We have a super early flight home... 6:00am :crazy2: so we will be staying at the airport Hyatt the night before we head home. MK has EMH till midnight so we would like to stay as late as possible. What is the latest we can schedule our ME pick up? Thanks.

Good luck
DME is not designed for this. Basically if there are no flights leaving there is no DME. And the last flight I have found is around 10.

Just call DME directly and tell them that you want the latest bus possible.

And they will tell you that's going to be around 8 PM. they don't run a bus to the airport that gets there after all the planes are gone. I would look into a taxi Or rental car

Good luck

Since when is DME not designed to take you to the airport on your check out day?o_O I just wanted to know what was the latest time... no need for your sarcasm. This is why it is sometimes pointless to ask questions on these boards. The snark is out of control.

The DME buses only stop by a resort if there are guests to pick up, they don't go by every half hour or hour. And the way they schedule buses is set by flight times. You would be picked up 3 hours before whatever flight time you chose to give them. But you need to find a flight number that works--a flight where 3 hours out is when you want to be picked up.

A couple of things...

First, if you want to stay at the MK until close (12am), you would get back to your resort around 12:30-1:00 am. So, with that in mind, you would need to give DME the flight info for a flight that departs MCO around 3:30-4:30am...and that will be difficult.

Second, I believe your resort guest "privileges" only extend until midnight on your checkout day. Therefore, you would have to utilize the DME return before midnight. That will make it even more difficult to find a "dummy" flight that departs between 2-3am.

I would think that under your plan, a town car service would be the best, or do as a PP suggested and call DME directly and explain what you are looking to do. They will be able to give you the definitive answer.

Thank you... Just to clarify I didn't say we were going to stay until midnight just that EMH were until midnight and I wanted to know how late we could book ME. I am not looking to break any rules or push any "privileges" I just wanted to know the what time ME stopped running.

DME doesn't truly 'stop running'. It runs if there is a need. The issue would be that how many flights are departing at 2am? For a 6am flight, you would be picked up around 3am! If it were me, I would book a value resort room for that last night and then try to get DME back after midnight! Or, just head back to the room when EMHs close...you would get back to the room around 1am-ish. Then, you would have two hours to kill...go to the pool, quietly! Pack up your stuff. Then get on the bus at 3ish.
If that doesn't work for you, you would might be better off just booking a car service to take you back to MCO and the hotel. You could stay at MK as long as you wanted, head back to your resort, get your things, and get picked up and go to the Hyatt.
But, perhaps I'm not understanding the situation. Are you staying at the Hyatt for just the few hours between MK emhs and your flight?

I'm not sure everyone is entirely sure of what days your're talking about. So, let me ask again, in another manner. Let's say that your 6am flight is on a Saturday morning. MK has EMHs Friday evening, until midnight. Are you staying at the Hyatt after MK EMHs? So that would be staying at the Hyatt Friday afternoon into Saturday morning. Do you have a WDW room resort booked with checkout on that Friday?
I'm assuming that you have a Friday checkout, which means you have to be on a DME bus no later than midnight. With a room at the Hyatt for Friday night, into Saturday morning.

I am sorry I will make my question more clear......
What is the latest time ME runs?
That was my only question I asked in my OP. I just wanted to know how late ME runs. I thought I had already explained that in another post on this thread. Hopefully this clears things up. I already called ME and got my answers so Thank You to everyone for all your input.

You're using DME on your check-out day to return to the airport. Even though you're not catching a flight when you get the airport, the DME service is available to you. (You just can's use Resort Airline Check-in if your flight is not until the next day.)

Buses have to return from WDW to the airport to pick up passengers whose flights are arriving late at night. So there are late buses, even if there are often no airport-bound passengers on them.

Call Disney's Magical Express Guest Services at 866-599-0951. Tell the agent exactly what you want to do. Have your WDW reservation number ready. Do not ask a regular WDW resort reservation agent; they don't all know the finer points of DME.

Then please come back to this thread and let us know what they told you.

Some of the replies in this thread are well-intentioned guesses. I could also guess, but I'd rather have you get the real answer and then share it with us.

My reply is not a 'well intentioned" guess I called and asked as I was doing the same thing OP is doing. The latest I could convince them to transport me was about 8:30 PM. I rented a car.

The Magical Express phone reservationist might have been working with old software or old printed bus schedules.

There are those (computer users, computer programmers, even some computer experts) who just "use" the software and there are those who "work" the software (do more than what's in the first half of "Software For Dummies").

DME runs as a 24-hour operation. For inbound travel, it's based on actual flight arrivals. For outbound travel, it's normally based on scheduled flight departures (with pickup approx. 3 hours before). That's how DME was designed.

However, based on what people have posted on this forum, WDW resort guests have successfully used DME to return to the airport on their check-out day without having a flight on the same day. Some provided flight information for a late flight, even though they weren't actually going to take that flight. Others called DME Guest Services, told the agent what they wanted to do, and made a reservation for an evening pick-up time.

You wrote that you already called DME and got your answers. What were those answers? Please share them with us. It will help the next person who has this question.
