Just curious about the total number of points available per resort. I read on a post (fogset which one exactly) that there are over 5 million points available at BLT. Now are they calculating for all 12 months or do they only count the use years that they are selling? Since they don't sell certain months are these the points they are using for cash ressies? Do they add these non-sold months in the total number of available points? Does anyone know they total number of points available at VGC? I'm not very good at the mathiness!
Several disboard members, myself included, have tracked point allocations for the various
DVC resorts. I estimate that BLT has about 5,733,530 points allocated to it. My estimate is based on Declarations and deeds recorded on the Orange County (FL) Comptroller's website, which show that each two-bedroom villa is allotted 19,640 points and each Grand Villa is allotted 34,975 points.
As noted by
tjkraz, UY has nothing to do with the allocation to points to a DVC resort. Its a myth that a resort's points are evenly distributed among the 8 UYs. In BLT's case, over 54% of the points declared to date are in the February UY. Even if all of the remaining undeclared points were placed in UYs other than February, February will still have over 34% of the total BLT points. In AKV's case, December is the predominant UY, while August is the predominant UY at VWL.
As of 2/24/2010, Disney has sold about 49.52% of BLT's 5,733,530 points. This means that almost half of BLT is available to the DVC membership to book reservations on points, and that the other half is still owned by Disney and available for booking through CRO.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
