Not sure what airport to fly into, but HHI and VB have very excellent activities programs for kids. I am sure they are doing this to make up for not being at WDW. HHI is wonderful for biking and they have bikes with second seats and pull behind carts. I wish I had the activity sheets to show you the activities they provide... I only have VB's, but I know they are similar in number of activities and the quality of activities. The CMs are fantastic at HHI. Outside of the planned activities and biking around, of course the pool, and I have to say that the poolside guards/CMs are most entertaining daily. And HHI offers much in a selection of movie theatres, restaurants, shopping, and other family entertainment.

This truly won't be a leap... but rather a step over to the wonderful world of Disney outside of WDW.

Have a great time :thumbsup2

You would fly into Savannah and from there you would need a rental car to get to HHI (abotu 45 minutes away). A direct route would be to take I-95 north into SC and then get on Hwy 278 and go until you hit water.

DVC HHI is one one side of Hwy 278, while their activites/games/breach is on the other side. There is a resort shuttle that takes you over there. To do anything else on the island you would need to drive. Hilton Head has lots to do from dolphin tours to mini golf (there is a mini golf place near the Disney resort...it is in walking distance if I remember, but it's better to drive). Just outside HH is the town of Blufton, which has two outlet malls. Beaufort is also not that far and a good town to tour as well. Plus you could always head over to Savannah for an afternoon and do some tours there.

We were there over Easter last year and had a great time. My kids were older but still participated in some of the activities. We did the Pickney Island Wildlife adventure which is a walking tour that we went to in a van with the naturalist on safe. We saw many birds and alligators. We also got up one morning and made cornbread over the open fire. Went to a talk and learned about the difference between alligators and crocodiles. They also have goofy bingo, bedtime stories with cookies and milk, geocaching, unbirthday party, secrets of the marsh, games by the pool, campfires. There are some activities that there is a fee for such as island tour, kayaking, gyotaku, beach bracelets, mickey's dream catchers, tie dye shirts and other crafts. Hope this helps. You may be able to find copies of the activities on the disboards somewhere.

We had such a good time we are going back this year over spring break.

These are the airports I watch when going to HHI. It depends on how far we want to drive and the cost of airfare compared to 2 days of driving and a hotel night.

SAV CHS JAX ATL and even MCO, if there is a really good deal.
