What is this Free Dining?

I've heard so much about it but know nothing. Can you explain to me what is free dininq ? and how it works?

It's a special booking package - room at rack rate, tickets included for all the guests staying on the reservation and you get the dining plan for free.

It is only offered at limited times of the year, usually when they want to fill up the otherwise vacant rooms (hurricane season, back to school, etc) and the booking time frame is short, maybe 4-6 weeks and the number of reservations available at each resort is also limited. It has been offered in late Aug and early Sept for the past two years.

normally you would pay for the meals on daily basis...lets say..1 adult, its about $40 a day...during free dining they give it to you for free...

As stated Disney offers a dining plan which you can add to a Disney package, normally it costs about $39 pp per day for adults and about $11 pp per day for children during these promotions they give you that package for free.
The offer to the public normally comes out in April or there abouts IF they are going to offer it, there has just been a bounce back offer with this but you could only book it if you were AT your resort currently staying on site, you had to call from a resort phone and have a current reservation.
