Not against disney dress code but you should of done research and not gone during gay days if it makes you uncomfortableA few examples are two male stick figures holding hands with the saying "we do it hard" another example was the "****" emoji above two male stick figures holding a rainbow flag with the saying "it happens wipe it off". The stick figure shirt was rampant this morning and there are variations that include the female stick figure.
I'm sorry but I feel this is just totally inappropriate attire when there are children all over and I'm constantly being asked by my 9 year old what this and that shirt means.
OP I'm curious .... Did you know it was "Gay Days" today? I'm one of those ultra planners so would have known and would have avoided the park myself today, especially with small children. If you didn't know I can certainly understand your feelings.Noticed lots of vulgar shirts this morning at MK. It was so bad we left. What is MK's policy on this as many were inappropriate for a park full of kids.
That's the given. It's only a description. There is no proof that these shirts exist - and if they do exist, they passed the Security CMs' inspection. The description of the shirts seem vulgar to me.
I'm not understanding your point that because it's Gay Days at WDW it would be good to avoid the parks, especially with young children.OP I'm curious .... Did you know it was "Gay Days" today? Did you have hoppers so you could at least go to another park?
Disney rocks as an all inclusive company, there's no room for any racial, religious, sexual orientation discrimination there. That's the given. It's only a description. There is no proof that these shirts exist - and if they do exist, they passed the Security CMs' inspection.
Last year, the OP stated foreigners were holding up the FP lines. That too was a "description."
Disney doesn't relax their standards during Gay Days. If anything, they can be stricter and sell more of their bright red shirts with "Peace Love" and the rainbow insignia on it. They are also selling rainbow Mickey Ear headbands.
I did not say that it would be good to avoid the park on Gay Days. I said that I personally would not have gone to the park with my small children on that particular day.I'm not understanding your point that because it's Gay Days at WDW it would be good to avoid the parks, especially with young children.
I wouldn't care what the identity of the wearer is, if it can't be worn during the family hour on network tv, it's vulgar.
Why not?I did not say that it would be good to avoid the park on Gay Days. I said that I personally would not have gone to the park with my small children on that particular day.
ok but why not? it's like a regular dayI did not say that it would be good to avoid the park on Gay Days. I said that I personally would not have gone to the park with my small children on that particular day.
You wouldn't take your kids because of crowds, but you'd still go without them?I did not say that it would be good to avoid the park on Gay Days. I said that I personally would not have gone to the park with my small children on that particular day.
French Connection UK has advertised widely in NYC with just their initials, knowing it would create controversy. The ads were not removed when it happened, and it brought plenty of attention to the company.remember that WDW gets alot more international visitors than DL. What may be deemed "vulgar" to an American person may be just funny to a visitor from a different country. A person from UK for example might wear a shirt from French Connection UK ( a UK clothing brand) and not realise that American people wont recognise the brand name and may think the brand name initials vulagar and be offended. Also dont forget that international visitors may not speak English as their first language and may not realise that the English words on their shirts may be deemed vulgar to an American person
Travel alternative Sashay Away...LOVE IT!!You wouldn't take your kids because of crowds, but you'd still go without them?

On a related aside the NYC subway system is celebrating Pride Month. Are their ads vulgar or to be avoided with small children? Or both?

Lie to your kids about what? None of the examples I gave of explaining the shirts you found vulgar were lies.Ok so now every post that I've ever made is under scrutiny. I'm sure those that brought up a statement I made last year about people from another country other than the US that had broken english and tried to use that to gain fastpass entrance to a ride, are just looking for a snowflake reason to attack me. As someone stated I guess I'm suppose to avoid "gay" days so I don't have to lie to my kids.
