what is the furthest coach/train journey you have been on?

Los Angeles to New Orleans to Chicago to Seattle to Los Angeles.
Toronto to Vancouver.

Sacramento to Las Vegas, nearly 600 miles each way as a chaperone for a High School baseball tournament. Yup, nothing like taking 19 boys age 16 to 18 from a Catholic High School to Sin City.

Seattle, Washington to Emeryville, California on Amtrak’s Coast Starlight. It was in coach, although the seat was about the size of a first class airline seat. I forgot to bring a pillow though, and my neck was feeling it. Not sure of the distance, but it was slightly under 24 hours.

Years ago I rode on an overnight train from Sydney to Melbourne. That was an experience, especially in the middle of the Australian winter in an assigned car where the heater stopped working. We tried to get into another car (same class) with heat only to have the conductor tell us that we weren’t allowed outside our assigned seats and he didn’t care if we were cold. He was relieved in the middle of the night and his replacement started waking passengers telling them to go to a car with heat.

Hollywood, FL to Orlando.

Next year it'll be Ft. Lauderdale to Orlando.

Syracuse, NY to New Orleans by way of Chicago. Coming home, we went from NOLA north along the coast to NYC, then transferred trains to go thru Albany and back to Syracuse.

Train from Casablanca to Marrakech, which happened to coincide with a taping of one of the segments of the Amazing Race.

Coach from Kyoto to Fukuoka

Nice, France, to Monte Carlo and back. It was actually my first and only train trip, ever (not counting city transit systems). The travel by rail system is not well developed in Canada and very few locations have access, so it’s not really a thing here. I was blown away by the ease, efficiency and economy of train travel in Europe. :lovestruc

I've done the Autotrain once - it was okay but we only had a roomette and it was kinda tight.
I've been on a coach for 45 minutes a few times in Europe although I normally try to avoid any buses if at all possible!
