Don't want to put a downer on Wizarding World but we just went last week and were very disappointed
It was a COLD Monday and we got there for opening but the WW was absolutely packed, it was quite chaotic and anyone with buggies and scooters was struggling to get around. There were queues for all of the shops and Honeydukes was manic with people pushing and shoving (and someone had been 'ill' outside).
The ride itself was crazy, we had a
scooter user in our party who had to transfer into a wheelchair but there was no specific area for this, we were then put into the queue for people without bags as we did not need to go to the locker area (we found out that we would be able to leave our bags with the wheelchair but we had to ask 3 people before this was explained!) No-one really knew what the 2 separate queues were for especially when they said one was for people with no bags and we were all there with bags
The castle, which is the queuing area is amazing but for some reason it just didn't flow at all, we stood in the greenhouses for about 20 minutes in a solid queue but then when we got back inside the castle were rushed through the classrooms with no waiting at all, I don't know why the greenhouses have become such a bottleneck but I guess it will be very uncomfortable out there in the warmer weather.
The ride itself, well out of 5 (adults) of us only 2 would ride again and that's mainly because it stopped when we were on it so we lost the sync with the sounds and pictures and want to see how it should work! The dragons and spiders are not so scary however if you get stuck right in front of them it would be pretty uncomfortable! We got stuck under the Whomping Willow kind of lying on our backs with our feet in the air! Like I said the sound continued and then when the ride started again (probably 3 minutes later) we were then bobbing about in front of a blank screen with no sound.
Because of the technology there are times when you feel as if you are flying backwards and almost upside down and anyone who suffers any type of motion sickness is likely to find this quite difficult. My mum, in her scooter, asked one of the staff before riding if it was fast/what the movement was like and was told it goes less than 5 miles an hour and is smooth... Well maybe it does but it makes you feel like you are all over the place.
I think it's a real shame that they haven't made the castle an attraction in it's own right as I think that's the real draw of the WW.
Final note of caution - they take your pic right in front of something scary so most people have their eyes closed! Not many people were buying when we were there!!!
