What is the most annoying thing you encountered at Disneyland/California Adventures?

One of the only sour notes of my recent trip was the one EMH we decided to spend getting on Peter Pan... we were about ten families back, and they were still testing the ride. No one let us know how long it would be. We all stood there for 20 minutes before anyone was let on. I talked to City Hall about it, they basically shrugged and said that it happens. Mentioned it to @DisneylandToday on Twitter, and they hooked me up with 5 re-admit passes (like Fastpasses you can use anywhere). Thought I hit the jackpot, used one, went to use another the next morning and they had expired. No one told me they were only good same-day. Oh well.

We rarely ride Peter Pan first thing. It seems everyone rushes there because they've heard you should. But to me it's not worth it unless we can get on within 10-minutes. I agree it's annoying when CM don't tell you the ride won't be up for at least X minutes. I understand that they can't promise it will be up within a certain time, but they should have an idea that it won't be ready for at least a number of minutes. During our last trip we headed to Toy Story first thing in the morning. It wasn't up and running yet and we ran into the same issue. Everyone is lining up for a ride that isn't open. We finally left. Turned out RSR was also closed and a ton of people were heading down the Boardwalk towards Toy Story. I thought it sure would be nice if they had a better way of letting guests know that rides are closed temporarily. I'm hoping the new app helps in that department, but who knows.

I hate those battery powered bubble wands and they annoy the snot out of me sometimes. Please don't flame me for this comment:duck::duck:... Don't get me wrong, under normal crowd conditions they don't bug me, but when the parks are crowded heavily you just can't escape the bubbles. Those floating bubbles land on your camera, clothes, glasses etc. And strollers that ram into the back of your heels and leave nasty sores. I have nothing against strollers in general. I know they have a valid purpose in the park for younger children. I wish just some parents would be a little more careful, and apologize when you've done damage to a persons heels. Otherwise the normal things just don't bother me, as I tend to be very laid back.

My kids wanted the bubble guns. We bought them for them on our way out of the park on our last day. I didn't want to deal with them all week long. I also find them a bit annoying in the parks.

LOL! Strollers are difficult. I know some people do run into others on purpose, maybe out of anger/frustration. However, it goes both ways. Strollers can be very heavy, especially with two kids in them. They are often hard to maneuver in crowds. I try very hard not to ram people, and I know others do too. But I also feel that others are not conscientious of those pushing strollers. I've seen, and been a victim of, people seeing the gap left between the stroller and the group in front and just jumping into the area. This is so frustrating, and when it's first thing in the morning and you're in the rush and crush of guests, it kind of feels like people cutting in line. You're trying to steer the stroller and not run people over and the people are crowding in front of you. Then if you do bump them they turn around and glower at you. I've wished many times that there was a good place to park my stroller in the morning so we could just leave it before rope drop and come back for it later. But there really isn't any place to leave it at that time of day outside of the Lands.

I, myself, had also pushed a stroller with 2 kids and it does go both ways. In numerous occasions, I have people just right in front of our stroller and pretend that we were not there. When you are on a roll going with the crowd, sometimes it is hard to turn or stop without someone getting bump. I don't mind getting hit by strollers as I know how hard it is to maneuver in them unless I get hit multiple times by the same stroller.

I am so careful with my stroller, but honestly I hit a few people on our last trip and they deserved it! If the stroller were a person these people that got hit would never have cut in front of me and that close too!! Thank goodness my ds wasn't in the stroller because he would have been bumped by them.... I not only didn't apologize to them but made a comment about their behavior because heaven only help them if they do it when my ds is in the stroller- I do not tolerate people purposely and rudely bumping into my kids. Accidental bump or touching because of crowds I get but just to be pushy and rude I do not. However like I said I am super careful and unless you specifically cut in front of me and way too close I never hit anyone (well except my dh for stopping in front of us but I digress lol). Luckily people other than that were so great there even offering my dd to sit next to them so she could see at F! We would have just stood behind the ladies that offered but they saw her and were SO nice to let her to the rail (we all could see but her so she was pleased).

I agree with the above and think that they should have a "stroller check."

I feel like I see way too many people, even outside the parks who feel strollers can go wherever people can go. Strollers aren't people. They're almost like bikes. There are certain spaces where they should be off limits or checked and DL needs to reasonably accommodate that.

We waited for WOC for over 90 minutes and were on the front railing right in the middle. We made some friends and had a good visit. After they stood everyone up to squish us together, some kids came and squeezed in. Then they went and got more friends and more friends. After about 6-8 friends I was about to loose it because they were pushing my kids out of the way. They said, "but we can't see". I wanted to say, "Exactly! There are thousands of people here who can't see either because they didn't get here early. Now go find your parents." They were all too young to be in the parks alone but parents were nowhere to be found. My four kids waited 90 minutes and I thought it was extremely rude that they expected to show up at the last minute and get front row.

IDK if it the most annoying thing to me, but I get annoyed when you're in line at the gate (usually at park opening) and a) people in front of you don't realize they can't get into the park yet because they are not eligible for magic morning/early entry or b) it's their first day using a multi day ticket and everyone in the group has to have their picture taken. Seems like Disney could correct this by having better signage regarding early entry requirements, and maybe having separate lines for those using their tickets for the first time?

First world problems I know, but it just frustrates me to be in line behind a whole mess of people who need to have their picture taken or who don't know they can't get in because they aren't eligible for early entry. The first is not their fault, obviously, but the second is kind of on them. I feel bad too when it's our first day and we have to hold people up to take our photos.

How about on a crowded night when everybody's trying to move one way on Main Street and there's always a group that would just stop in the middle of everyone and talk to each other and/or look at their phone?

Ditto to the WOC crushers..

I was there with 4 grandkids and my DIL. We got in line early for a good entry to the viewing area. Found a nice spot along the rail by the steps. The 6 of us sat down to pass the time. Visited with the others in our area enjoying the rest break before the show started.

Fast forward to show time and a father with his family comes and squeezes in to the back left of us, right behind me. Now I'm a 60+ Geemo, the guy thought he could intimidate me. He began pushing me and then yelling not to touch him. He didn't want to give up. He's the one making all the advancements not me. However, I am standing my ground! At one point he yells for security to do something about me pushing him..... So I turned and look up at him and said YES! Lets get security over here! The people around me agreed. He then quieted down but all through the WOC he'd give an annoying shove every once in awhile while complaining his little boy couldn't see.

With a parent displaying behavior like this, it's no wonder kids develop an entitlement factor.

Some people........

Geemo

Rude people cutting line. I have never experienced the amount of line cutters at any other park anywhere like we did at DL!

So you try to squeeze in at the last second huh... lol

No, I wait for the parade hours before to insure the best spot. I believe in treating others the way I would want to be treated. Disney will always be crowded. You make the most of your experience by spreading the Disney magic.
Just my thoughts. I am sure there are people who think differently.

I was only kidding. It's hard to be nice sometimes especially during the summer time heat. People are sticky and sweaty and they try to bump you and squeeze in between you just to get a better spot at the last second. Sometimes, there's really nothing you can do about it.

Mine has to do with line cutting, but not what most think. While waiting in line at WOC store. 5 or 6 people waiting patiantly for our turn to check out, some Pin Trader will walk up to the CM who is checking people out and start talking Pin's.
The CM will start showing their pins. The whole line comes to a stop. I guess because they aren't buying anything they don't think they need to wait in line.

I wish they would fix this too. It is a real pain. There has to be a solution. I don't know what it is, but something. I know they have those handhelds, and it seems they used to go up the lines taking pictures a few groups up so there wasn't as much of a backup. That was not the case during our last trip. I guess I should just get to the gates earlier so I'm not behind so many people...

This will come as a surprise to no one, but for me, the most annoying thing is when fireworks get cancelled. I know, I know. The park's in a residential area. That doesn't make it any less annoying than to wait around until Friday, grab a spot for 30-60 minutes perfect for kid viewing, and then have it cancelled. And then not even open up Fantasyland to make up for it. Annoying.

Groups of people who just stop walking in the middle of a area, that is for walking, and stand there blocking everyone around them and have a conversation. The area around Indiana Jones is notorious for these jokers. Also people pushing baby strollers who run into the back of your leg and don't have the common decency to say they are sorry for their poor behavior. You just know these people are going to raise some real winners.

No worries! Your post is just fine the way it is. I was just sharing my experience. I use to let the crowds bother me too until one day when someone was rude to me when I was following all the proper etiquette and trying to get a spot hours before. Ever since then I like to help people out and see their joy by sharing the experience. Damn Disney is so popular LOL. WDW is even more difficult than Disneyland to make a ADR or get a Fast pass.
This makes me appreciate my hometown Disney so much!!
The heat is too much for me too. o_O Drains my energy.
