time we're going for 14 nights without kids! This give us:

6 days in wdw parks (we're getting 5 day military tickets and we have one day left from a non-expiring ticket from a previous trip)
2 days in Universal / IOA
1 day at Sea World
1 day MNSSHP (taking the morning off to pack, then getting to MK at 4
3 days off (except breakfast / dinner plans). We're really looking forward to these days!
2 travel days

I'm expecting this to be much more relaxed than any other trip. The days off should really help!

It is a two day drive down, and another two day drive back home for us, so the longer we get to stay, the better. Last year was our first trip to Disney World, and we stayed for 7 days / 6 nights. This summer, we are traveling with a smaller party (4 instead of the 7 we were last summer) and will get to stay for 12 days / 13 nights. We hope to do a similar length trip next summer as well.

Don't hate me but for me, a 6 day/7 night trip is best. Anything more than that, I really start missing home.

We tend to do longer trips. I like the 10-12 night trips. Our longest trip was 14 nights.

We only get to go WDW once a year and living in London its a long way to go. so we go as long as we can 14-15 nights. Would love to take more trips there but can't :sad2:

We like to stay 8-9 nights in the park. If staying in the park, we will get a hotel out in town the first night. The next morning we are up bright and early, and take a shuttle/taxi to the hotel to drop off our luggage. They will store it, and then move it to the room when it's ready. All the while we are in the parks having fun. When staying 9 nights, we will typically take two or three days off from the parks. This provides for some relax time. Often we will go to a water park, go to the pool, or tour around Disney itself. Many people do not realize how many other things the Disney property has to offer.

When we stay off property, as we are doing this year, the extra sleep night is not needed. Since we are offsite, we'll rent a car, and go to downtown Disney the first night. Again, I'm looking for that 8 night stay as a minimum. Someone stated earlier that with 7 nights, you feel like you just got there. It's so true.

Our last two big trips have been nine nights. This October and hopefully December we are doing 5 nights each, these are going to be quick trips while school is out. I prefer 9-10 nights. I am hoping next June to go for two weeks, that will be the end of our AP's.
