What is the worst movie ever, in your opinion?

Charlie's Angels - not sure which one, but the one where a truck carrying a helicopter falls off a bridge, and they manage to unhook the copter from the truck, get it started, take off from the back of the falling truck and then swoop down and rescue the other people who are falling.

Microwave Massacre was pretty bad.

Now I want to see No Country For Old Men to see if I like it. Didn't it just win best movie and actor or am I thinking of something else? Did anyone like it?

Microwave Massacre?!?!?!? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm sorry, but that just screams Oscar nomination!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I gotta go look that up.

I'm surprised at how many movies that make you "think" are being classified as worst movie ever in here :/

I had the same thought...some of the movies mentioned are really great!(IMHO of course)

Dune

Reds

anything by Stephen King (both on TV and in theaters)

yep - never getting back those lost hours of my life....

Personally, I find that any number of movies that are supposed to make you think actually do not do that so much as attempt to force the director's viewpoint down your throat OR they are marred by poor acting/poor plot.

Which ones do you think are really great that have been mentioned? :)

Not trying to be snarky, I'm truly curious. I think it's fascinating all the different opinions on movies!! :goodvibes

I have only ever walked out on one movie in my entire life...The Aristocrats.

Guess I wasn't alone...there was a sign in the lobby (that I failed to notice when I walked in :headache: ) saying that the movie was offensive and no refunds would be offered if you walked out

I was thinking it. Everyone in high school loved it. it was kinda funny the first time but after that it got old real quick

It wasn't even funny the first time.

I have seen it, now, three times. Once, forced by a friend.

The second time was a requirement, believe it or not, for a class, one day, in Nutrition, right before a School Holiday/Break. The teacher didn't want to do anything, and made questions up, from the movie, for us. Pathetic. :P

The third time was when I was spending the night at a friend's house. I thought I'd give it another go, but I fell asleep about ten in, I crap you not.

your teacher must hate students. lol. you should get a reward for watching it three times. I've only wathced it once and then i've seen bits and pieces of it here and there. I'm not going to lie I use the quote 'my lips hurt real bad' a few times. :faint:

Vanilla Sky, by a mile. Grease 2 is in second place.
I am at a loss because if DH wants to see a movie that doesn't interest me, I have him take a friend of one of the kids (if they are old enough). He took two of the kids to see "Kung Fu Panda" this weekend and they liked it; he didn't.
Some movies were OK when they came out but totally cheesy now--like "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" with Peter Frampton and the BeeGees, or the movie of "Tommy".
My students (seniors) all wanted me to watch "Superbad" last year but I couldn't find the time (actually I had tons of time; it just didn't interest me).
Robin M.

American Beauty

The Royal Tenanbaums and

(sorry Disney fans)
Atlantis--I DESPISED that movie!

Obviously you guys were much much smarter than my husband or his friends (I am blameless, I was just going on a date with my new boyfriend and meeting his buddies!). Because none of you have mentioned THE worst movie ever, which means you were smart enough to not see it.

Dungeons and Dragons.

Bad bad BAD movie.

I saw it with them when it first came out. They were all D&D players in high school, and just like the writer/director of the movie, looked forward to the movie for 20 years.

All the other people in the theater were just like them.

People were almost crying, it was so incredibly horrible. Jeremy Irons must have been about to lose his house, or had a balloon payment due, or was in a divorce about to pay alimony or something...

And the ONLY positive thing anyone had to say after the movie (this wasn't a member of my party, but someone in the elevator leaving the movie area) was that they liked the breast plate on the elf-type character.

Hubby decided to re-watch it the other night, and it was still just as bad. Thanks to him, whenever I look at my Disneyland receipts in the future I'm going to think about that movie, b/c that's what I was doing while he was watching the "movie".

Surfs Up gets a thumbs down.

Oh watch it again! It's a lovely little movie with fabulous music and really interesting animation. At first I didn't think much of it, but now it's one of my favorites.

Ace Ventura - When nature calls. I fell asleep after about 10 minutes. But I don't like Jim Carrey (except for the Truman Show)

I felt the same, and then I watched it with my then 12 and 10 year old brothers (the intended audience for the movie, lol) and it became hilarious to me. Except for the love scene, that was embarrassing to watch with them, but the rest of it was too funny with them.

"The Jazz Singer" with Neil Diamond is still one of my guilty pleasures, for sure. So my taste level may be suspect.:lmao:

Amy

Can't go wrong with the Diamond! :rotfl:
