We are going in May for F&G. Just husband and I. We enjoy all of World showcase. I can shop, he can always find a spot to just relax. We never run to attractions. We go back to the pool, grab a drink and just enjoy. It is just so much different when there are kids. What do you do special, when the kids are home. (we are grandparents now, so no guilt):cool1:

Adult trips are a much slower pace for me. I took my nephew in November and it was go, go, go! He didn't want to sit for a minute. I like to people watch, there was none of that. Without kids, I like to sit and watch the Streetsmosphere performers at DHS. I also like to sit on the lower patio in front of the Plaza restaurant at MK and just soak up the atmosphere. I'll do FOTLK twice in a row, ride the People Mover round and round, spend more time in shops, watch all the performers in the countries in Epcot, things that kids never want to stop for. I love the Chair balancing guy in France. I also like to watch the kids meeting the characters. I sit on the bench across from Jasmine and Aladdin come out in Morroco or in the little garden in France where Aurora and Belle are and just enjoy seeing the kids meet them. I also love wandering around the resorts. I take the monorail and stop at each resort just to walk around and look for things I've never seen before.

ETA: If you like World Showcase. On my solo trip, I watched Illuminations in Germany and let most of the crowds leave after it was over, then I took the long way back going towards France, it was so nice, just a quiet, no crowd walk around WS.

We don’t have kids yet, but I imagine that if we do, late nights at Yachtsman will be out, Wishes/Illuminations might be on hold until said child isn’t scared of fireworks anymore, the ability to go commando for 14 hours with no naps, that sort of stuff.

The food. Our adult trips tend to be built around dining at many of our favorite, not so kid friendly restaurants. The trips with kids tend to involve a lot more chicken strips and character meals.

I guess my kids are different. We had to book more "meat and potato" restaurants because my parents are coming. When it's just the kids and I we try more adventurous foods.

We don't have kids so all our trips are adult trips. I'm sure we'd have to make adjustments if we had them; our trips these days are too slow paced and involve too many late nights for kids.

You know what I always say? Walt Disney World - it's no place for children!

I'm joking obviously, there is enough magic for everyone. What I don't get though is why people don't understand our love for Disney as a couple with no kids. Some people just don't have the Disney gene and they just don't get it.

We definitely had a much different trip when we went without of kids (I had a work conference last April at YC and brought DH along). We ate dinner much later and at nicer restaurants (bistro de Paris and yachtsman). We toured efficiently (no strollers!) and skipped some of the kid favorites (no Dumbo! No nemo!). We browsed in shops, enjoyed the flowers, relaxed, etc. It was much more relaxing and romantic!
I love seeing Disney through the eyes of my children but it was so much more of a vacation without them (in the relaxing and unwinding sense!)

We haven't been able to take an adult only trip but it has been discussed. Along some of the same lines, dinner would be very different--California Grill, more Yachtsman:lovestruc, etc. I would also take more pictures. I love photography, but the majority of my pictures obviously are of my girls and their experiences. I would take my time exploring and getting those non-touristy shots.

Take lots of pictures of dumb stuff. Shop. Tours.

All the stuff that makes children who endure it go bonkers.
