What is there to do at AsMo on a non-park day?

Trying to decide on a resort for a quick 2 or 3 night trip in December. Do they decorate the Allstars for Christmas? We will probably just do MK on this trip & for only 1 day. Then we will have a non-park day .......is this wise at AsMo? Is there anything to do there?

There's the pool, a shop, & maybe an arcade, but I think thats about it. However, Downtown Disney is just a short busride away, and there is tons to do there.

A non-park day doesn't mean you have to stay at your resort. You could go to Downtown Disney and shop/look around, you could take a self-tour of the monorail resorts, you could go to a waterpark, you could try out some watercraft at another resort, etc.

At the All Stars, you won't have much to do. There is the pool, the arcade, and walking around and looking at all the icons for active things to do.

What to do at AllStars on a non-park day?

- get up late
- grab a quick bite
- get on a bus to Downtown Disney
- after enjoing DTD get on a bus to another resort that others pay 200-800/night for
- enjoy all their services
- return to AllStars for a swim
- go to bed or return to DTD for Pleasure Island (depending on kids presence or age)

At least that is what I'd do...

There is a kick-a$$ pinball machine in the arcade if you're into that - Harley Davidson Pinball(stern).

I logged about 10 hours on it last week.

The Winter-Summerland mini-golf is a lot of fun (and not very expensive)! If you do the Winter side it's VERY Christmasy (is that a word?) Both sides end in Santa's workshop. There's a sled in the front that you can use for photos too.

Diathoney - is the mini golf walkable? I know you can get the BB bus but it doesn't look much further than the McDonalds - are there sidewalks? Can you remember the cost?

Other than sit by the pool, which in Dec might not be an option, nothing. You'll have to leave the resort and find other non-park options, like some of the ones listed above.

It's just down from McDonald's, next to Blizzard Beach. I think we paid $34 for 2 adults and 2 kids, for 18 holes. If we wanted to do the other side (which we did) it was 1/2 price. It took about two hours to do one side. We had a blast - some of the holes are really well done! It was a very low-key and relaxing activity.

I forgot to talk about the sidewalks - yes I believe there is a sidewalk from Blizzard Beach to the golf course. I would bet Disney has transportation to the golf course, but we drove ourselves from AKL.

I've heard you can go around and search for all 101 dalmations at the Dalmation building.

The All Stars do set up for Christmas, but you can also visit the other resorts to see how they are set up. Perhaps Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian in the morning, and Boardwalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club in afternoon with dinner at Cape May Cafe, or something like that.
