I am starting this thread because I was thinking about the nicest thing a person I didn't really know ever did for me and my family.

It was a post card exchange thing from WDW and tooyellow313 sent me a pm and said she would sent my 2 DD's a post card.

Well the day before we left I got a fed ex air mail package with 2 post cards ( 1 from Cinderalla for my 3 year old and one from pooh for my baby). In the package there also was a light up magic wand for my 3 year old and a pooh bib for the baby.

I was so blown away with her kindness. :goodvibes DD was so exctied to get a package in the mail, it just started out our trip so right, the whole trip was great.

DD still plays with the wand and tells all her friends that Cinderella gave it too her. When we saw Cindy at WDW that trip she remembered to thank her for it. princess:

She told me that her DD's were grown now and she loved sharing the magic.

I was so touched. It was such a kind thing to do.

Anybody else?

Stephanie (ChrisnSteph) sent me a wonderful book that I really needed to read. I thought it was so sweet of her and it was so nice to know someone else understood.

Mine was actually a group of DISers.. my DIS family from the Collectors Board. :goodvibes The first year that my illness progressed to the point that I was unable to make the annual September pin event, a bunch of wonderful, kind and generous people hatched a plan without me knowing it. They registered me for the event (which was a huge expense alone) and chipped in to pay for my registration and all of the pins that they thought I would like. Then they took a real size headshot of me and put it on a stick and carried it throughout the parks during the event taking pictures with someone holding it up "just like I was there". Raulandpinboy even wore a red wig.. :rotfl: They suprised me with it with a group phone call from one of the meets down there.. they had me in tears that they cared so much about me and went through all that trouble. :grouphug: I will NEVER forget that and have a special place in my heart for all of them.

At the moment I'm having a horrible time at home, and a lot of dis'ers are responding to my post about it. It means so much because when I first posted people thought I was a drama queen.

But now that I really am having some drama everyone seems to have forgotten their first impressions of me and I'm getting some really nice, understanding responses! Thanks guys!

There have been a few. Many wonderful Disers sent me fabric to make head scarves. Feralpeg and Dan Murphy sent me hats. I get PMs frequently from several Disers asking how I'm doing and it's nice to know other people think of what I'm going through right now. Browneyes spent several days doing leg work to see if a particular food bank is available in my area (it's not  ) and I really appreciated all her effort. Probably the nicest is the many who've given me :grouphug: and :wizard: to keep going. I don't know where I'd be without my disboard friends.

I couldn't even list all of the things that DISers have done for me. There are at least 100 people here who have gone above and beyond.

Thanks for posing the question though. I just spent the last 10 minutes remembering some great people and how special they have made me feel over the last 6 years.

I've gotten some sweet care packages over the years such as pens from DL that I wasn't able to buy when I was there, Disney pins, a book, bookmark, mousepad, lotion, disney dollars, Dollywood dollars, maple syrup, Stankee Candle, stuffed Big Red Car from the Wiggles, etc. The most generous contained a trip to WDW! :earseek: I agree with Tink33. Thanks for stirring up some great memories. :goodvibes

Wow everyone, that sounds great.

MeanLaureen, my husband laughed when I read him yours. (about holding up the picture.) :rotfl:

Boston Tea Party, wow, a trip to WDW :earseek:

Of course the package was the one that stands out, but I have also recieved PM's and help and support with my DD's food allergies. Offers to used Disney Visa movie tickets and other kind gestures.

Without saying too much, PKK/MJK has been a great friend. Through her kindness, we have had the opportunity to meet a very special lady. princess:

Dan Murphy and his daughter graciously let me borrow a calculator that I needed for a summer class. I would not have been able to take the class without his help. :disrocks:

PKK/MJK has become a good friend and helped guide our family through some rocky waters as DD began her stint as a CM. :goodvibes

I live in UK and I mentioned in a thread that my DD had lost her DVC pin playing gold in WDW and a lovely lady sent us 10 DVC pins and a lanyard to us all the way to UK free of charge.

This was so wonderful

How very sweet!!!! I am amazed how wonderful people can be.

BTW hi! I haven't seen you around in a while.

Thanks to Austensmom, I was able to get CRT to take my little princess to breakfast with Cindy :Pinkbounc

I love this thread! I was just thinking about how wonderful everyone here can be. Of course, there have been a few times I've posted a question and I've gotten tons of answers. One time, I needed to find a red fanny pack for my nephew and someone even posted links to ebay auctions! And there are the folks who sent me cyber hugs when I was feeling down. And the two who read my posts on foods from my childhood who have sent me suggestions on how to make the foods I was missing.

The DIS is a great place. :cool1:

Lots of great folks here. :goodvibes

My GAGWTA/Breast Cancer Survivor sistas inspire and support me every day. My posts often get wordy but they never seem to mind. :teeth:

The group of Dis-ers I met on my 2004 post-treatment Wonder cruise were a special bunch. Our trip planning and online chat helped me get through some rough days. We had a great time on the cruise and it was a vacation I will never forget. :grouphug:

Quite a few Dis-ers helped me out technically when I was learning the ropes of online posting. Dan Murphy and Rippington's Fan helped me learn to post pictures. Others have helped with various things, too, whenever I asked (wish I could remember all their names). Dreamflight99 was very helpful sharing information with me on the Dolphin recently which helped make our stay more enjoyable.

I enjoy chatting with the animal lovers here. I am always moved to see so many respond so kindly when one of us loses a pet. When I lost my own the responses helped me feel better knowing so many understood. :flower:

I'd like to thank a Dis-er named Lyn for helping us to extend our first trip home - we've been "online friends" for years because of having daughters born about the same time but I thought her generosity of adding a night on to our first trip was way above and beyond and I just wanted to take this opportunity to give you a huge public THANK YOU to her!!!!!

The timing of this is so perfect!! Just today, BeccaGrace did the most unselfish thing anyone has ever done for me. She gave up her ADR for CRT breakfast with her two princesses so that my three could go!! The only downer was that she wasn't able to pick up the dinner I released at 1900 Park Fare!! If anyone has one for 11/30 for 5 people, please let her know. Kindness deserves kindness!! Thanks, Sara!!!! princess: princess: princess:

Boy, I cannot START to tell you of the MANY wonderful things that people have done for me on the DIS. The companionship, the gifts, the love... it's UNBELIEVABLE.

The biggest thing that comes to mind was on my very worse day, September 5, 2002. I just received the news that my Mom had passed away not a minute after I arrived at work. I remember just sitting down at my computer and typing a short title "My Mom is Gone".

I left the building and got into my car. I was literally in a fog. Somehow I made it home, trying to figure out how to tell my 10yo son that the woman he's love more than life was gone. I arrived at my apartment and my phone was ringing. It was a DISer. After that another DISer called. 3 of my closest pals were just THERE for me on the worse day of my life.

I turned on the computer and my PMs and the thread was loaded with wonderful thoughts and prayers. It gave me the strength to survive this mess....

I remember when I found out about my Mom's cancer just 3 weeks earlier. The first two people I called were people who had suffered the loss of a parent to cancer, two DISers. They carried me through the the next few weeks, their care and love was unwavering.

My board host family and some of the wonderful people here on the DIS sent the BIGGEST flowers at my Mom's funeral. I'll never forget them, NEVER. And you all KNOW who you are.

Six months later the same thing happened to my Dear Dad. Again, my DIS friends called and contacted me with the words and love I needed right when I needed it most.

I sit here crying thinking about the cameraderie and kindness of the people here on the DIS. Like in real life, they don't always have to be around, but when you NEED them, there they are....

God bless the DIS.

My DS10 is severely mentally handicapped. He can't talk or play like normal kids do, but he loves music. His favorite video is "Fantasia" and he watches it every day. A few weeks ago our 15yr old "Fantasia" tape broke. Since that film is locked in the famous Disney vault, it was unavailable for purchase anywhere. He was freaking out and I was freaking out--"Fantasia" is a healing balm to him and he wasn't handling the loss well. I posted a message about his distress and had several people respond, but two of them actually sent my their own copies! Thanks to SplshMtn99 and lyeag we now have two copies of "Fantasia"--one stays at home at all times, the other goes with Christian to respite, to Grandma's house, on vacation, even camping.

You've never lived until you have watched "Fantasia" in the pitch-black woods by the light of a roaring fire :goodvibes
