I love trunk or treats - this is the 22nd year my church has been doing one. Since our (mostly) empty nest, we are always gone during the week of Halloween, so we've missed the last few. I wish we weren't as limited as to when we can travel, but until we retire, we are, so I guess it is what it is!What a beautiful view @Oneanne!!
Happy Friday to everyone! I didn’t babysit today due to my BILs work schedule, so DD and I had hair appointments, I purchased some physical Disney gift cards for our trip and picked up my MIL for lunch with DD and I. Did some cleaning and laundry as well.
My niece comes tomorrow morning instead for the rest of the weekend which actually worked out great because our church is having their fall fest tomorrow so that will be fun. Our oldest son and his family are coming as well as my in-laws and oldest nieces and nephews so it should be a great day!
I am off to trunk or treat at my nieces and nephews school!! Excited to see all the trunks decorated!
I am fortunate to have a lot of documentation on my mother’s side, some of which is currently in museums. My grandmother’s family came over on the Mayflower and one of my ancestors signed the Mayflower Compact. They were members of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution. One of my ancestors is Charles Stratton, aka Tom Thumb who was a little person and a very famous circus performer for P.T. Barnum. My maternal grandfather came over from Ireland. My paternal grandparents came from Sweden.TUESDAY TOPIC: Who are your people?

A couple things have come up lately that have gotten me to thinking about my family ancestry. One was a recent update sent from Ancestry on my genetic make-up from a blood test I did about five years ago - it changed things quite a bit. Another was a documentary done by a lady exploring her Irish heritage, having been the third generation of her family to live in Minnesota.
How much do you know about your family ancestry?
Have you ever done family tree research or done one of the blood tests?
Is there anything you've learned that was surprising?
Or anything that has influenced your quest for more healthy living?
I can’t recall a favorite costume, but I do remember being very excited to be Casper the friendly ghost as a very young child.SOCIAL SATURDAY

I don't seem to have good luck finding fun quizzes, so how about some Halloween questions.
What is a favorite costume you've either worn yourself or helped someone put together?
Are you dressing up this year?
How about a favorite Halloween memory?
What is your favorite Halloween candy? How do you feel about candy corn?
Have you ever been to Mickey's Not So Scary or Oogie Boogie?
I went to church and then early voting.
Of course it is! And while I think I speak for everyone that we're glad that you've checked in so we know you're OK, having taught before, I also absolutely understand why you haven't been here everyday! You've been through a lot, and some classes are exhausting, and you deserve to put yourself first in your time off. I wish I could send you some practical help, but know we're thinking of you and sending you good wishes for kindergarten miracles.I’m still quite overwhelmed and I really have trouble participating daily. I’m trying to get here when I can. I feel bad because I haven’t been carrying my weight. I can’t remember the last time I hosted.
For the month of November, the only week I can guarantee that I can host would be Thanksgiving week, the last week of November. Is that okay with everyone?
