What is the latest I can cancel before "holding"?..

Hi all. We have 2 trips scheduled on developer points we received from Kidani: April 19th-24th and (I hope not booked yet because of 7 month window) September 26th-October 3rd. The April trip is booked. There might be job switch in the near future and I don't know how open they will be to a week vacation in the first 2 months I am there. (All hypothetical...so I am hoping they will kick me out the door to make me go ) Either way, what is the latest I can cancel the April trip and add the points to make the September trip longer without having to go into any of that "holding" period fuss?

30 days in advance so around March 19th..

If you cancel 30 days or less out, they are holding points. If you cancel 31 days or more, they are returned to the current year. If you cancel the day of the trip, they expire immediately.
