It appears the majority of people here hadn’t heard of IBCCES until Universal went to the system in July of last year.

Universal Guest Services explained that that once approved for IBCCES, as long as the user recertified each year With IBCCES; the DAS accommodation would continue for their sguest

for those who have utilized IBCCES in the past…

any idea if they do they send you a link when it’s time to renew?

or do you need to remember to log into the site and recertify, somehow?

Has anyone tried renewing recently? I went into the app and clicked renew and it just says “renew started”. I have done this for myself and my son. Our special IBCCES accessibility card number has gone away. I did this a week ago and haven’t noticed the accounts renew or get card number to reappear.

*Update posted below

👉 Update

I tried again but through their online website and it worked. Don’t know why it was giving me problems trying to do it with the app. So if you need to renew login to their website and save yourself some time.

So while I don’t really use their disability pass because I purchase express (works better), I renewed it last month and it was not just click renew and that’s it. I had to send new current paperwork from my doctor which I had as I go at least every 3 months to him. It initially said I was approved on the card but a couple of days later it said temporary and I got an email asking for new documentation. So at least some people have to resubmit paperwork with renewal

That's different than previous reports

It's efficient, but if someone got approved with 'fudged' documentation or overstated their needs and were approved....it's too efficient.
You do have to upload current, supporting documentation each year

Liars going to lie

Cheaters going to cheat

Appears many of that ilk think nothing about going out of their way to get over.

I'm of the mind that I'm only responsible for my own actions.

Bless the scammers' black hearts, for they need it, in spades :rolleyes1

Did you have to submit supporting documentation? Seems to be mixed bag there lately. I’m all for them requesting it.
No. We did not. I just left the last letter on there, and submitted. We actually just got the confirmation email this morning (2 days later) saying it has been reviewed and approved too. It actually may have something to do with the reasoning for the disability too. Just a guess as to why some are being asked and some not. My son is autistic and I don’t see why they would need a new letter every year stating that he still has autism. Nothing has changed in 18 years, and doctor wrote that he’s been seeing him for that long so maybe that’s why they looked at it and decided that was still ok. 🤷🏼‍♀️

So it’s renewal time for my IBCCES card, I have renewed. I had tha universal aap card on a trip last year through this new process in October. When the IBCCES renewal is approved, do I have to have the call with Universal again about the AAP? Or am I still good to go with last years case number on my IBCCES card to just pick it up? I’m confused if I have to do the disability call with Universal again or not.

Current policy: as long as the guest keeps the existing IBCCES # current each year...

Just need to revisit GS @ park and get the tix/AP verified for the specific number of days

I assume they would announce any changes to this. However, might want to contact them if any concerns

Thanks! How wild is that!?! Disney makes you do the call repeatedly even if your qualifying disability/s is/are permanent. I’m not used to Universal except for HHN but with this new DAS mess we might become so. It’s wild how different they are now.

ChatGPT generated response:

IBCCES (International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards) typically requires individuals to log into their system to recertify. They may not automatically send a reminder link when it’s time to renew, so it’s essential to keep track of your certification expiration date.

However, some users have reported receiving reminder emails from IBCCES when it's time to renew, but this isn't guaranteed. It's a good idea to set a reminder for yourself to check your certification status annually and ensure that you recertify on time to maintain accommodations like the DAS (Disability Access Service) at Universal.

If you're unsure or want to confirm, you could reach out to IBCCES directly or check their website for more specific guidance on the renewal process.
