What is the most annoying thing you encountered at Disneyland/California Adventures?

Kids on shoulders and iPad filmers are pretty high up on my list. Or when parents want me to let their taller than me tweens stand in front of me. I'm not quite 5'2 so no, your 5'4 12 year old child can't stand in front of me for WoC or a parade, it's just not happening!

My other biggie is people who have balloons and don't lower them. Nothing like trying to watch Fantasmic with a blinking BayMax balloon directly in your line of sight the entire time. *__*

I hate those battery powered bubble wands and they annoy the snot out of me sometimes.

THIS. THIS SO MUCH. Drives me crazy that it's super crowded and we can't maneuver around a group of people walking six wide because there's a bubble gun shooting off and we don't want to get into that mess.

I'm 5'0", so I can relate. :)

We were sitting on the sidewalk waiting for the Pixar Parade to start for about a hour before the show. Then when the show started these two kids from behind us walked right in front of us and sat down blocking the view of my kids. The CM came over and told them to back up, which they did INTO us, I looked around for the parents but nope, no sign of them that I could see. We made room, reluctantly and were all squished together and they still sat on their knees and blocked us sometimes . Then halfway through the parade the sister came to join them and I told her No, I am sorry no more. It was so frustrating. I mean, we were all SITTING so people behind us could stand and watch if they wanted....

This happened to us once for the HS Musical show. They showed up last minute and stood in front of us. We refused to move when they tried to back up into us because they weren't behind the line. Eventually they gave up and left.

I think the most annoying thing to me is trying to get anywhere after parade/fireworks. I know they are doing what they can for crowd control, and I can't imagine how horrible it would be if they didn't! It's just annoying when I was trying to get somewhere besides the exit but got directed with the rest of the cattle in the wrong direction. My husband also had a hard time getting out of the park after the parade but before the fireworks - CMs kept making him go the wrong way til one finally listened that he was trying to leave DL and they led him to the back walkway.

This is entirely situational, but my cousin had a huge brightly-colored mohawk while we were in Disneyland. A lot of people said it was cool, wanted to talk to him or even take pictures with him which was fine, he was like a celebrity, it was cool for him.

But some people were TOTAL jerks to him because of that. One woman made a comment that her grandson or something had one like it but then he 'smartened up and got a real job and started acting like an adult' or something to that effect. Just really, really rude. Even the other woman she was with just stared at her in shock. She tried to play it off as nothing to do with him but HELLO foot in mouth.

A college-aged young man also spit in his hair. People also came up and tried to touch it a lot without permission, kids AND adults.

The other insanely annoying thing that happened to me while there was every time we'd ride a 'scary' ride, there would be a group of little jerks who scream like they're being murdered. HM is the worst. First-timers might let out a little involuntary squeal but you don't need to be screaming. And yes, the stretching room IS part of the ride and I'd like to hear the narration! SHUT UP.

Multi-seat rides that aren't fast always had constant talkers. PotC, canal boats, the railroad... Talk quietly if you must talk. And perhaps keep most of your chatter ride-related? Nobody else cares if Ben dumped Jessica and what he said to Katie about it. Save that for your discussion over lunch, I'm trying to enjoy the ride, thanks!

EDIT: I made a whoops with the censor, mod had to edit for me, so I've changed my post to a different, nicer word :)

Mine is people who stop in the middle of the pathway to chat or to look around. Especially when they are going with the flow of two-way traffic and then just stop without moving.

Oh, also people who feel the need to comment on my children's behavior. Yeah, my 11-year-old doesn't look like a child with any cognitive disabilities, but when she has a meltdown and people make snide comments like "She needs a spanking" or "She's too old to be acting like that" I want to punch them in the face. Mind your business.

This happened to my daughter and me when Paint the Night first opened. We went after work, got some dinner, and waited on the curb for the parade, chatting with our 'neighbors.' About an hour before the parade started a couple stood in front of us in the street. Right behind us was someone in a wheelchair, and we were all sitting down. We told them that the cast members wouldn't let them stand there during the parade, and they kept backing up to try and get on the curb. There were about five of us sitting there and we weren't about to move for them. There was actually standing room behind us and we were all sitting, so they would have a good view of the parade, but they wanted front row. Didn't happen ... didn't feel guilty about it. However, a family had young kids and we let the kids sit in front of us. We always make room for the little ones.

We rarely ride Peter Pan first thing. It seems everyone rushes there because they've heard you should. But to me it's not worth it unless we can get on within 10-minutes. I agree it's annoying when CM don't tell you the ride won't be up for at least X minutes. I understand that they can't promise it will be up within a certain time, but they should have an idea that it won't be ready for at least a number of minutes. During our last trip we headed to Toy Story first thing in the morning. It wasn't up and running yet and we ran into the same issue. Everyone is lining up for a ride that isn't open. We finally left. Turned out RSR was also closed and a ton of people were heading down the Boardwalk towards Toy Story. I thought it sure would be nice if they had a better way of letting guests know that rides are closed temporarily. I'm hoping the new app helps in that department, but who knows.
The worst part about it, and the only reason I actually said something (I'm not a complainer, and I avoid confrontation for the most part) is that they let people get in the line. If the line had been blocked off, bummer, but we could have reasonably fit in Dumbo, Alice, Toad, Snow White, and Pinocchio in that time. Maybe even more. Once they got going, our wait time was 2 minutes. We were that close.

The thing that annoys me the most is people who stand super close, it doesn't matter for whatm but waiting in lines is the worst. I've had people so close to my husband and I that he couldn't get his wallet out to pay for our pretzels without elbowing the guy behind us.

I am telling you, butt bumping works wonders for this issue!!! ha ha ha! I've been doing it for years now! ;)

Line cutters. People who swear like a sailor. Occasionally, a rare individual who acts like the park should stop everything just for them because they are special snowflakes...whether it's the attitude of "I'm an AP holder! You should treat me better!" or "Do you know how much money I'm spending here on my vacation? You better do X or I want a free ___!"

Ditto to the WOC crushers..

Fast forward to show time and a father with his family comes and squeezes in to the back left of us, right behind me. Now I'm a 60+ Geemo, the guy thought he could intimidate me. He began pushing me and then yelling not to touch him. He didn't want to give up. He's the one making all the advancements not me. However, I am standing my ground! At one point he yells for security to do something about me pushing him..... So I turned and look up at him and said YES! Lets get security over here! The people around me agreed. He then quieted down but all through the WOC he'd give an annoying shove every once in awhile while complaining his little boy couldn't see.

With a parent displaying behavior like this, it's no wonder kids develop an entitlement factor.

Some people........

Geemo
I have a potty mouth and probably would have dropped a few ****s his way if he started yelling and hitting me on purpose.

I'm taking note of all these - and I'm going to try really hard not to get into people's space, try to arrive early to stake out spots, and hold my ground. And I'll be polite and all... until someone does something to my kids. And then I'm a smiling mama bear. I learned how to tell people to go to aitch-eee-double hockey sticks and they appreciate the ride ;)

Oh, man, yes! With my three kids in two, the last thing I want to hear at a Disney park is some thug dropping **** every 4th word. You know the guy: he can make that word a noun, verb, adjective.....it can be any part of the sentence. Honestly, it's like smelling raw sewage with your ears.

People who have to film a ride or take pictures on dark rides with flash (IASW/Pirates)...you're not the first person to ride this ride and film it. Stop blocking my kid's view with your giant arm and camcorder/iPad.

Same with WOC - stop holding your giant iPad up and filming a show that has been filmed THOUSANDS of times already! Just enjoy the show!!
