What is the Harry Potter ride like?

Can I ask what kind of car you are actually in? and how do you look at the screen is your head in something?

The screen is in front of you, a bit like the Simpsons ride. You sit in a row of four and your legs are suspended.

My friend is scared to death of spiders and I am worried that she won't be able to ride because of that - I mean she literally hyperventilates at the sight of a big one! I'd love it if she would come on it though.

Based on what you've said, I don't think your friend would enjoy the ride. The spider bit is quite scary (and I'm not usually bothered by them!).

there are 4 seats in each vehicle with a bar that comes down right in front of you - the ride vehicle moves around from room to room - some is on the cinema screen and some is actual 'models' in front of you.

Everyone who knows me will tell you how scared I am of spiders - i have been known to run screaming from an office full of people just if I think I have seen one - I really am that bad. The spiders on this ride are huge, but there is nothing about them that makes you think they are remotely real!!! I really wasn't scared of them at all - one does spit, but by the time you realise what the water is it has passed and none of them come very close - they are there very briefly and they don't come towards you. (I found the spiders in 'its tough to be a bug' a lot worse as they do come towards you).

Hope that helps a little:thumbsup2

Thanks ladies, I think we will ride first and she can wait with the kids in the child swap area, then we can give an opinion to her on how she thinks she will get on - no doubt when she sees this thread she will be along to say she isn't going on it! :rotfl:

I am the friend! Seriously I have the worst phobia in the world I can't even watch the spider on Shrek! However I can just close my eyes during that bit do you think it would be doable.

Also I am not the most adventerous when it comes to rides. Is it quite aggressive or as a big HP fan will the story on screen help take my mind off like with the Polar express one at SW?

I guess you could close your eyes if you wanted to. It's not aggressive but I would certainly call it a thrill ride. By the way, the screen isn't there throughout the ride- some parts of it pass through 'scenes', rather like a dark ride (but faster and more exciting).

Thanks. Who knows I might find some adventure and give it a go, but Gems has definitely gotta try it 1st:rotfl2:

If it is no more vigarous than Spiderman I might give it a try - stranger things have happened. I have even tried youtube but it is hard to tell as it is so dark. I'm not sure small kids would like it though from what I did see????

My eldest, Kai, is 6 and has seen all of the HP films (including the latest at the cinema) - he did do the ride once, but refused to do it again due to the dementors. I would say though that he LOVES the films, and so I think believes in them a bit too much, so I think he was secretly worried that the dementors were actually going to suck out his soul!!!;)

Ahhhh bless him:scared1:
