What is within arm's length of your bed? ( Not my idea )

Hmmm... well... I have a bookshelf type headboard and theres:
Chloraseptic
Locking pistol box
books
alarm clock
2 remotes
and at night - usually two dogs..:goodvibes

BriarfoxinWA-Your shepard looks like my puppy Delgado, he is 5 months and 60 pounds and enjoys "talking" .

and his Lab looks like my roommate's (and kind of mine now, too) other than the fact that mine is brown and not black. He likes "talking" as well.

I have:

Tums
phone
remote
lamp
clock
current book and many past books
a laundry basket of clean laundry
a Disney bag full of socks that need to be sorted and folded
Anti-itch cream
miscellaneous toys that my kids leave in my bed

Yes Zelda loves to "talk". She's shedding like crazy right now so I've been using the Furminator on her daily. She just lays there and whines. I know it's not hurting her she'd just rather be running around the yard.:goodvibes

At least one cat.
Alarm clock
Remote
Baby Powder
Deoderant
Comb
Pens
Pencils
Nail clippers
Book
Puzzle book
clipboard

A lamp, some picture frames, a coaster and the telephone.

I could hit an intruder with the coaster (it's made of stone) to stun them while I dial 911 on the phone. :confused3

(I can't hit someone with the lamp - it's too pretty, I wouldn't want it damaged!)

  • Bottled water
  • Cellphone
  • Book
  • Ponytail holder
  • Vicodin

...that is about it. :goodvibes

DH has 7 rifles, 3 handguns, the remote to the sleep number bed, and the remote for his rock crawler r/c jeep cause you never know when you need to r/c rock crawl in the middle of the night.

Oh, and the guns are securely locked in the gun safe. My DH considers the gun safe "furniture" and uses it as his nightstand.

I was on another forum and this was the question asked.... and here was the response from the guy who posed the question:

- Fire extinguisher
- Gas mask with toxic fume cartridges
- Weapon (I won't go any further on that)
- Backpack with all essential items to survive for at least 3 weeks, and run my business (spare Netbook is in there as well).
- All important documents, IDs, debit cards, scanned onto a secure flash drive

:scared1:

Oh my gosh. I think I know that guy...or someone just like him. Very scary.

Um, the guy lives in NY, about 60 miles north of NYC.... near a petroleum plant.....

New Windsor?

Love that you started this!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

And I thought I was the only paranoid in the world.
To play along ...next to my bed: weapon, glasses, flashlight that doubles as a weapon...

that guy scares me!!!

I have an alarm clock, a jewelry box, a bra and mail :)

Jeez, I'm glad DH didn't read that guy's list or he'd be feeling the need to go get some of that crap. He volunteered with the Red Cross for years so he's very into "preparedness."

His side of the bed:
flashlight
this little light you tap and it comes on
a big glowstick (he seems to be fascinated with light sources now that I'm thinking about it.) :lmao:
alarm clock
a weapon (not a gun)

My side of the bed:
3 books
lamp
my glasses

Yeah, I'm only prepared if there's a reading emergency. ;)

Reading emergency! hah that was funny..LOL :lmao::lmao::lmao:

This is a fun one!!! :thumbsup2

I have....

Alarm Clock
Cell Phone
Landline Phone
2 Remote controls
Tums
Excedrin Migraine
Flashlight
Hammer

Arms reach.....box of tissues, alarm clock, and usually 2-3 cats. (oh and DH!) I'd have to actually sit up, stretch, and reach into a drawer to get my glasses, flashlight, and eyedrops.

Guy sounds like a head case.

Within arms' length of mine ...
- Daniel Silva's The Defector (book is currently captivating me)
- Ethan Canin's America America (you will feel the emotion bubble up inside you)
- Katherine Howe's The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane (rage and riot and historically immaculate and cool)
- my vitamins (go Andrew Lessman!) and a six pack of Caffeine Free Diet Coke bottles
- my blackberry, the vibrating alarm on which wakes me up in the AM
- yesterday's clothes
- pictures of random things I want to remember, neatly piled, awaiting an album home
- my palm tree print pajamas in case I get cold
- my backup pink crochet knit blankie, that I have had since birth, in case I get cold
- the lamp
- the cell phone charger cord
- all of the change I pulled out of my pockets

Within arm's length...hmm...

My side table
Lamp
Book (or 2...or 3...or....)
Alarm clock that currently doesn't work
Cell phone (my current alarm clock)

I think that's it...
